That fight was 6 years ago when Diaz was pretty much in his prime. He’s old asf right now and is going against a killer in his prime. I’m not counting Diaz out but at the same time, I believe he’s going to get killed
Díaz had reach and height advantage over McGregor, he also fought at 170 many times before McGregor (145champ at that time) chose to fight at a weight class where he had no gas tank nor experience. McGregor is natively small if not average at best (in terms of size). Chimaev is a huge 170er, he can barely make weight sometimes. He’s also in his prime, Nate isn’t anymore.
that was conor not khamzat, diaz is known to have a great chin and conor his way to win that fight was by a ko so i don't know why people were counted diaz out against conor cause he clearly had a great chance of winning back then, but it's a whole different story right now, he clearly has no chance, khamzat has power in his hands and he's bigger and has great wrestling and great chin so no he barely has a chance against him.
Difference is Conor was a FW/LW fighting at welterweight. Nate will get ragdolled by a proper welterweight, just like against Macdonald.
Nate is hard to ko. He can get a tko or submitted though. If it goes the distance I think he loses 3-2 (wins 4th & 5th)
His best chance is to throw up a submission when he gets taken down. I think that’s how he’s most likely to win if he does.

I’ve been watching UFC over 15 years and I’ve seen worse matchups. Nate could win. Khamzat is not a great striker, Gilbert exposed that. He also looked like he was gassing in round 2. His base is wrestling and Nate has great jiu jitsu and judo. Khamzat is definitely a scary dude, but when he goes in there with top level fighters he isn’t as scary anymore.

Nate has a 10% chance of winning at best, so it's a bad matchup and most likely an uncompetitive fight. Khamzat knocked Burns down with strikes. Khamzat wasn't "gassed". Nate is not a top level fighter. He's old and on the verge of retirement. Khamzat is 10 years younger, bigger, better, stronger etc...
Nate and Nick have already shown that they can be dominanted by strong wrestlers. Hell look what leon and Jorge did on the ground with Nate and they are both strikers

If Usman gets the title back, he's not going to move up and the move to lightweight makes no sense. Except in Jiu Jitsu, Conor Mcgregor was better in every way and Khamzant could not dominate Gilbert Burns.
Same build and Khamzat is 6'1 and Nate is 6'0 so no idea what massive size advantage you're on about. You can admit you're a casual dw, also Diaz has better cardio, volume, boxing and Jiu-Jitsu. But Chimaev's wrestling will most likely negate the BJJ cause wrestlers sit on you and stop movement instead of Jiu-Jitsu guys who advance in position.
