This game exists on PS2 and 3DS and is VERY high for alot of people.
The main theme is: The meaning of birth.
For many people this is one of the best stories, casts and whatnot. The cast has amazing development, the protagonist especially.
This is one of the big ones alongside titles like Symphonia.
For a second I thought you said cats and what not and I wont lie, I got excited
Luke had one of the best character growth ingame from a spoiler ignorant brat to a semi selfless Hero as you complete the game ⭐
He also been voiced by veteran VA Yuri lowenthal who also lend hid pipes to Dainslief of genshin impact and Peter Parker/Spidey in Spiderman ps4 game
Abyss is one of my best Tales. It was darker than any other previous titles(my opinion though) and having heavy themes.
Themes of this one are "meaning of birth" and "karma(it becme song title)". Most protagonists have sinful past or sinful birth, and they have to face it without running away.

Last duel of two red haired guys is one of saddest and my favorite scenes even in all JRPG.

Best in term of story drama and music. But dungeons not complicated like Phantasia, Destiny, DC.
Almost all Tales of series are a standalone games with some crossover here and there. Pretty much you can play any game you want first without problem

The opening doesn't show a lot, but all of the playable characters are cracked when you get to end game. I fucking love this game XD

I actually didn't know Tales was a whole game series but the first time I knew about Tales of the Abyss was because of the anime. I don't remember much about it because it's been a long time ago but I do remember how much I especially liked the protagonist and his partner with the overall story. It's a good development with sad themes that the opening song captures well.
Oh for sure, the music is top tier
I still firmly believe this one got the best anime adaptation. What's great is that the anime actually uses the same song here for it's op theme!
The ones I know for sure have an adaptation of some kind are Vespiria (movie), Zestiria (two tv seasons and a short ova), Symphonia (3 relatively long OVA's), Berseria (got a few eps dedicated to itself in the Zestiria adaptation as a kind of advertisement since I think the game was coming out soon at the time), Eternia (12 ep tv show and also the worst one here in my opinion), Phantasia (short OVA), and Abyss (26 ep tv show). Abyss was definitely my favorite but Zestiria is what got me started with this series.
This one is in my top for sure, at least for OP's!
This game was PS2 I believe and got a port to the 3DS

Really loves its lyrics. It's successfully describing story and themes of TOA.
This theme was my childhood on ps2 such a huge throwback for me. Made me shed some tears.
Omg my 2nd Japanese RPG on the ps2! It was a journey! I loved this so much. Every character had great backstory! I felt so much feelings playing this. You can jump in any of the tales games. Each game is independent.
My favorite Tales game. Abyss was a trip! Man, this is making me wanting to replay the game
On to Tales of Innocence and it has 2 openings one is the original and the other is the opening to the remaster of the game! Loved this reaction, love this game and it has a full length anime that covers the whole game! You don't have to play them in order as they are standalone except for some with sequels which is easy to look up!

In the original ps2 release, they cut off the music in the English version.
The VA 4 da main character then is Yuri lowenthal. He voiced peter parker/Spidey in spiderman ps4, several persona characters, and of course Dainslief in Genshin Impact 😉

Far and a way still my favorite Tales game. It's definitely worth a playthrough--it's some of the best character development in a any game, hands down.

This was the first game I ever finished❤❤❤ it’s so incredibly good. never heard this opening with lyrics, and in my opinion, he should not have sang it solo or without autotune. I don’t know it just doesn’t mesh well with the music-- his voice, I mean. The music is grungy, and I don’t know it just feels like it should have, a guy singing with the deeper registry. The English version on PS2 by the way, had no lyrics to the opening and the music was perfect without it anyway💋

tales of abyss is the 1st tales of serie that success. then later followed by vesperia, graces f, xillia, xillia 2, berseria then the newest one arise. the rest are kinda meh. ive played them all by the way so i know which one is good and meh.
