  • At the 20th Annual Conference of the Natural Philosophy Alliance (NPA20), held July 2013 in College Park, Maryland USA, Australian physicist Wal Thornhill recounted his personal odyssey, starting with inspiration from Immanuel Velikovsky and culminating in an interdisciplinary perspective on the grand view of the Electric Universe Model of Cosmology.
One of the highlights at NPA20 was the presentation of the distinguished Sagnac Award to Wal Thornhill for his lifelong contribution to science.
Wal Thornhill (1942-2023) was the co-founder of The Thunderbolts Project and its Chief Science Advisor. His philosophical approach is that we must first understand human nature to understand the cosmos. The Electric Universe Model is the only science that has grown from diverse disciplines of understanding, offering hope and inspiration for a better future.

Having read Velikovsky in the 50's as a tyke I always held the taught version of science in question. Not being of college calibre I wasn't aware of the Talbot's and Cardona's , etc, contributions until 20/25 years ago, but did binge on it all at that time. I am gratefull the Thunderbolts Project put this presentation out to fill in some open ends at Wal's passing. Thank you all...

One issue I have however is the rejection of First Cause. One can believe in a Creator without the apparent lunacy of the Big Bang and all the Unicorns modern cosmology "creates" to explain the Universe. Confirmation bias is something we 'all' struggle with. The Ancients created their storm gods and wood spirits and modern science in their own way does the same. If there are any mathematicians or people that are knowledgeable in mathematics and physics out there who would like to help bring to the world the correct and true description of reality and have the patience to put up with the crazy man like me to listen to my ideas long enough to where you get it to where if you have intelligence I have no doubt you will see and it will click and then we'll go from there. And it doesn't take much intelligence I'm not any type of Genius but I am pretty smart though but mostly I just have been curious and the question that has eaten me up ever since I can remember is the question about the Paradox of nothingness and everything and why do we exist at all. And that is actually the most fundamental question about reality and it ties into everything else mathematically and you can derive Consciousness and qualia from this as well and even though I'm not a mathematician or a genius I have figured out things that the greats in history couldn't even figure out for some reason and I think that's because of the imposition to put up on them by history and the institutions like the church and Academia since they are at odds add one side is ruled by idiots who know they're lying and are greedy and don't care and buy the other side who are idiots that but they're too stupid to to realize that they're idiots and they think they are smart because you know a atheists have to be smart right? Yeah the same people that have been proving over and over that there's nothing material in existence at all it. Because all this is frequency basically information. Yet they they hold do a paradigm of materialism their own mathematics and physics and experiments has proven there is nothing material and that all solid things are just events in measurements, they do not see the implications. And by the way relativity is completely true it is not enough because relativity is Beyond Universal. Relativity comes into being as soon as existence itself does because of the relationship between nothingness and infinity and as soon as you have this separation you have subjectivity and relationship which is the fundamental causes of all existence along with information. And it's part of the Big Bang goes the Big Bang is happening right now the point of the present moment that we call now in fact in the universe is expanding from our perspective and it's doing the same thing from every perspective because an Infinity of things must have their chance to exist and they must have their time to exist to do this since the space and time is limited that means everything must be in it a state of flux all at all times. That's why it's cyclic and that's why it's always expanding because to tell Infinity you're going to need more and more and more of it. This is what is called a potential Infiniti. If the whole universe shrinks down to the size of a singularity which it is from the outside by the way. All the space was in it would shrink down and so would the matter. By the way the plank scale don't apply outside of time and space because there's nothing to measure it against. And that is the reason the very first measurement ever made had to have been a subjective consciously made decision. There are so many things that I can prove logically but I don't have the experience with writing proofs to put this down in mathematical jargon and scientific jargon that would be accepted by even the most open-minded institution you know are magazine or even person listening to this type of stuff but I guarantee I'm right. 100% for sure I know I am

It goes on to say "Condemning EU to the status of Pseudo-science is indeed one way to suppress EU theory" - I do not agree with this bit. Calling something pseudoscience is just a short-hand way of indicating why the academic community does not pay much attention to it. There is no suppression as such.

i will also drop this one here not relevant but still somehow relevant about thee magn. field...
"The Earth's magnetic field cannot be generated by the motion of liquids in the outer core, as posited by the geodynamo theory. Instead, the observed magnetic field is primarily generated by the rotational motion of the core itself, with the inner and outer layers rotating in opposite directions. The liquid outer core does not create the field directly; instead, it distorts the otherwise perfect dipolar magnetic field, contributing to observed irregularities and fluctuations."
    Introduction:
The standard geodynamo theory asserts that the motion of electrically conductive fluids in the outer core generates the Earth's magnetic field. However, the focus of this thesis is not on the strength or consistency of the field, but on its specific shape-particularly its dipolar nature. The question arises: how can such a perfect dipolar field be generated by chaotic fluid motion in the outer core? The argument presented here is that the magnetic field is primarily generated by the motion of the core itself, with the inner and outer core rotating in opposite directions. The liquid outer core, instead of creating the field, distorts its otherwise perfect dipolar shape.
    Review of the Geodynamo Model:
The conventional geodynamo model credits the motion of liquid iron and nickel in the outer core for generating the magnetic field. Fluid convection, driven by heat and compositional differences, along with the Earth's rotation, is thought to produce the observed magnetic field. However, this model faces significant challenges in explaining the specific shape of the magnetic field. The Earth's field is dipolar-symmetrical and aligned with the planet's rotation axis-which seems inconsistent with the expected results from the fluid convection processes in the outer core. The chaotic, turbulent motions of the liquid core are too irregular to produce such an ordered, stable field.
    The Importance of Field Shape:
Earth's magnetic field is characterized by its dipolar nature, with the magnetic poles closely aligned to the planet's rotational axis. The shape of the field is important because it represents a highly organized and symmetrical structure. The stability of the field over time-despite fluctuations and reversals-also suggests that the field’s generation must come from a relatively stable and organized source. This is a key issue, as the liquid motions in the outer core, which are assumed to be chaotic and turbulent, do not seem capable of producing such a well-defined and stable dipolar magnetic field.
Core Motion and Electromagnetic Field Generation:
The basic principles of electromagnetism tell us that a magnetic field is generated by the motion of charged particles, which can occur through electromagnetic induction (the right-hand rule). The hypothesis presented here suggests that the rotational motion of the core itself is the key to producing the magnetic field’s dipolar shape. If the inner and outer core rotate in opposite directions, this motion could generate a dipole-like magnetic field that aligns with the Earth’s rotation axis. This organized motion would naturally produce a symmetric and stable magnetic field, unlike the complex and unpredictable field that would arise from the convection of liquids alone.
The Role of Liquids in Distorting the Field:
While the liquid outer core does not generate the magnetic field directly, it plays a role in distorting the field that is primarily created by the core's motion. The liquid layers trapped between the inner and outer core distort the perfect dipolar shape of the field, leading to the magnetic imperfections and fluctuations that we observe. These distortions manifest as anomalies in the field, localized magnetic regions, and fluctuations in strength. The motion of the liquid can therefore cause irregularities and variations in the field, but it is not the cause of the field’s overall dipolar structure.
Why Liquids Cannot Create a Perfect Magnetic Field:
The chaotic, localized motion of the liquid outer core cannot generate the organized dipole seen in the Earth’s magnetic field. The fluid dynamics in the outer core, while capable of causing fluctuations, cannot produce a stable, symmetric magnetic field because the interactions of the fluid are too unpredictable. The observed imperfections in the magnetic field, such as magnetic anomalies and fluctuations, are a result of the liquid’s interaction with the core's motion, but the liquid itself cannot create the underlying dipolar shape of the field.
The Core’s Role in Producing the Dipolar Field:
The inner and outer core’s rotational motion-especially if these layers rotate in opposite directions-forms the primary mechanism for creating the observed dipolar magnetic field. This rotation can generate a field that is aligned with the Earth's rotational axis, producing the stable, symmetric dipole observed. The role of the liquid outer core is to distort this perfect dipole, leading to the observed irregularities, but it is the core's motion itself that produces the field's fundamental shape.
    Conclusion:
In conclusion, the motion of the core-with the inner and outer core rotating in opposite directions-is the primary driver of the observed magnetic field’s dipolar shape. The liquid outer core plays a secondary role by distorting this shape, leading to the imperfections and fluctuations we observe. This thesis suggests that the geodynamo model, which attributes field generation solely to fluid motion in the outer core, is inadequate in explaining the specific shape of the magnetic field. Future research should focus on better understanding the core's rotational dynamics and their role in generating Earth's magnetic field.
    Key Points to Emphasize:
The core’s rotational motion is the primary source of the observed dipolar magnetic field.
The liquid outer core does not create the field but distorts the perfect dipole shape, leading to observed anomalies.
The dipolar shape of the magnetic field requires a more organized mechanism, like the core’s rotation, rather than the chaotic fluid dynamics of the outer core.

I haven't yet learned this electric theory, but let me explain why any intelligent person who is at least somewhat science literate would want to. The big bang is idiotic, illogical, unprovable and doesn't even answer the question of "what happened first" anyway. Therefore, all we have by way of evidence is math on chalkboards and computer sims we've designed. We have now a slew of "science communicators" like DeGrasse or BrGreene who talk about the big bang and its surrounding ideas as pure fact, that is how they communicate them. It turns off anyone that doesn't do that math daily and choose to believe we aren't missing something fundamental when we create things like dark matter out of nothing, and then fail to find it for decade after decade. For my part, I like to learn still because its who I am, but I don't actually think it makes much sense for us to spend a single dollar or minute trying to theorize on how a galaxy is formed or go around pretending we know how the universe started or how big it is when we've existed for eight seconds cosmically. If science followed its own rule it wouldn't waste time working on things that can't be proven even if you could observe for a thousand human lifetimes.

the funny thing is that gravity cannot be attractive all the way, at certain point becomes repulsive ... so we actually never observed classical orbital decay and collision based on attractive force of gravity ... to be honest except asteroid planet sun collisions we haven't observe planet to planet or star to star collisions .
if that was the valid case of gravity then in the center of Milky Way , Sag A center of mass would have devour all of the stars in that region , and we observe that the stars are moving very fast and goes away - slingshot. If something is attracting something else towards itself , whatever is the object momentum or trajectory it will lead to collision .. and we do not observe that ...

Two facts of physics. Cold space itself and stars disolving their atmospheric gases into external heat energy waves outside of entanglement of mass as potential renewable heat energy when absorbed into internal magnetic fields as mass. External heat energy outside of entanglement of mass doesn't ground currents. Electricity is rapid heat exchanging through mass faster than planetary internal magnetic fields grounding currents through its nucleus or core. Earth's internal magnetic field grounding currents are elements accumulation of quaternary elements combined synchronization amplification of quaternary internal magnetic fields grounding currents through all masses in its path until displacement can't be overcome by impaction force. Illusionary solidity from liquidity infinity. Mass doesn't burn it disolves its internal magnetic fields, disolving into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as fire. Lightning disolving atmospheric gasses instantaneously disolving into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as fire lighting up the sky like campfires slowly disolving internal magnetic fields disolving into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as fire. If heat doesn't ground currents, it disolves into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as fire. Mass occupies space within it as occupational space itself and heat energy and cold repulsion of space itself as the repellant of heat propulsion as the propellant. Heat energy is always outward force of pressure known as weightless outside of a greater internal magnetic field grounding currents. Mass is always outward force of pressure. Atmospheric gases are outward force of pressure known as weightless. Hot air balloons rise up through earth's internal magnetic field because external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass doesn't ground currents. Hydrogen is the cosmic speed limit in resistance to cold repulsion of space to faster than space repulsion allows. When heat is thrown outward into cold repulsion faster than normal momentum of space, the velocity of heat waves is redirected backward onto itself. Hydrogen is the most abundant element because it exceeds the cosmic speed limit as space itself as a weak external magnetic field. Grounding is centrifugal forces cycling circulation faster than normal external magnetism. Mass falls in equalization to planetary internal magnetic fields grounding currents. Anything moving faster starts to heat up and disolves into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass like meteorites hitting earth's planetary internal magnetic field. External magnetic fields spin all heat energy within its field like a record on a record player. Proximity mass disolves from within mass when proximity is to close as mass is always outward force of pressure. Mass disolves into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass throughout space and atmospheres. When displacement can't be overcome by impaction, force collisions happen. Heat is always present in disolving mass as external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as fire. Refraction of reflection bouncing off mass unabsorbed heat singularities lighting up the mass, it strikes vibration of refraction of reflection bouncing off mass lighting up atmospheres like filaments. Magnetism is unification of unidirectional currents flowing through and around mass as potential renewable heat energy outside and within entanglement as mass. Mass occupies space within it and without it. Heat waves are released pressure from stars atmospheric gasses disolving into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as dark heat energy outside of entanglement of mass. Light is only present in resistance to mass as potential renewable heat energy unabsorbed bouncing around atmospheres. Heat is the propellant, and cold space itself is the repellant. Heat energy waves outside of entanglement of mass as potential renewable heat energy is traveling through space as normal space momentum velocity propulsion to and from cold repulsion into cold repulsion as normal momentum velocity. When stars explode away their heat energy outward force of impaction hydrogen is created from faster than normal momentum of space velocity redirected currents back onto itself as internal magnetic fields grounding currents through its nucleus or core where event horizon perimeters quantumized internal magnetic fields cycling circulation centrifugal force faster than normal hurricanes force. Hydrogen under extreme pressure expands and doesn't collapse inward. Cold repulsion to heat propulsion from pure cold fabric of space devoid of heat energy within its core or nucleus. Normal momentum of space can not penetrate the event horizon of absolute zero heat energy propulsion from within each core. Circulation can only collect around the perimeter of event horizon perimeter spinning heat faster at the event horizon perimeter as magnetism centrifugal force cycling circulation within its field like a record on a record player centrifugal force of external magnetic fields don't ground currents through the nucleus or core. External heat energy outside of entanglement of mass doesn't ground currents. Mass occupies space within it and traveling through space as space itself as cold repulsion within and without mass. Shivering is rapid heat loss. Standing next to fire and absorbing heat energy into internal fields biologically stopping, shivering. Magnetism explains everything about physics without gravity and bending space and electricity. Gravity doesn't exist. It doesn't belong in physics. You can't prove hypothesis. Two facts of physics cold repulsion to heat propulsion from repulsion as perpetual motion momentum velocity as normal space as a weak external magnetic field filled with dark heat energy outside of entanglement of mass and mass as magnetic fields centrifugal forces of cycling circulation patterns faster than normal momentum of space itself. Mass doesn't burn it disolves as external energy outside of entanglement mass conservation of heat energy singularities outside of entanglement of mass as dark heat energy throughout space. Temperature equalization throughout space as magnetism centrifugal force cycling circulation faster than normal momentum of space as mass.

There are also clear cultish aspects: playing on the punters feelings of inferiority re maths by insisting that this is all mumbo-jumbo anyway, and also playing on their feelings of having been had by incessant dark hinting at conspiracies and dogmatic priesthoods.
However, did WT ever make any substantial sums out of the grift? My impression is that he and his cohorts were mostly after a bit of recognition, an adoring and adulating audience.
Also, I note that the followers here are united in their hatred of mainstream "gatekeepers" and their mathphobia, but beyond that none of them can give a clear or coherent account of eu teachings, when gently prompted.

Not to my knowledge. It depends how they divvied up any income from conferences and merchandise. I can't imagine there was all that much. The bulk of the funding came from a Velikovskian by the name of A. Bruce Mainwaring. He funded Talbott and others (including his son, Scott Mainwaring, who is/was with the EU crowd), via his charity, Mainwaring Archive Foundation (MAF).
Between 2001 and 2017 the charity paid Talbott over $2m for 'production of book'! A bunch of misinterpreted mythological woo, that likely sold only a few dozen copies! Even Stephen King would be jealous of such a return per sale!
The charity also funded the SAFIRE scam to the tune of ~ $4m from 2013-19*. And the EUists complain that they can't research their woo for lack of the type of funding 'mainstream' receives!
They could have set up scholarships for EUists to attend university, and finally have someone qualified in plasma physics! Or any sort of physics, for that matter.
Anthony Peratt and his son also copped for ~ $300 000 over a number of years, to research his plasma rock art woo. Funnily enough, Peratt was on the editorial board of the IEEE plasma science journal at the time, which just happened to coincide with EU woo turning up in 'invited' editions edited by.......guess who? They had never appeared in that journal previously, nor have they since. It appears they have since fallen out, with Peratt referring to EU as 'anti-science' and a 'cult'. Only after he had taken the money, though!
      * How that funding occurred looked to me to be contrary to US tax laws. I did inform the US IRS. Suffice to say that MAF no longer fund the EU from what I have heard. More details available if required :)

Add that to the seeming drying up of funds from MAF, and I'd say they are royally screwed. Nobody left to make up new woo and sell it to the great unwashed. They just have Finn and Drew to rehash the previously debunked woo, as well as posting old stuff like this ^.
