Thank you for sharing. I have a Zeiss microscope electric lifting surgical chair. Recently, I found that it cannot be powered on, and I'm wondering if you could share some information on the maintenance and repair of electric lifting surgical chairs. Thank you.

I feel so lucky to have found your channel, I havent found anything else that gives me this much insight into what the field is actually like. I'm getting my associate's degree in electronics in about a year but I only have experience in customer service related jobs (besides a few hours of lab work everyday for classes). I was wondering if this would negatively affect my job prospects and what I could do to become a better candidate for a bmet position. Would I first need to get internship experience before being considered for a job?

Every hospital has different needs Nd requirements. Apply for every position possible - even the ones you clearly dont qualify for. Get your name out to those directors who run Biomed departments. They will contact you if they can use you - even if they need to move people around in their shop. Good luck.

Hello do you sell, or maybe you could let me know where to get the rubber “things” that are at the botton of the foot pedal. I am missing one, the one located at the left back. And the foot pedal is not stable and wiggles

@@BetterBiomedChannel they are glued. Those are like a cone. 2.5 cm on one side (base) and 2 cm on the smaller side

Did you go to a surgical microscope school from Leica or Zeiss? We have ours on contract and would love to learn more about them and eventually get them off contract. Do you think the time and energy is worth having them off contract?

I have never been to any microscope schools. I have ~17 yrs experience around surgery and various microscopes. I've torn Penteros and S8s down to the frame and I've had lots of experience.
To contract or not to contract is a very complex answer.. You location, history of users abuse, biomed man power, biomed competency, budget etc have to be considered. I think Pentero and esp Kinevo need to be under contract simply because of the complexity and lack of documentation available of systems. I do have the password to get into service mode but other than clear Maintenance Due errors, it's not an area to goof around in. S8 Movino, Sensera etc is a whole other issue. Those scopes are far simpler.
One thing that does matter is that usually contracts are not worth it if you compute the time and materials of all the normal failures through a year. It's a gamble. Although you are at the mercy of the manufacturer without a contract, one time service calls / contracts are usually a big money saver. Only 10-20% of full service contracts are ever money savers. If you have a fleet of devices and all are under full service contract, 1 /10 might fail in such a way that you save money by having the contract. Without a full service contract, 4/10 would need to have a major failure to equal the cost of the fleet contract. Some people will disagree and argue with me but I challenge anyone to do a real cost analysis of all the service calls placed on any item over a year.
