The gradual increase in the iPhone technology that was so incremental makes me remember the first iPhone as being amazing. I don’t remember the limitations, but of course that’s how I’d remember, because at the time there was nothing to compare it to. It just seemed like an amazing device. The possibilities seemed endless. Just to hold it, and no matter where you were, you had something to play with and look at and scroll through. That was the beginning of the takeover of our attention spans.

Tristan Trang //RealTristan// TTS seriously? I have an iPhone 7s and a Samsung galaxy s6, the Samsung galaxy phone is bigger. And I know that Samsung isn't android but it runs android.
Reminder that the first iPhone couldn't copy and paste but DARED to call themselves smartphones. Blackberry phones 5 years older than the original iPhone could copy and paste.
are you honestly going to criticize the phone that started it all? That started this full-screen trend? If iPhones never existed smartphones these days would not have been this complex. Having said all this, I do admit that iPhones are crap these days.
Am I the only one switching over just for a change in scenery? I started out with the S2 and ever since then I switched to having 3 iPhones. Now for my next upgrade I'm getting the Pixel 2 (if that becomes a thing). I honestly like both Apple and Android. They both have their pros and they both have their cons. Does it really matter? A phone is a phone. Lol
If they collaborated their ideas in to one phone it'd be amazing! They are both good and bad in certain areas! This is coming from someone who has had both Apple and Android! I don't have a favorite! Like I said, they're both good and bad in their own ways! I just want a change from the iPhone after having 3 iPhones!
I think that apple phones are good because of their branding and firmware. They're not better per say, but since iOS runs on specific machines, apps can be better optimized for the hardware. Kind of like consoles. In that logic, androids are like PCs: better speced but not suited for every task(Unless it's an expensive one).I don't know how an android-apple colaborative effort would benefit them.
im so jealous about how pristine your 2g is. mine's broken to hell and now useless thanks to the bad touch on it. congrats on getting one so nice, man!
That's why most iPhone people make payments instead of buying full price unlocked, btw I was an iPhone fanboy since the 3g but switched when the galaxy s7 edge first came out
The iOS/iPhone vs Android arguments. Everyone wants something different from a smartphone. There is no better smartphone or OS, it's about what's better for you as an individual. Personally I don't mind as long as it's a flagship powerful device, from which ever manufacturer, that's what I aspire to in a smartphone but I see everyone arguing here that this or that is better; it's not it's just better for you, and a different option is better for others. Some like Apple some like Samsung, some like Xiaomi some like OnePlus. Some like to skip smartphones completely. Doesn't matter accept the phone choices people make and stop having wars about them on UA-cam or elsewhere
Truth :) It's pointless trying to convince those who "discuss" it in these comments though. Hopefully they'll realize that it isn't a zero-sum game at some point :)
AIRDRAC Hopefully, it's just sad seeing people arguing about phones when there are bigger issues in life. Besides some people can even get the phone they'd like cos they can't afford it, while others can afford to tie themselves to one manufacturer whatever the cost.
lmao I would agree with you but no.....opinions blah blah blah....everything is good with opinions until some apple fuck comes along and calls android poor people phones and slow and laggy...theres a reason why we have these debates and one will always be better...and no this world will never be a peace loving caring world with no debates...😉
I remember those days. The IPhone was ages past Android. It took years for Android to catch up in features hardware, practicality. I remember switching between Android iOS and I kept reverting back to iOS. When Android finally came out with a Netflix app I slowly started to turn back to Android. After Android caught up they started making way more features that apple started copying. I currently use iOS as my pixel 2 alarms don't go off for whatever reason. Shoultdo a video on the original cellphone if you're going to talk about kids these days. Remember the days of pagers or were you even conceived?
I loved my htc dream. The keyboard was amazing. Unless you have used it either you don't understand. I wish phones had physical keyboards like that. I guess the touch keyboard works fine enough but having the physical buttons was much more satisfying to type on.
pluto ! lol, when I was 11 I had a "swipe" phone, like how the android is, except it didn't have a touch screen; it easy just had a tiny screen with the regular button numbers. It makes me sad when I see anyone younger than 11 with a smartphone
and i baught it with my own hard earned money because my old phone did not have a good camera (at that time ) and my new phone had a better camera . (I love taking photos since i was 10 ) 😂
pluto ! Haha, my first smart phone was a Samsung Galaxy core I also got it when I was 12, but as a gift for repeatedly placing well in uil (it's a school thing)
Even though EAP is one of my favorite apple youtubers, he forgot to mention one thing, Apple did not have the same amount of money and technology as Google, which at the time was one of the biggest manufacturer in 2007-2008, this meant that there was no servers that could be used for the app store. Once the Apple iPhone was released, people wondered how to install applications and new things to try. It bored people. Android had games, apple did not. Android had apps, apple did not. But Apple made Google step up their game. The Play Store would not have existed if it wasnt for the apple app store. People should be thanking apple for reinvented the future. Google may have made the internet easier but a device that you could carry around, make calls, have a big screen to watch videos and see photos, that was all apple. Please no hate, this is just what my honest opinion and some basic facts.
Even if he is biased... its his channel, in the end you the viewer decides whats better. His opinion/review is and never will be fact. Just look for specs and compare, thats where a proper judgement can be made.
Am I the only one who actually likes the mix between touch screen, scroll wheel, and keyboard on the android phone? I'd be in love if they did that with a new Android (of course with a few fixes like touchscreen keyboard). A keyboard would be awesome for quick typing, touchscreen is just needed, scroll would be faster for alot of things, etc. I would love this..
Babystonerock Zyier A Phone That Costs A Lot That Only Does The Same Things As All The IPhones?? Hell No. And Stop Saying That Android Users can't afford a android..i'm actually an iOS User Too but casually Android it's better un many ways.
The first iPhone was released 1 and a half year before the FIRST Android phone... there is no question whatsoever that Android was absolutely an effort to copy the revolutionary iPhone system and hardware, which was different from everything else that existed at the time. iPhone was also the first mobile phone with multi-touch technology(the LG Prada did have capacitive touch, but not multi-touch).
like the video said, eventho appale had headphone jack back then, u will still required to use their earphones as the jack is sinked down.. normal earphones would not fit.. unless that 3rd party earphones are made to support iphones.. i had the iphone 2 that time.. n the reason is only to show off (my country only started officially bringing in iphone 3) mine was refurbished n brought back from the states.. haha.. using huawei now..
The comparison is not really fair and actually a little bit wrong. The first iPhone was released June 29, 2007. The first version of Android and the first Android device (the G1 in this video) was released September 23, 2008. More than year after the iPhone. At that time the second generation of iPhones and the second major version of iPhone OS (later renamed to iOS) including the App Store were already released (July 11, 2008). So actually the Apple App Store is older than Android itself. And the G1 actually had to stand up against the second generation of iPhones.
While I concede the point of the app store the Iphone 3g, which came out july 2008, on paper still was worse than the T-mobile G1, on paper though I don't have them on hand to make a fair assessment.
Even back then Apple was screwing over their customers by making them pay for overpriced headsets from Apple. Same way they make you guys pay for storage instead of adding an SD card. That's too big reasons right there a while I'll never purchase an Apple product
They came with the earphones (I wonder if that Android phone did...), and I wouldn't want an SD card. Don't worry that much about us, most of us like Apple's philosophy of clean, uncluttered design and devices, and don't feel screwed over at all. And seeing that Android phones still pretty much follow anything Apple does, you can pretty much say goodbye to the earphone jack, SD card (do they still have them?); and hello to screen notch (for now), and any goddamned design concept and direction that Apple decides to follow. It's pretty ironic that some people tend to stereotype Apple users as sheep, and they end up pretty much following the same steps...
I leave that kind of masochistic impulses for people that prefer to deal with their half finished and unpolished devices. I just rather go about my business without having to deal with my phone constantly to see if it updates regularly, or apps behave as they should, etc... If you like the tinkering, then enjoy, who knows how long you have since they all want to become like Apple. And don't get me wrong, I hope there will remain technology you can tinker and open source software. I just feel sorry for closet elitists that think that others don't know what are they doing when they chose the technology that better serves them.
You don't get it, I don't give a rat's ass who manufactures the components of the phone I use. I only care that the phone I use offers me the features that I need, in a way that I enjoy using it, and I feel that the product is consistently improving from the usability as well as the security standpoint. You don't seem to understand much about technology. There is a lot of stuff developed by University Labs and all kinds of technology companies, every phone out there uses patents by somebody else. And you assume a lot about who created the things that you mentioned. And I am not going to waste my time educating you. But I can tell you one thing, based on the amount of phone users out there creating this kind of "my phone is better than an iPhone, Apple users are fools than don't know any better " videos, inferiority complex is on the rise. You could wonder why Apple users don't feel the need to do the same, IMHO is clear, they are pretty happy with their phones; using them and enjoying them in their regular lives, instead to be focusing on them all the time and having to prove that that their devices are better and that makes them smarter.
I don't really compare them, I just visit this page for some nostalgic impulse I guess. I spent enough time years ago tinkering with icon, themes, and all kinds things on Linux, FreeBSD, Macs... Now a lot of the technology has advanced enough to be actually a lot more usable, so I can focus on other things that I like better. Another thing I don't miss too much is wasting time discussing silly opinions in forums. So have fun with whatever you use, and I hope that whatever theme you choose for your icons improves your quality of life.
Yeah cause we still want to charge our phones and listen to music. True you can do that with wireless charging, oh wait sorry that's another feature apple doesn't have ;)
Obviously everyone has a taste in different style. I believe android and apple are just as good as each other, and at the end of the day it's just a phone
You think that because you didn’t study the “phone”, didn’t invest money and didn’t understand that are part of our life. We communicate, we take care about health, we protect our privacy choosing a product or another. So isn’t only a phone
Blake Perry technically it's a PC, it has a CPU, a GPU, Ram, storage, OS and I/O ports. So phones today are mini pocket pc's. S8 with DEX dock is the best example

People see what they want to see. They had to justify the price tag somehow. If that means a phone "feel" better then people will say it is better.

Mike Mayaka: Sir, you deserve my like.

"I've been shameless by stealing great ideas"
(Man that quote is amazing, who said that)
Steve Jobs!
@Xtrz 104 Well done with the comeback, just laying down the facts man. You've totally convinced me yep IOS is better than Android mhmm.
I really wish more people would realize that.
Exactly thank you for being the only one seemingly aware of this glaring error made in this video
Actually iphone came jan 9 2007 later worldwide was in june 29 2007. So the real date is even earlier.
José Reino slap yourself
So have fun with whatever you use, and I hope that whatever theme you choose for your icons improves your quality of life.
remember when you couldn't afford any of them? 😂😂

apple sheep will sell their soul for a "just a phone", they think it's the holy grail
Blake Perry at the end of the day apple is still scamming you
You think that because you didn’t study the “phone”, didn’t invest money and didn’t understand that are part of our life.
