It so interesting that mustang lost his sight cause way back before lust dies she mentions mustang's eyes and that one day they will lose their light.
Holy crap, I never made that connection. She straight up called it. She's the embodiment of lust. Of course she could read what a man thinks, and how it would play out. (Edit: She also called Ed the Fullmetal brat back in Liore I think. He hadn't hit puberty yet. Immune to her charm. Unlike Havoc. Who was definitely at easily dragged in by the ladies age)
@@WaywardVet she had no way of knowing he would lose his sight, you have no idea what truth would take from someone. But it was nice foreshadowing
Scar facing Bradley is such perfect writing. Scar is a man who, because of the Ishvalan genocide, became consumed by his own wrath and only turned from that destructive path when shown undeserved mercy from a woman who would have been justified in giving into her own wrath and letting him die. And now... he's fighting to defeat the man responsible for the genocide, who also happens to literally be Wrath incarnate.
scar is one of my favorites because of who has has become and how he’s grown. so satisfying seeing him fight wrath

May really did look at the most powerful, at this point very inhuman looking creature in the series and said she'll 1v1 him. I mean it didn't go too well but damn, she tried!
One thing that's not noticed often is the truth does technically take pity on mustang, you see a price must be paid, no matter what you do it's the truth even if the taboos not willingly done, unless you pay with a philosopher's stone, but in mustangs case the truth could have taken his eyes but he only took his vision which was much more merciful due to the fact that he didn't willingly do it
Truth is just being ironical..izumi wanted her infant, truth took her reproductive organ..mustangs has a vision to be a leader, truth took his eyesight..ed wanted alphonse (his right hand man) truth took his arm.. that's the value of equivalent exchange

@@faieziabubakar207 As the other comment said, Truth could have easily threatened Mustangs life by completely taking away his eyes, that's what he did to everyone else, Ed could have bled to death when he lost his leg, Al was virtually death without a body and Izumi lives with internal bleedings threatening her life, for Mustang instead it took what he valued the most, but without putting his life at risk.
Also, Truth didn't take Eds arm for human transmutation, that was in exchange for Al's soul, for the human transmutation it took his leg, cause Ed wanted to support his family and therefore, took away his ability to support himself.
Truth has sadistic sense of irony with his punishments/"equal exchanges".
One thing to wonder; did Ed lose his right arm, to bring Al back, because Al was seen as "right hand man"?
It's actually just sadistic with Mustang. Akin to blaming and punishing someone who was raped

@@Jam77229 Not exactly, if you think about it, everyone else lost something that it was life threatening, Ed could have bled to death, Al was virtually death if it wasn't for Ed bringing his soul back and Izumi lives with internal bleeding. Having all of that in mind, Truth was almost benevolent with Mustang who ""only"" lost his sight, not even his eyes, the thing is even if it was forced, Mustang did perform human transmutation and gained access to the knowledge of Truth, including the ability to perform alchemy without transmutation circles, he gained access to a lot of power, even if unwillingly, and due to equivalent exchange for that power he had to pay a price.
At the same time, Truth takes away what you value the most in exchange for that knowledge and power, for Ed who wanted to support and sustain his family, it was his ability to support himself, for Al it was the ability to feel the warmth of his mother, for Izumi who wanted a child it was her ability to bring a child to the world, and for Mustang his ability to see the future.
In the end, Truth is just cold, objective and emotionless fairness.
@@Iqnacio. the real price of taboo was paid by Pride, that is why his container started to fall apart. Mustang was able to manage the trauma quite well right away, he didn't fall into despair and self-loathing as the other three. But Truth couldn't let to happen the whole thing without consequence, as that would be a loophole from equivalent exchange.
They're lucky Bradley is past his prime because if he wasn't... Well let's not think about that 😂

Can I just say I love that you're using lofi verions of the intros as background music.
I love how this show just subverts expectations constantly and episode 60 is a masterclass in blowing people's minds.
Something I noticed about The Truth, as it is essentially everyone and thus is also the being confronting it, it acts in kind. Edward was arrogant toward it so it was arrogant towards him. He wanted to stand on his own two legs, it wanted a leg. Al wanted to feel his mother’s warmth, it wanted his body to feel warmth. It’s all rather poetic.
Truth is basically a mirror. I love it when something turns out to be a mirror, one of my favourite tropes)

my favorite moment in this show is scar facing wrath...its so beautiful in how it culminated to this moment for both characters. scar is quite facing his own wrath and now personified. and wrath himself experiencing his own enlightenment by being able to fight to the death, twisted as it may be, was very beautiful to hear his little mid-fight speech.
Father is certainly not the Truth. He never sacrificed anything himself to the truth. You'll see how blank it is inside his portal.
This anime is the best anime of all time for me. From the plot to the characters to the realistic themes portrayed in the show.

Well, we finally got to see what the circle was really for. To open the planet’s gateway to bind god. The obvious question: what now?
Truth is all, one, and you, so in a sense Father is as much Truth as Ed or anyone else is. That’s why when people go to their gateways the Truth is like a reflection of them without all of the details.
you know out of all the amazing things in this anime, there is one tiny thing i was disappointed in is that roy and riza didnt kiss in that scene lmao
There is a line I love from the dub from Bradley. When Scar tells him he has no name, Bradley says "It's almost poetic: two nameless men fighting to the death".
Also, speaking of Scar's character development, the moment that he used *alchemy* (not alkahestry)... amazing, iconic, showstopping
