Bad wheel bearing - E46 M3

Had a weird sound after my wet Laguna Seca track days last weekend. Found my front wheel bearing is completely shot and spewing grease.
Pretty lucky nothing came apart when I was out on track!
Good example for anyone looking to hear a bad bearing.
~129k miles and 21 track days.
I removed the front dust shields per the AP Racing big brake kit manual. Curious if this contributed to the failure or if the age was really the main cause. Will never know.
At least the front bearings are much easier to replace than the rears.
