Thanks, as always, for such a thorough review! One thing to note: Since sending the blaster to you, we have started using semi-permanent thread locker on all the fully assembled SLABs that leave the warehouse, so that catch issue should not be a recurring issue. We also highly recommend using thread locker or plumber's thread tape if you choose to purchase the 3D parts + hardware kits and build it yourself.
This thing is really really cool. Cool enough that Coop had to wear sunglasses the whole review to match the coolness. But I wish there was a shroud or something over the barrel so it wasn't just hanging out there in space. I think it would look much cooler if it was hidden and would also make it more "public safe" by having a big visible orange end instead of a raw metal barrel.
Correct. The OOD SLAB is supposed to have teflon tape or thread lock on the threaded rod, because they use a metal insert instead of having people thread the rod directly into the print.
So we've got a lever action blaster with good performance and Coop still has his shades. Terminator 2 vibes. Who's to say that the eye surgery didn't involve Coop being turned into a Terminator? :3
I ASKED MY SURGEON TO JUST REPLACE THE WHOLE THING WITH THE TECH DEADSHOT OR MAD EYE MOODY USES! BUT HE PRETENDED LIKE THAT STUFF DOESN'T EXIST. #ILLUMINATICONFIRMED

oh my goodness, that mega dart trick is super useful!!! i did it on my Shellington Wingchester and it helped with the comfortability of priming with the back of my fingers again!! thank you for the idea Coop :)
I'm a performance nerfer, and this performed fantastic in a war. Very good and right on par with the Talonclaw for usefulness. Paracord wrap is great on this blaster. I got some silver colored 550 cord from Amazon for my slab and it was comfortable to shoot without gloves the whole day in an 8hr war.
Honestly, With how cool this Blaster is, I'm SURPRISED you didn't make any TERMINATOR References. Heck, You've Got the Shades to do it! In all Seriousness though, that looks like a SERIOUSLY FUN Blaster to Mess around with. Looking forward to whatever content you've got Next!
The reload being light is probably due to the fact that it's assisted by the lever itself. Amplifying the force you put in cucking the lever. And damn it's a sleek design for a foam dart gun.
Hi Coop772, you should really review the TASKQWIK blaster. I think you'd like it. (It has an N-Strike barrel lug, tacticool rails, and a stock attachment point)
I don’t care on what you are reviewing I just want to let you know coop you will probably not see this comment but I’ve been watching for 3 years now and I just want to let you know you are a great UA-camr nerf reviewer and keep up the good work 👍
Plus even if you are the real frank cooper (legend) I’m quite young not saying how old I just wanted to spread some love and cheer for the holiday season
For affordability: The hardware kit for the SLAB on Out Of Darts it cheaper than a Talon Claw kit. However that requires YOU to print the blaster and it does take 2-3 rolls of filament total.
They are working on adding an interactive color picker. The website platform they use makes that a major pain in the butt, so they haven't been able to do it until now.
Call it "Mermaid's Tail and Tangerine" all you want, we all know that's the Elite 2.0 color scheme. If only Hasbro actually made blasters on this level!
Hey coop, I’ve really tried to make a homemade rainbow pistol and I’ve been struggling. But it would be really nice if you could make a tutorial on how to make one. I would really appreciate it
this seems like a perfect blaster to review during the mandatory sunglasses period. All you're missing is a cowboy hat and you can properly roleplay an old west gunslinger!
QUESTIONS! Is it possible to "flick prime" this blaster? I.e not a full 360 rotation, but can you prime it by flicking it forward/downward and then back? Also, is the plunger padded?
You can NOT flick it to prime, but you CAN prime, then spin it a full 360. I have several videos of spinning the SLAB on my YT channel. The plunger head IS padded.
Hey coop772 I was wondering how effective this at ranges of 15-35 meters. Would it take down a small doe if I install pins into the dart tips and add a bump stock? Hit me up when you get a chance!
I've experienced the trigger linkage issue a couple times now just last night (it's my only issue fortunately). Mildly frustrating, but takes little to no time to remedy. Have been trying to thread the rod out just a bit further than necessary against the catch whenever the problem crops up.
@@Sillybutts Ah, thank you! Just read your comment about OoD's rod cap which is where I purchased mine. I'll go ahead and dab on some threadlocker then. My first 3D printed blaster btw & your design's made it a fantastic foray for me into this space.
@@Stevenwave- I think it’s an amazing blaster for half darts but we don’t have any out of the box good lever action blasters in the hobby so a full length dart version that shoots around 100 fps would be nice to get people who are not modders or performance oriented into lever action blasters
With that dart speed, what is the maximum distance for a shot that is still considered an accurate shot. Fast is good but an accurate range would be nice to know too.
I haven't watched American Foam's review yet (if memory serves, he has one up), but he always does a longer range test outdoors, which gives an idea of how much reach and how accurate at a longer range it'll be.
Unrelated to this particular video, are there other versions of the nerf rockets? Better/worse, I got a used demolisher recently and it didn't come with any. Looking to purchase and I wondered if there was improved designs.
Personally, the SLAB does nothing for me. I plinked a bit with one, between rounds, a while back. I much prefer the feel of my Wingchester. But the design is cool and several of the foam flingers I know are excited about it

There is a muzzle attachment for the SLAB. It also lets you fire MegaXL off the end!
The OOD SLAB uses a custom design for the printed part of the linkage, the stock part holds the rod very snuggly and requires a tool to twist.
This is an OOD slab.
@@space_designs Which is why it has the issue.
Correct. The OOD SLAB is supposed to have teflon tape or thread lock on the threaded rod, because they use a metal insert instead of having people thread the rod directly into the print.
Coop got one of our earliest units. They now get loctite on the insert part, which solves this issue.
