I applied to 10 schools. Here’s what happened.

Still feel like a 10th grader. Still don't know entirely what I'm gonna do, but I'll figure it out. Looking back, I made a big mistake: I focused on the future. My teacher once told me that "the future is not a current that pushes you wherever it so chooses, so don't let it be". I think I get it now. The best way I can put it is with a metaphor. You're the one steering, and you decide the destination at any and every given moment. Know that you can change course every so often and still find your way, but don't do it rashly, then you'll get lost. Stay on the look-out for the destination, but don't let your eyes miss out on the views (ships and storms and islands and all that gushy stuff and ~ clarity ~). In an open ocean, you can create (not 'choose') one path of infinite possibilities.
Super gushy words of wisdom there from an 18 year old ;) That’s obvi not the only mistake I made, and it's not the last.
