Ogden Cattle Co. Hangin Tree Cowdogs 'Fetching Weaned Heifers'

- Had to gather a set of weaned heifers so we sent the cowdogs out. Had one at the beginning who didn't want to go but once she started moving they left her alone. Dogs knew to push the heifers through the gate and get around them again and bring them back. Several heifers came back through the gate but the dogs got them stopped and turned. We gave them little direction while gathering and they did a good job.
Love watching these dogs work.
Thank you for not putting annoying music in your video.
Brilliant dogs. Brilliant video.
I love watching videos of farmers from other countries watching working dogs.
Something we take for granted in Australia .
I'm only taking a stab at the figures but I think 1 good dog
Is equal to four horseman.
A good working dog in Australia
can sell for in excess of $30,000
Hey, wanna buy a dog? 😂
Now that’s what I’m talkin about. Good wrangling boys . Right On brother
Fantastic dogs.
I used to help cowboy for a small cow calf ranch near here when I was a kid.
There was always that one old cow that spent all of her time worrying about where the dog was instead of keeping up with the herd.
I rode a little quarter horse Appaloosa grade mare who would get fed up and I would let her "git after her"
Ears back, she would run in and get some and get 'ol stubborn moving with the herd.
The rancher we helped thought one dog was enough.
love seeing dog work
So intelligent
Wow amazing
I don’t live on a ranch and don’t have any cows, but this was awesome to watch!
Nice dogs brother!
amazing dogs.
What!!! Wow, the training and dedication really shows in your working dogs, just watching all 4 sit like that at your command was awesome to see! You really have THE example of how working dogs should perform. Thanks for sharing!!!👍
Just plain old good work Brother. Bob from Philadelphia
Really nice! No fuss, no muss, just did their job and ended it when whistled down.
amazing to watch. especially at the end when you just whistled and all 4 dogs laid down at once! it's hard enough for most people to get one dog to lay down, let alone 4.
Incredible. ..
Great dogs
Those dogs are so smart.
I'm not sure if 4 riders on horseback could have done that any better or any faster!! Tremendous dogs AND handler. Hat's off to you.
Superb.
They are very smart...We have a mix and she is such a smart dog..Love to watch them work

You're lucky they don't have thumbs to close the gates cause then they would have no use for you. LOL
perfect work:)
Diana Olszewska
Luved it but it does seem like there are too many dogs out there..still being trained? I've seen one experienced dog do the same thing.
-- I like this is dogs !
love it
Bad ass bud
Rattling an empty bag of cattle cubes after honking the truck horn three times works too.
Only if you feed them frist if you don't they run the other way
Great
I can see that heifer at the beginning of the clip as being trouble when she has a calf.
Yea but she would fight coyotes
I wish my bosses had half the IQ of any one of those dogs.
Robert Clolery "
be a hero and tell you,re bosses that..:)
You mean the owner I think you must be like those working dog.
Can they close the gate?
lolthat one aint having it
I have an Australian Kelpie i am just teaching him to go down...How do I teach him "go by and "away to me"... how does he get to know the calls if it is all done in the round pen.
shall try this when we get to the point of being able to go down and stay for that short period..... he comes and he knows his name... he is getting there on a leash, but prefers to walk behind me rather than on my side, which i find most frustrating.... however, if I can break him of it I will...... walk at heal is a much easier way to go. How big should my pen be for the controlled environment and should it be round? can i work this with sheep or is it better to work the two commands with cattle, i have cattle......
come by........ is that on the left side or the right side......and here also...which side. I suspect the yard is treated like a clock face.....which way should the cattle run clock wise or anti-clock wise. sorry for all the questions i am really new at this, I run sheep and cattle and need a good fully trained dog....I have for the last few years been doing it with the ute and just me....but as the numbers increase it has got harder...
Would those dogs bring cattle in without your direction.? I mean trained dogs. Not pets. They seem to know to go way out to circle. I feel some is instinct with a lot of good training.
where can I get one
Dude, those are some awesome dogs! hats off to you!
I should send my Rottie bitch to you to teach her how to work cattle!
I ran a German Shepherd with the Queens Healer, The dog work good as a team.
