    I know these don't get a lot of views but they are probably some of the best rigged/setup vids for the hobie yaks on youtube. Im getting one this year hopefully and will be using your videos to set my stuff up. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with what works out well.

    Nice work Tim! To be clear, the button lights are SELF-TAPPING, so there is no need to use a tap. Just drill the hole using the supplied 9mm drill bit and then use a 5/8" socket to screw them into the hull. The housing will tap itself into place. Also, we make a Power Adapter Kit that maintains the correct RED/BLACK wire polarity for all of the required connections when using a battery above deck to reverse power to the system through a Power Port. Your install turned out really clean. Thank you for choosing Yak Power!

      I only read instructions if it's made by IKEA... actually this is one those times I should have read the instructions first on the LED Button lights. I thought I came up with a great idea...until I actually read the instructions, which was after I finished everything and posted the video.

    Thanks for your time and know how great video lots of info. Does Yack Power have a jack for BerleyPro Orb mounted on stern?

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  5 років тому

      They do't have a specific jack for the BerleyPro ORB, I used their Power Port and installed that into the hull and added a Power Plug to the ORB so it would plug into the Power Port.

    Tim what is the box next to the relay box tie wrapped to the second scupper tube you call it a Back bone ? Also if using back access hatch for Batteries what extension wire to buy to connect ?

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  5 років тому

      The backbone is part of the NMEA2000 kit, which is needed for the Point1. It's like a power/network distribution hub. It gives power to the Point1 and takes the signal/data from the Point1 and connects it to the Lowrance unit. Yes, I have the dual FPV-Power 17.5ah batteries in the rear hatch now. I use the FPV-Power pigtail and added longer wires to come up to the front. I will doing a video on the new FPV-Power Distribution Hub soon and I will be showing the wiring setup outside the kayak....I haven't received my new PA yet, so I'm not able to do an install video yet.

    You say that you fish at night do you use any front nav lighting or don't we need them in Michigan, I'm new to all of the rules for yaks, you have the best way for power and wiring I really like your setup. I'm glad I got the Pro Angler 14 you had much to do with that.

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  6 років тому

      keith rogers Keith a rarely fish at night, I do a lot early morning launches though. Navigation lights are not required on kayaks in my area. My understanding is navigation lights are for vessels under power. It can be an issue if an approaching vessels sees your navigation lights and assumes youh are under power and can move out of the way.

    Hi Tim! I'm your newest fan! Out of Brazil! and find this video very instructive. Can you give me more details about the lithium battery you're using? Congratulations on your channel!

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  6 років тому

      Thank you. I use Bioenno Lithium batteries. I have a 30Ah and a 20Ah. I generally use the 30Ah on my PA with the Lowrance HDS Carbon with 3D StructureScan, because it uses a lot of power. The 20Ah is big enough to power my Lowrance Elite9 Ti's all day, probably a couple days, but I always put it on the charger at the end of the day.

    @czwest7845 4 роки тому

    Hi Tim i keep watching your videos you make it look easy. You had replied in on of your comments that your measurement from mounting boards to hole for button lights is about 1''. I see the cable (lines) behind the hull wall about same area. I have a question what is the purpose of those lines on Port & Starboard. If button light shaft behind hull is touching cables or touching the wire will it effect the workings?

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  4 роки тому

      The lines are part of the rudder controls(steering). They could wear through the line (if the hard surface of the button light is jammed against it) or the line could wear through the button light wires if they are jammed against it. I haven't had an issue yet...just reach in behind from the front hatch and check to see if they are rubbing

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing

  • @lmay07
    @lmay07 6 років тому +1

    Great setup, thanks! I actually am running most the things you have. I went to Yak Attack power box and it sits just behind the plano boxes in the middle. Question...I want to do the same things with the light and feel that wire running. What is the measurement you have from the bottom of the mounting boards?

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  6 років тому

      I went about 1" down. The button lights are actually self-tapping, so you wouldn't need to run a tap through like I did. Just be cautious when screwing the lights in, that the wires don't bind up...make sure the wires turn while you are screwing the lights in or you run the chance of twisting the wires out.

  • @troyblackwell8976

    just so that I don’t blow a fuse I just want some clarification. Your power in is connected to a flush sae connector which is then connected to your battery box. Is your battery hooked up opposite? I could be wrong here but I just want to make sure

    • @TimPercyKayakFishing
      @TimPercyKayakFishing  6 років тому +1

      The Yak-Power Power Ports are the opposite of what the power input is on the module when you plug them together. You will notice the the positive and the negative are opposite when plugged together. The plug off my battery is opposite to the Power Port. So when I plug my battery into the Power Port, the positive is going into the negative side and negative into the positive, when it gets to the module its correct as that plug is reversed... a little complicated, but just make sure your positive gets to positive input side of the module and the negative gets to the negative.
