Seems like a step in the right direction! I hope they can figure out the seams that are rubbing .... Not cool! Thanks for the honesty Emily! Keep pushing!
Luv,luv, luv those sock type uppers..doesn't have to be tied down type tight and just feels like a sock..as my feet swell and get hotter the stretchy fabric stays out of the way..my only criticism is that the forefoot cushioning doesn't have enough resilience and eventually bottom outs..I really don't understand the thought process of putting a ton of squishy foam in the heel and then squander the foam in the forefoot..many might land in the heel area, but we all have to push off from the forefoot ..congrats on a good race and being able to actually enjoy the race with out foot/ankle issues..
Just got a pair of these on discount at Joe's and the one thing I noticed when I first stood up was the weird pressing/rubbing/irritation where the tongue meets the heel. I like everything else about it, but I'm really worried about the possibility of ankle issues to the point of injury.
Totally forgot about your comments regarding ankle rub until I took these for a 7 mile tempo run to break these in before a marathon next weekend. Oh yeah I feel it now! Overall a very minor issue compared to the fantastic balance of fit, cushion, and energy return this shoe offers. Looking forward to the full marathon. I could do without the “sea green” color but hey it was on sale for $140 so i’ll take it.
Nice review! I also wore it for the Brooklyn Half and I picked it over other super shoes for the reasons you mentioned. It's a great shoe and I love all the color options.
I'm very surprised NB created this ankle rub problem. It's not like we can't find another carbon shoe with a normal tongue that *does not* rub. I tried this shoe despite the warnings, but it's one-run-and-done for me. Trying Saucony next. (by the way, the RC v2 was great for me and I'm considering finding another pair of those also)
had an issue with rubbing on the lateral side in that same area. Quarter socks seemed to alleviate the issue but annoying nonetheless. Have to watch which socks I wear with the SC Elite v3 and SC Trainer OG
I ran a half- marathon using New Balance SC Elite V3. My left toe was bloodied after the race. I also felt the uncomfortable rubbing on the left ankle. Interesting that we and some of the comments here have similar issues with this shoes
I really love this shoe. I originally had some of the irritation around the ankle that you mentioned, but that seemed to go away on it's own and it feels very comfortable (and propulsive) at marathon- or half-marathon pace for me. Looking forward to a training cycle with this for tempo work and pace miles leading to a fall marathon!
They definitely are attention gainers or getters...in a good way in my opinion. I'm a fan of flashy endurance athletic wear as a whole. Haven't tried this version yet but I enjoyed the others. Very good review and I also think highly of the Saucony Endorphin Pros! Happy running 🏃♀️ 😊
So interesting what you said about the rubbing on your ankle. I had that with the SC trainer. Loved the shoe, but not enough to KT tape the spot. I found the ASICS Glideride 3 to be a good alternative. Thanks for the review. I love the Endorphin Pro 3 so much that I don’t think the grass will get much greener for me in terms of super shoes, unless they start putting springs in them.
Great video!! I’ve had the pineapple ones for a few months. I don’t have any of the rubbing issues, but I agree with you on the lacing. I’ve laced them too tight a few times and my foot started to go numb! Other than that I love them. I’ve PR’d every race I’ve done in them so far.
I'm male, 5'5," and weight 135lbs. I've raced in both the sc elites and the saucony endorphin pro 3. the saucony endorphin pro 3 is more aggressive with regards to the forefoot shape, would go with this for any 7min/mile pace or faster. above 7min/mile, I midfoot/heel strike more and don't benefit as much from the aggressive speedroll configuration of the saucony pro 3 and the sc elite v3 has more heel cushioning (both feel springy and well cushion but the sc elite has the edge). For really hot weather and longer races, I would go with the endorphin pro 3 regardless because the mesh upper breathes much better than the sc elite v3 upper which translates to less hot spots.
I’d like to see a comparison between these and the vaporflys. I tried on the puma runners at the store n they were so terrible, too stiff and overly dramatic kick. Wasn’t a fan of that
Great rewiev 👋 great to hear that this shoe maybe can help me with footpain from a racing shoe. I have the problem aswell with racing shoes. Foot fatigue/sometimes pain.
ankle blisters on the SC trainer in the same spot. had to use mole skin on the shoe itself to smooth that transition section out and has been fine since.
Do i like it? I love the shoes! You should have mentioned to get the shoes Only with the pineapple color. It just a beautiful shoe. I could not agree more. This shoe will be great for the majority of Runners, from the different spectrum... I must say, I am biased. Because I have only bought the Sc lately. The traineer and the elite. There just awesome shoes.
How do you feel like these would hold up long term? I know they are not made for Durability per say, but you made mention you did so faster dailies in these. I went through two pairs of 1080's in a year. Not that I wore through the bottoms, just the foam stopped responding. Appreciate the review.
This was a great update to the RC/SC line. I think they dialed in the softness of the fuelcell with the spring of that energy arc plate just right. I also had a skin-breaking irritation, but it was on the top of the foot, right behind the toes, where the lacing system was stitched to the top of the upper. I used a bandaid instead of KT tape, and it worked just fine. 🤌
I don't know why this shoe seems so hot! I'm from the south where the humidity can be really high and the heat index can reach 110 degrees etc....Will this shoe be breathable enough to keep my feet cool and comfortable? hmmm🤔
I have Altra Vanish Carbon, the build quality is poor. The Peba midsole is nice, but its not in the super shoe territory of other shoes, the half carbon plate provides more control through the turns. The large toe box feels just too large and the zero drop takes some getting used to. If your an Altra fan you'll enjoy them, but overall I found them to be disappointing and Altra Customer service is appallingly bad.
This review is me on my own, but since I’m doing train to NYC with their crew, they sent me this pineapple colorway. I’ll also be attending events with them leading up to the NYC marathon so you will be seeing more of them on my page!
Love everything about this trainer except the lockdown. The lacing system is terrible, synching down the laces to attempt a good lockdown causes too much foot discomfort.
I really don’t understand why they don’t make them shnits in different colors. I’d prefer a black shoe mixed with another color. I’m not down to wear yellow shoes lookin all fruity
Excited for the SC Trainer v2, dropping the weight is huge and seems perfectly suited for us middle packers
Still running in the pre-cursor to these, RC Elite V2, almost at 200 miles.
Seems like a step in the right direction! I hope they can figure out the seams that are rubbing .... Not cool! Thanks for the honesty Emily! Keep pushing!

I have the RC Elite v1 (grandfather?) and I like it a lot. So I guess I have to try this one. Thanks for another great film! 👍

Nice reveiw, I totally agree, too bad I didnt bump into you during the Brooklyn Half ! I still like the V2 better but the upper dont last !

Love a review from a fellow member of the mid pack cartel ❤️😉
Great as always. Loved pup's photobomb. She is a good girl

Oh, I also have the rubbing issue. It made me bleed in my first run. My solution is to use cosmetic sponge…. cheap, durable and effective.

I was looking into getting these to replace my vaporflys. They’re nice but my feet hurt after using them 🤷🏽♂️

Running my first half coming up in the next couple months. Trying to find the right shoe. Huge help as always.
Good luck!
Great rewiev 👋 great to hear that this shoe maybe can help me with footpain from a racing shoe. I have the problem aswell with racing shoes. Foot fatigue/sometimes pain.
I dig a one-piece bootie construction(nike zoom fly fk v2, Alphafly), its looks like v4 is going away from that (from pics ive seen).
ankle blisters on the SC trainer in the same spot. had to use mole skin on the shoe itself to smooth that transition section out and has been fine since.

Banana color 🍌🍌🍌
@@i.p2088 how about pineappe/banana color
I like my SC Elite 3, but I LOVE my SC Pacer. 💕
I ran in triathlons with them. They are hard to put on and will cost you transition time.
I had the same issues with the tongue….
How do you feel like these would hold up long term? I know they are not made for Durability per say, but you made mention you did so faster dailies in these. I went through two pairs of 1080's in a year. Not that I wore through the bottoms, just the foam stopped responding. Appreciate the review.
I think these have a couple hundred miles in them…maybe 250 before I would switch them out. I can’t really say for sure but that’s my guess
I overpronated when walking with the V2, did you experience it too in the V3?
This was a great update to the RC/SC line. I think they dialed in the softness of the fuelcell with the spring of that energy arc plate just right. I also had a skin-breaking irritation, but it was on the top of the foot, right behind the toes, where the lacing system was stitched to the top of the upper. The hard stitches around the laces are giving me mayor blisters as they are really hard.
I had issues with irritation as well
Is the toe box the same width as the Comp Trainer, or narrower like the Elite v2?
don’t know for sure but I think it’s probably a little more narrow than sc trainer
You’re doing a wonderful job - keep up the great content!
Em : 🍍colorway
Me : 🍌🍌🍌 colorway!🤣
I think of 🍌 s too lol
Did the upper "hold" water during your race? I'd be wondered if these would end up being a lot heavier once soaked.
No I didn’t experience that
I don't know why this shoe seems so hot! I'm from the south where the humidity can be really high and the heat index can reach 110 degrees etc....Will this shoe be breathable enough to keep my feet cool and comfortable? hmmm🤔
Wow 110 degrees is hot!! I’m not sure how it’ll do with that
Have u reviewed Altra shoes?
Not yet!
Should I be sizing up for this??
i did not need to size up
Hi! is this better than SC Trainer V2 for a marathon.
For me, nope! I opted to wear the sc trainer v2 at the nyc marathon instead of this shoe and I have no regrets
Do you think SC Elite v3 or Endorphin Pro 3 is better for an average slow runner? For 6min/k pace, mid to forefoot striker?
i honestly think theyre both great! if you want something a little softer i'd go for the sc elite. More bounce and response, endo pro 3
in your opinion, who is the best between new balance fuelcell sc elite v3 and metaspeed edge plus?
Sc elite v3
@@RunLikeHellerfor long run?
Which is wider and which do you feel is more stable? This one or the Hoka Rocket x2
Width wise I’d say they’re about the same maybe but stability wise I think the rocket x2 might be the more stable option
That being said though, the sc elite does actually have a more accommodating upper. The rocket x2 is a bit more rigid
@@RunLikeHeller thank you. I have wide flat feet and i overpronate so finding the right race day shoe has been a challenge. Appreciate the insight!
I have the RC Elite V2 and its very different. The SC Elite V3 is MUCH BETTER.
Whats the sizing like and is it tight in the toebox like some puma shoes ?
True to size and I don’t find it tight in the toe box
I like very soft mid sole and color of this shoe ( yellow)
That shirt is 🔥🔥
Me getting my first pair for 129 and my 2nd pair for 99 plus no tax
Wait, this is a @believeintherun Collab?
