I never thought anyone could do this better than Patti Lupone, but Lea Salonga is the best musical theater voice I've ever heard. Found her in Miss Saigon, when she was just a kid,and have loved her ever since.

As a musician myself - Lea Salonga has a certain way of being perfect in whatever she sings.. she's very articulate, the landscape of her singing is always perfect -and she's consistently perfect. Her live versions are even better than the recordings, it's the opposite for many singers

Lea Salonga is one of my favorite singer. She sings Don’t Cry For Me Argentina very good. I also love her in her concert in Japan with El Divo. I was fortunate to see her as Kim on the play Miss Saigon when it opens in Los Angeles California.

I paid a lot of money to sit in the front row to hear her sing in a showcase. It was worth every cent. By the way LEA discovered BTS last year and is now a huge BTS ARMY! Her bias is Taehyung (V). She voted for BTS over her countrymen from the group SB19 during the BBMAS.

I'd never heard her before, and saw her on Great Performances. And I was instantly hooked! Everything was perfect about her. The white gown, her singing, and the little trills she put in. That red lipstick! Like it was put on with a paint roller, and I loved it! But most of all was her emoting. Chewing up the lyrics and looking like a tiger about to pounce, with claws spread wide!

Her story was that she was discriminated back before just because she's a Filo, they were afraid her diction will not be clear and that her vocal technique might not be on par but she proved them wrong.

Lea Salonga orginated the role of Kim in Miss Saigon. She is also the singing voice of Princess Jasmine and Mulan. And to add to that, she is also a Olivier and Tony awardee. Lea is a rare gem of a singer. She's been honing her craft since she was a little girl. I am very fortunate to have grown up listening and watching her become the great talent that she is today. I think she's been a performer before you were even born Justin, but kudos to you for introducing Lea to a whole new (younger) audience. More power!

Wow Coach Justin!!! I love the story how you trained a mom to have power in her voice. So inspiring. And loved your reactions to this. So on point. I felt that way too. I reached audio ecstasy while listening to Lea here. When you listen to Lea Salonga, your heart hears. Not just your ears. Heart and soul feel what she sings. It's amazing. Yes here in the Philippines, we love good music and dancing. It is part of our culture. Music is part of the Filipino soul. I guess every human being's soul. But for us we take music seriously because it is a shame if a Filipino can't carry a tune. Hahaha. Because people sing during gatherings... We are videoke addicts. Lol.

I have always been partial to Patti Lupone singing this. This was my first time hearing Lea singing this and she was absolutely incredible. Also, I watch MANY reaction videos to many different songs and genre's and I liked the way he he allowed the music to flow through him and the way he gave information throughout the song. He would stop the song briefly and then get back to it. There are too many out there that stop it and just talk, evidently just to listen to themselves.
She was and still is an awesome singer. I love her voice.

Lea is amazing- im a huge fan- one of my fave broadway artists- her theatre career is incredible along with being credited as the Disney voice for Jasmine (A whole new world) and Mulan's singing voice -- original Ms. Saigon/Kim, Tony winner, Lawrence Olivier winner - loved her in les miz both as Eponine in the 10th anniversary and fantine on the 25th anniversary among so many more -- there's lots of vids of her live performances -- one of my fave is her Andrew Lloyd medley, Too Much for One Heart and I still -- its quite a rabbit hole to fall into but you will love it.

Lea Salonga played the original Kim in the musical Miss Saigon, she was only 18 then (she’s 50 years old now). In 1990 (at 19 years old), she won the Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, then the Tony Award the following year. Her voice is what you will hear in the original cast recording of both the West End and Broadway original Miss Saigon productions. You must react to the video that showed her auditioning when she was only 17, for Miss Saigon in front of Schonberg and Boublil (who also created Les Miserables). Oh, did I tell you Lea Salonga also played Eponine during the 10th anniversary concert of Les Mis, and as Fantine during the 25th anniversary concert. There are videos of her exquisite performances of those too. And then, she lent her voice to some Disney female lead characters too… 🥰🥰🥰
Was able to see Miss Salonga in sold out concert at Sydney Opera House in Nov 2019 while vacationing with my granddaughter. 5 encores. What a talent. What a show.
