Fighters are often trained to do this. In a fight, a person can appear to be knocked out only for it turn out they were just dazed and they regain lucidity soon after being knocked down. To avoid this possibility fighters are told to keep hitting their opponent to make sure they won't get back up.

I disagree. Until the fight is finished you have to do everything within the rules to win.
There is also a fine line between a stunned fighter and a clearly ko'ed one.
It's the refs job to stop the fight if someone isn't defending themselves. Not their opponent.
Now if the ref taps you and Tim ignore it then it turns from a sport into assault.

Bisping shortly after the first hendo fight would Illegally knee Jorge Rivera and finish him when he was still heavily concussed, after he won he would go on to spit on his cornermen and coach. Bisping also ended the career of one of my personal Favorite Middleweight Muay Thai strikers from back in the day Alan Belcher by eye poking him in his bad eye which he had previous surgery on. How the hell did Matt Riddle go from breaking people's jaws in just a few punches, and letting out barbarian battle cries to being Randy Orton's laid back scootering stoner partner?

Definitely could have included Valentina knocking out Jessica with that headkick. I mean she was out cold for about a whole minute. It was looking bad.

In the ring no one is forced to fight. Who is in an UFC Ring must know and accept whats going on. In a Selfdefense i would kick the head off the shoulders from that guy who jumps an my brother/friend on the ground and punches even my friend/familymember is KOed. Thats why UFC and MMA dont work in every case on the real SD, just try this shit when a few friends of your victim stands around...
