    I installed my YakPower system 3 years ago already… I use “1” for my fish finder, “B” for my forward and aft YakPower green LED external light strips, “M” for my 10 Sunpie rock lights (turned for music I might add), “S” for my stern light, “2” is for dual 12v ports, dual USD lights and LED power display. Running a 36 lb. Rear mount salt water rated trolling motor, power control module for the trolling motor, 50 watt 1.1 aH solar panel on my milk crate box with a 54 aH Dakota LiPo battery… on a sunny day… I never run out of power and still have plenty of power for lights and trolling motor for night fishing.
    I wish I had seen your video earlier… good stuff sir! Thank you

    Good info but I’ve learned my lesson regarding big holes in my kayak. Thanks.

    Great vid mate...I am looking at the Yak Power switch set-up for my Hobie PA-14 and although I am handy with wiring after seeing this I feel much more confident about doing the install. Cheers !

      Thanks. I got to take it out and use it on the water for the first time this past weekend, works perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the look, simplicity, and functionality. Its a great product, it made wiring everything very easy.

    So are you all plugging the led button lights directly into the panel switch system? Cause when I plug mine in, they don’t come on after pressing the corresponding button on the panel switch. They’ll only come on when directly wired to the battery with the negative hooked to positive and positive to negative 🤦‍♂️

    Great video! Completely a noob here. I was looking to hook 2 nocqua 20amp batteries in parallel to get a total of 40amps. Do you think the wiring and fuse will support it? Also as of today are their better options or is this still up to date. Thank you!

      I believe they sell a fuse adapter that works to join multiple noquas together. Look into Amped Outdoors they have some lithium batteries that might be more cost effective and they have a variety of sizes.

    In my opinion You installed this switch too low

    I would have ditched one of those useless rod holder pockets and made a sacrificial plate for my switch and kept my resale value!?!?!

    I want to add lights to my PA and want to do the same thing with just the Hobie battery to start for my Hook5 fish finder and lights. If you ran everything together, how long did it last?

    Will the hatch liner go in? Was going to put a compass in the same spot.

    One question i have the very first hole you drilled out for the Yak Panel. How does that screw in to the kayak? I seen the three screw holes but they looked like they were on the edge of the main big hole you cut out... How does that work?

    • @BlueSummitOutdoors
      @BlueSummitOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      The screws have a little tab on the backside of each one and it spins outward and grabs on the other side of the plastic. Hopefully that helps it’s hard to explain. BUT Yak-Power has a new 5 channel switch that is NO DRILL I would highly recommend that over this older model because of the size hole you have to drill. Let me know if you have anymore questions 👍

    Does the plug ever get wet? I ask because you mounted it so low to the deck. Do you wish it was a little higher?

    • @BlueSummitOutdoors
      @BlueSummitOutdoors  6 років тому

      I haven't had it get wet yet, but if I were to choose a different location I would put it in the center hatch bucket like a lot of others are doing. But Im pretty happy with where its located.

    you could have charged your battery for your drill .lolol

    • @bettywhiti2025
      @bettywhiti2025 6 років тому

      just saying your battery for your drill was about dead ..so if it was at full charge it would have went smoother ,.but it still worked out .
