An interesting note about Bite Force. Generally Spinosaurs have a Crocodilian-Like Head, in fact the speculation that Spinosaurs primarily ate Fish and may have been Aquatic came from their Croc-Like Features. Anyhow, a contender for the Strongest Bite Force of Modern Day Animals are Crocodiles, and due to the similar Skull, A Spinosaurus Bite Force may come no where near a Tyrannosaurus but it probably did greatly exceeds most Modern Animals
I know that it was stated by the creatores but i find funny that the rex killed by spino was called juvenille just after the rage of the fans after JPIII but in movie they literaly used the adult trex animatronic from JPII XD
The JP III Rex-Spino fight was really bungled. They were so desperate to promote the Spino as the new Super Bad Guy that they put the fight early in the movie, and made it a quick knockout. A fight between two giant therapods was the one big novelty in that movie. They should have teased a confrontation early in the movie, but saved it for the last act. And then, it should have been longer and more dramatic.
That likely would've been better, but they had the spino lay out the rex immediately to set him up as a dangerous antagonist. Plus it didn't help that the rex animatronic got broken which I'm pretty sure cut the fight even shorter
Clint's Reptiles put out a video near the end of last month talking about all the members of the Spinosaur family, it might be a good idea to check that out as a companion to this video; also, there are some things said in this video that are a bit different than what was said in that video, but this is ironically in line with our knowledge of Spinosaurids. Fun fact : Jurassic park creator was actually an active T-rex hater hints why as soon as spino was created, the creator immediately attempted to replace the T-rex with the spino as the apex dinosaur which immediately backfired due to the 4th movie taking longer to release. As far as accuracy....realistically there is no carnivorous dinosaur that can beat a T-rex more times than not. The only way a spino would win against a rex is in the water.
In the jp3 movie the spino was not like the spino we know now, and your argument to defend back the lost of the T-Rex is insane 😂 a T-Rex hater? 😂 There is no way this is your argument and can't just accept spino is stronger. And ofc the apex was replaced I don't want to see T-Rex as the apex lredator in every movie that's going to be boring and I think a lot of people share the same opinion as mine.
Pretty accurate video though there are a few things I feel you forgot to mention that are important. *For the Jurassic Park Spinosaurus:* - During the start of JP3, the Spino was shot by Cooper's Einhorn 20mm Rifle, which destroyed a plane with one shot. We hear the Spino roaring during those shots yet we see it had no damage done to it. This durability easily exceeds anything we've seen in the Jurassic franchise. - Stamina. After the gun assault, Spino got clipped by the charging plane the proceeded to destroy it. Shortly after that it followed the group and fought an Adult Tyrannosaurus quickly dispatching it within minutes. All this takes places with 20 minutes. This is insane stamina. Easily the best in the franchise. - Intelligence. Spino was written on the script to be highly adaptable and aware. We saw some of this transpire in the movie. It quickly snapped the Bulls neck and ducked under the plane after Amanda screamed. That's high intelligence. - Spino withstood getting burned alive for a good minute before retreating during the boat sequence. This just shows how high its pain tolerance is. - During the events of Camp Cretaceous, Spinosaurus had been bitten by Big Eatie abruptly 5 times. No visible damage seen. Another showcase of insane durability and thick hide. P.S. The metal fence wasn't rusted and towards the far right during that scene, you'll see the rest of the fence reaction to that power burst. *Now for the "paleo accurate" Spinosaurus:* - There is evidence of a Carcharadontosaurus vertebra that had a Spinosaurus tooth embedded in. The fossil specimen was sold under a private collector but images of it still are accessible. This is evidence that such fights did break out. - The largest Spinosaurus specimen is a humerus called NMC 41852 that is over 50% greater than the neotype. Scaling it up from the model given by Ibrahim et al. 2020 and using the densities provided by Larramendi et al. 2020 with the disparity in size SpinoInWonderland (a paleoartist) got with it and the neotype it would have been around ~16.65 meters long and weighed around ~14,340kg. It possibly represents the largest known theropod and largest predatory animal capable of locomotion on land, only rivaled by Deinosuchus hatcheri.
-we heard shots but never saw spino get shot, in fact there was no visible wounds to imply it either. How did spino get damaged by a plane clipping it but no wound from a 20mm rifle that could destroy planes? Make it make sense We heard shots but that’s it, Cooper either shot at another animal or missed(there’s even rumors that there was suppose to be a baby spino scene, where cooper shoots it and the adult gets mad. And with the crappy production JP3 had, I wouldn’t doubt that was the original idea for that scene) -I-Rex fought an ankosaur, a team of soldiers, killed dozens of sauropods, got shot at by helicopter and rockets, fought a Rex and a raptor pack(and was willing to keep going) and brought down a whole park. all within the same day. So no spino doesn’t have the best stamina. Not even close -the neck snap is the smartest thing it did. And we can argue Giga using its tail to sense the ledge and turning around mid fight to use it or going for rexy’s legs, in the final battle, to keep her off balance is equally smart. Nothing stands out, spino didn’t even duck the plane on purpose, it ducked to reach cooper. You’re reaching here -it didn’t get engulfed by the flames, it got a little bit on its leg and ran off scared Giga literally ate fire and didn’t give up til it got an eye blown out by the taser(and If you see the final fight. You can see Giga’s eye is damaged. It manhandled rexy while handicapped) That seems more resilient to me You spino fanboys always trying to hype it up to the sun lmfao It never did anything showing high intelligence, heck it never even did anything particularly cruel or sadistic. It just ate the humans when it got the chance, I-Rex literally dismembers people, plays with its victims and kills Dinos for sport. That’s cruelty And y’all actually believe it could beat Indominus for that matter, with a straight face😭
@@GODEYE270115 Lmao, you seriously still trying to argue against canon material here? How sad are you? - Spino got shot and we hear it roaring in distress/anger. That's solidifies it. You saying otherwise is your opinion, which nobody cares for. Yeah... no visible damage on the Spino. That's why its durability is the strongest. Thanks for stating that 20 year + obvious fact lol. The plane hit the sail (which is all bone) there is little fleshing there compared to its entire scale like body. Even then, we see the sail quickly healed up within the fight scene. Lol rumors are your counter argument? Give a facts. In other words you got nothing. To quote the script "These two come highly recommended. That's right, I found the two best men I could possibly find" And yet none of those scale above the Spino. It caused the extinction of Sorna which was far dangerous dinosaurs looking at the list. Rockets? One missile which missed and blast radius effected it. Nothing compared to the 6 explosive shots we hear. This isn't including the other shots we heard before Udesky and Nash retreated. Kentosaurus swing to the face with no damage, several T.rex bites with no damage visible etc meanwhile Indominus struggled with a old Rexy and bleed. The list goes on. The neck snap alone is something Indominus couldn't do. The Giga was dumb given how 7 people were able to pass by it and hide behind the car. Let's not forget them climbing the ladder in front of it. The Spino ducked to reach Cooper? What? I'm talking about after the crash. Amanda screamed and the Spino ducked. Learn to read. The film clearly showed the burst of those flames reaching its face. The next panel shows it engulfed in the fire pushing away the construction bill. You're just yet again deliberately trying to downplay the Spinosaurus because you can't accept the facts. Breaking Nash's legs then watching him crawl. Proceeding to stomping on him then biting his head off. Explain that. It's like you're creating your own headcanon for the movie because of how much of a fanboy you are lol. Yap yap facts say otherwise given how the database supports it.
@@Unbearable_Truth Btw for the Spino getting hit by the plane feat, in the script it states that the plane actually hit it in the flank and that the propeller got snapped off

The thing about Irritator is bit more complicated, the paper which describes Irritators brain also notes how spinosaurus probably had a better sense of sight and also made better use of pressure receptors

You should do a video on Barosaurus, I mean its one of the largest animals discovered in the morrosin formation, and just over-all is a very interesting animal
Imo the accurate spinosaurus is a more interesting animal than the JP3 version. It's just so unique and was basically a therapod aquatic leviathan and would've been so cool to see irl
I do not think that comparing these 2 animals would be fair. One is a real animal that have evolved to fill a niche, and one is a movie character that has made to look cool and fun to watch.
I like this video because it directly confronts some of the reasons I loath JPIII. I always have to address the "It's based off what was known at the time" during debates; It wasn't. Practically everything about the JP Spino had no basis in fact. They took advantage of the fact that we didn't know much about Spinosaurus to insert ficticious capabilities that would allow it to not just fight a rex, but beat it. This doesn't surprise me seeing as the paleontologist advising the production team has, for some reason, a strong personal vendetta against T.rex with a history of pissing off the greater paleo community.
Uhh, you're wrong here. At the time of JP3, spinosaurus was basically thought to be a 60 foot long, 12-23 ton super-baryonyx with a sail on its back. The only thing that was changed about it was a thicker snout, some allosaur-like crests and the typical pronated wrists. Everything else was good for the time. There was basis on the facts of the time, which were what I listed above. Also spinosaurus beating T. rex is a really stupid reason to dislike a movie. That was one scene. There's a lot of bigger problems in JP3 than that.
@@Doomguyhunter1 I did say SOME of the reasons I don't like JPIII, and "basically thought" is too much credit. Even for what was then known about spinosaurus it doesn't hold up. You also just admitted they went so far as to change even what we DID know about spino at the time to fit what they WANTED spino to be, not what spino actually was. If I had a say in the matter spino wouldn't even have been a character. Too much was unknown to justify putting it into a franchise who's whole things was "This is what dinosaurs were actually like and how they'd interact with us."
@@Magnaraptor1836 They literally changed three features about it, and even if they didn't change those, it would've had no effect on the movie, except the spino looking slightly different. Three features is a lot less than a lot of other JP designs, like even the pretty accurate T. rex, which's arms were too big, their teeth were too knife-like, their tail was too short, their wrists were pronated, etc. And how is basically thought giving too much credit, when they got all the basics right, with some details being wrong? And spino being a bit of an enigma at the time is no justification for it not being in JP. One of the great things about the first two movies was that they brought badly known genera into the limelight. Some of those genera are Pachycephalosaurus and Velociraptor for example.
@@Doomguyhunter1 "They based it off what was known at the time but actually they changed things we did know at the time." Got the basics right? We didn't even know what the basics were until the the 2010s. It's not a Spinosaurus, it's a movie monster that shares the name and had greatly exaggerated characteristics not at all in-line with what was known.
@@Magnaraptor1836 And those exaggarated features are a thicker snout, small crests and wrists that are rotated a bit, that's not some gigantic difference. You're acting like they made it a 100 foot long monstrosity that has claws and teeth the size of rhinos or some other ridicolous shit like that, when it three slightly exaggarated or wrong features, THREE. And we did "know" the basics at the time, and they were that Spinosaurus was a 60 foot long, 12-23 ton super baryonyx with a sail on its back. That was a very reasonable conclusion for the time, because every at the time discovered spinosaurus looked a lot like a baryonyx. It just turned out those basics were wrong, but we can't blame them for not knowing that over ten years before they were proven wrong.
,, accurate,, is an overstatement when it comes to dinosaurus in general, more so in this particular case where we don't and can't really know much about Spinosaurus. These are only suppositions based on guessing. I know we like the creations of imagination, but reality might have very well been different.
8.3 tonnes is size of Spinosaurus cf. "aegypticus", the largest size for Spinosaurus. I think 7.7 tonnes would still be a large individual unless you have other information?
Another thing with the accurate spino the bone density is another reason it was most likely water capable because the density would help with diving Another thing is the accurate spinos arms were incredibly strong and would help to defend the spino but i do still think the jp spino would win
Indom tore through a steel gate, it appears it created two holes in the gate containing toro, and this gate was in better condition than the one spino broke through, despite it being reinforced, it was weakened by rust, which weakenes the steel. It also appears to have slowed the spino down given the fact it couldn't break through the door. And the indom also tore through a steel radio tower. I say those two the indom has shown are more impressive than the spino gate feat.
Jp spino takes major, major steroids. It'd smack all theropods, both irl and from the other films. Might be a controversial statement, but I stand by it.
@@GODEYE270115 the giga did that by twisting the neck of the rex. It's not easy to see due to the lighting and angle, but that's how the rex died. It wasn't the raw power of the bite. Giga's actual bite power is weaker than the rex's, as we see the biosyn giga (perfect clone of the prehistoric giga) failing to significantly damage Rexy with its jaws. It had to use its body strength to knockout Rexy with blunt force because it's jaws were so ineffective. Prologue's twisting tactic is functionally the same as what the jp3 spino did, and it is weaker than the cc spino. If that's not enough, Colin himself said spino > giga > trex in an interview
@@xenodragon77 Colin also said giga was the “joker” of the series, which in fact it wasn’t. He also said between the big 3, it could go either way. Let’s not mislead anyone here The prologue giga snapped the Rex one way or the other, why biosyn giga didn’t do the same is plot armor. Spino got tossed around by a 37ft long Rex and also lost to big eatie(who is substantially smaller than him) Prologue and Biosyn giga manhandled their opponents with ease. The species as a whole are top shelf fighters, spino would get wrecked Biggest terrestrial predator the world has ever seen > 🤷🏻♂️
@@GODEYE270115 that joker statement was a one off thing for marketing. Colin intended the giga to feel that way, and gave it a scar even for that, but botched it. Tho, it's more subjective than anything by nature of the concept The "spino=giga=rex" statement doesn't even mean that. He said they are "all apex predators of their era and of their area", meaning they are apexes of their environment, a statement which holds true in the vast majority of contexts. He never said "any of them could beat the other". That statement doesn't disprove spino > giga > rex, especially since it is in the exact same interview. The method is important because it requires the giga to have a bigger strength advantage and twist the neck to far to work, as opposed to just chomping through. Biosyn giga not using that is because it doesn't know that strategy. The spino is taller, stronger, heavier, more durable, and more flexible than a rex, and has functional arms. That tactic would be far harder to use if not blatantly fail Spino wasn't really tossed around in jp3. Bull pushed spino down from the side, but couldn't hold it down or make it lose its footing, so he pulls the spino around, however he struggles to do so and the spino breaks free. Bull rammed the spino and it just stumbled back a foot. When spino grabs Bull, the fight ends immediately. If you take the jp3 size charts as fact, the spino was also small back then, so "small rex" doesn't work cause the spino was small as well and it'd just upscale the big cc spino. If you don't, then Bull would be the size of Buck and spino would be a bit bigger. As for CC, the spino was mind controlled and being forced to fight a lot after being locked in a desert for awhile. Not much food, not much water, and skill/experience are gone because of mind control. Which, even then, spino still won when they actually fought. 1 bite was able to down Big Eatie. The only reason she didn't go down sooner was human skill issue stopping the spino from landing a decent hit. The combined efforts of Big Eatie, Little Eatie, Pierce, and the raptor's couldn't even get through the spino's skin. It just kept tanking. Where the giga needed to twist the rex's neck, the spino actually had the jaw power to take a rex down with biteforce alone. Combine this with useful arms and the spino being much more durable, and giga is not winning.
Personally, I don't really buy into the whole "the JP3 rex is a juvenile" thing everyone seems to be taking for granted. No, it wasn't a young animal and it was never meant to be one, they used the exact same practical and 3D models that were used for TLW's Buck, which is around the same size as Roberta/Rexy. The spinosaurus absolutely killed a full grown bull T. rex, Universal later retconned it after they received backlash from people who couldn't handle seeing one random movie monster kill another random movie monster. Retcons can be executed well on occasion - this was not one of them, therefore I don't think it should be as easily accepted as it seems to be. Personal ranting aside, great video, really enjoyed watching!
I have yet another question for the maker of this video. Here is my question: who do you think would win a head to head one on one fight to the death between a Saltwater Crocodile and a African male Hippopotamus. Could you please state your opinion as to which animal would win this fight and why? Could you please give reasons to support your answer. I await your reply.

Only smart animals can learn this quickly id say its smarter than the giga, ~rexy and a bit less intelligent than the raptors

An argentinosaurus hide can get priece by the bite of a mapusaurus
@@GhøstÉclipšë01 proof?
Pretty accurate video though there are a few things I feel you forgot to mention that are important.
*For the Jurassic Park Spinosaurus:*
- During the start of JP3, the Spino was shot by Cooper's Einhorn 20mm Rifle, which destroyed a plane with one shot.
*Now for the "paleo accurate" Spinosaurus:*
- There is evidence of a Carcharadontosaurus vertebra that had a Spinosaurus tooth embedded in.
For the Jurassic Park Spinosaurus, watch a video called Jack Horner on Spinosaurus. It should clear things up for you.
-we heard shots but never saw spino get shot, in fact there was no visible wounds to imply it either. How did spino get damaged by a plane clipping it but no wound from a 20mm rifle that could destroy planes? Make it make sense
We heard shots but that’s it, Cooper either shot at another animal or missed(there’s even rumors that there was suppose to be a baby spino scene, where cooper shoots it and the adult gets mad. And with the crappy production JP3 had, I wouldn’t doubt that was the original idea for that scene)
-I-Rex fought an ankosaur, a team of soldiers, killed dozens of sauropods, got shot at by helicopter and rockets, fought a Rex and a raptor pack(and was willing to keep going) and brought down a whole park. all within the same day. So no spino doesn’t have the best stamina. Not even close
-the neck snap is the smartest thing it did. And we can argue Giga using its tail to sense the ledge and turning around mid fight to use it or going for rexy’s legs, in the final battle, to keep her off balance is equally smart. Nothing stands out, spino didn’t even duck the plane on purpose, it ducked to reach cooper. You’re reaching here
-it didn’t get engulfed by the flames, it got a little bit on its leg and ran off scared
Giga literally ate fire and didn’t give up til it got an eye blown out by the taser(and If you see the final fight. You can see Giga’s eye is damaged. It manhandled rexy while handicapped) That seems more resilient to me
You spino fanboys always trying to hype it up to the sun lmfao
It never did anything showing high intelligence, heck it never even did anything particularly cruel or sadistic. It just ate the humans when it got the chance, I-Rex literally dismembers people, plays with its victims and kills Dinos for sport. That’s cruelty
And y’all actually believe it could beat Indominus for that matter, with a straight face😭
That's right, I found the two best men I could possibly find"
And yet none of those scale above the Spino.

Actually the trex was an adult in the Jurassic park 3, which confirmed that the bull was adult not young.
You should do Allosaurus next it would be interesting :)
*Also I wanna see my Allo BOIS in action!*
This is really giving me the Virgin versus the chat vibes

Indom tore through a steel gate, it appears it created two holes in the gate containing toro, and this gate was in better condition than the one spino broke through, despite it being reinforced, it was weakened by rust, which weakenes the steel. It also appears to have slowed the spino down given the fact it couldn't break through the door. And the indom also tore through a steel radio tower. I say those two the indom has shown are more impressive than the spino gate feat.

Prologue giganotosaurs one shotted a prime Rex in record time. Spino would get wrecked
Let’s not mislead anyone here
The prologue giga snapped the Rex one way or the other, why biosyn giga didn’t do the same is plot armor. Spino got tossed around by a 37ft long Rex and also lost to big eatie(who is substantially smaller than him)
Prologue and Biosyn giga manhandled their opponents with ease. The species as a whole are top shelf fighters, spino would get wrecked
Biggest terrestrial predator the world has ever seen > 🤷🏻♂️
@@GODEYE270115 that joker statement was a one off thing for marketing. Colin intended the giga to feel that way, and gave it a scar even for that, but botched it. Tho, it's more subjective than anything by nature of the concept
The "spino=giga=rex" statement doesn't even mean that.
That tactic would be far harder to use if not blatantly fail
Spino wasn't really tossed around in jp3.
Aint no such thing as an "accurate" Spinosaurus.
With new spino discoveries i wouldn't be suprised if at some point we would learn they were ultimate life forms
I have yet another question for the maker of this video.
