Schumacher Winter Series Rd2 - Louth Radio Controlled Car Club - B Final 10/11/2024. Xray X4 '23

Round 2 of Louth club's Schumacher winter series. We didn't do round 1, but decided to give it a go following our visit to their club day the Saturday previous.
I swapped the chassis to carbon and the diff to 5k oil to give myself the best chance at this event. I had the idea of changing the roll centre shims at the same time so it all fell into place doing the chassis swap. I'd tried running a low roll centre at Newark, but wanted the initial grip from a high roll centre so went all the way up. I later changed this for round 3 or 4 as I couldn't get the car working well as it was.
Qualifying wasn't too bad with 3 top 10 scores in round leaving me with 2 8's and putting me 4th on the grid in the B final. The car was still lacking a bit in rotation, but it was moving in the right direction at least.
The final was a little uneventful. I had to left off on the first corner to avoid running into the back of James. This let Marty past, but luckily I found him on his roof and then a couple of laps later round James in a similar state.
From then on I was holding onto the last podium spot and on the last few corners having to defend hard to keep James behind me. All good fun.
