As a Lions fan I have the highest respect for Stafford and to be honest he should not have returned to the game after a hit like that. I hope he is ok.
Everyone watching saw this, but the NFL turned a blind eye to it because no one wanted a Staffordless playoff game.No one is talking about it after the game like it never happened.Because the NFL controls what these analysts can talk about. They don’t care about players or the quality of life they are left with after the NFL.He never should have been allowed to go back in and the NFL needs to be punished for this. But by who? This is the real problem!

Holy crap, my head hurt just from watching that!!😮 We all know the NFL Concussion protocol is mostly just lip service and will pretty much get bypassed in any Big Game. Just hope🤞it saves even 1 in 10 from CTE in retirement...
Yep they are told what they can say and not say. You don't need to be a doctor to see he was dazed. There is to much money with gambling, salaries in NFL.
Stafford is legit one of the toughest guys in the league. Dislocated shoulder….no problem…..broken throwing hand….no problem…..brain bouncing around in his skull….no problem. Dude will literally play through anything and get pissed if he’s not in the game.
As a lions fan. I'm so proud of our guys.. As a Career long Stafford fan. I'm so proud of that dude. He showed why the rams felt he was the final piece of a super bowl puzzle, and were willing to give us a franchise CHANGING amount of assets to aquire him. I'll always love that dude... he's pretty incredible
It's funny when KC played Tom Brady and a player was trying to hit the ball hit Brady on the shoulder and they called rouging the passer. This was worse than that. The guy took like two steps after he threw the ball and then pushed him down. That hit on Higbee was also illegal. He's done that before. The Lions should have to forfeit the game to the Rams. The refs saw both and three no flags on either one.
100% it reminded me of Tua. That being said, maybe there are things that medical professionals can do to rule out concussions. But I was surprised to see Stafford back in. If there is the nfl should make that more transparent. It looked to me like they chose an exciting game over player safety.
As a ram fan when I saw this live on my tv I was so scared I didn’t want him back in but one thing about matthew that I’ve learned is he’s gonna go in and act like he’s fine. Bad call to make him go back In I just hope he’s doing ok ,prayers for #9 🙏🏼
The league is full of crap. Any other game, he gets pulled. I'm glad Detroit won, but that was concerning. His head hit very hard, and his face and hands showed concussion symptoms. But it's a playoff game, so his health took a back seat to ratings.
I was at the game and had a perfect view of the play. When Matt got up and started toward the sideline, his first few steps were wobbly. I thought he was going back down. Knowing his toughness, I shouldn't be surprised he didn't go down but it was surprising how he kept upright. His hand was also contorted. It was shocking that he was cleared.
yea that starry eyed look was pretty scary i didn't understand why they kept him in. I understand its a playoff game but man that dude clearly needed to be off that field.
I was watching the game and I seen that hit and how he was dazed, and looking up at the ceiling. I know he has to have a concussion and they probably gave him smelling salts in that tent they have.
Good Job Lions. My Rams played far to conservative and thought 3 points instead of 7 was a good idea. 3 TIMES!? Rams fans arent Saints fans so we wont be blaming the bad calls. We should have won could have won, but in the end the lions got the W. Very glad Goff is working out for you. Keep him safe and he is a very good QB. Go get that SB win!!!
Having watched Stafford play in Detroit for as long as he was here, you won’t find a tougher player. He won’t come out of a game unless he’s forced to, and even then he’d still try to stay in.
there was 2-3 times when they should have called roughing the passer, if you call one of Goff you gotta call it on Stafford. NFL GOTTA PROTECT ALL QBS.
I watched them all. None of those hits on Stafford were late. That's why they didn't throw a flag. If a defensive lineman is in full speed motion, it's hard to stop. But no late hits. Stafford shouldn't hold the ball so long. He got what he asked for.
@@yehman71 Stafford didn't get stepped on. The defensive player was stepping and Stafford fell that way. The defensive player even pulled his foot up to NOT step on him. People need to stop making things up. You can literally watch the replay and see what I see.

Still love and respect him and it was nothing personal but he was the opposition that night. Glad he's ok.
@travismiles5885 Nice words. He is definitely tough. From a Rams fan, nice win for your Lions. Most of us still pull for Goff and have enjoyed watching his successes with your Lions. Glad the trade worked worked well for both teams. Beat those Bucs.
Refs should make sure nobody helps get the player up. This is of immense value to determine a concussion. Each second is a second they recover. Imagine if nobody helps Stanford get up and he is all woozy and can’t get up or is stumbly…that would have been a very different outcome one (and not sure if someone did but it looks like it before cutting out) (Also for head or neck injuries you don’t want players or anyone going touching him anyways as is standard procedure)
I watched the Olineman pick him up as fast as he could and i know he was out cold. The team definitely knew he shouldn't have been in there after that.
This should have a been a penalty the guy did not try to pull up I played football and there is nothing that frustrates a rusher more than being almost ready to sack the quarterback and he throws it. because he could have held him up if he was concerned about Stafford.
I saw his eyes roll back in his head as soon as his head hit the turf, he was unconscious for about 2 seconds then snapped back out of it, and whoever let him return to the game needs to be fired, sued and held liable for putting his health in jeopardy.
Absolutely should have been pulled. When it happened I seen his eyes roll back I was like damn, hes gone and genuinely concerned for his health and safety as well.
Your 100% right. I remember thinking this exact thing when I saw it and couldn't believe he came back. Stafford is too tough for him oun good and I guarantee you he "acted" like everything was just fine and probably knew what to say to stay in the game.
clearly a late hit that was not called not called as he didn't have the ball for quite some time yet the guy drove his shoulder into his head area-pathetic how fixed the NFL is.

He was also rocked in the head a little bit by McNeil before going to the turf and banging his head there. But I didn't see his eyes rolling back. I saw him looking up. Similar to someone out of shape with a weak core struggling to get up from laying on their back but get stuck on the way up. That's what I observed. And his accuracy after the hit indicated to me that he was mentally fine… (relatively speaking. Every hit takes a bit of a toll on the brain and body).
Stafford is my guy and I'll always pull for him except when he plays my Lions. I pray I'm right and he's fine. You don't watch much football do you? If Hutchinson would have fallen on top of Stafford, I could see roughing the passer, but it was obvious that Hutch physically made the effort not to do that.McNeil was off balance and falling when he hit Stafford. None of it was intentional. But, there are always 2 sides in any game and the losers will always say they were robbed. I understand. Bottom line, YOU LOST! 1
This is what I'm sayin. Idk what they gave him in that tent but there's no way he shoulda been able to come back the way he did. He was fucked up. The rest of the game he played like nothing happened.
Why wasn't there an intentional roughing called when Matthew Stafford was hit twice and had his throwing shoulder stepped on, while he was laying on the ground in pain, after he had already thrown the ball. A lion fan called it the bang, bang play.
Because it is a bang bang play. If we went by you just cant make contact after the ball is thrown with no room for momentum, then you give QBs essentially a get out jail free card at anytime during a play, they can throw it half a second before a tackle comes in and draw a penalty. You want to see offenses try to draw fouls all game go watch the NBA
100% should have been pulled. His neurological future should supercede any return to the game. Someone blew this big-time. This is where the big lawsuits come from but maybe when you are the NFL with deep deep pockets, you do not care.
The amount of crying from Rams fans after this game is up there with Cowboys fans. None of you would last 2 weeks being a Lions fan with what we've dealt with.
It's only "scary" because it's Mathew Jack shit Stafford! Just like any game where he feels pressure he will find a way to get out of the game by "getting hurt".
YES, JUST FOR HIS WELL BEING AND FOR HIS FAMILYS.Anyone who watched the game whoud agree what I saw was clearly a flag because look to me like he was targeted if you watch closely two hits one after he was already hurt it was to the head.Prayers go out to him and his.
And how was this not a roughing the passer call? What about the hit below the knees on the wide receiver? I get that the Rams did not help themselves by not scoring TD's instead of FG's, but this play, the hit on the WR, and the no call PI on that last drive that would have given the Rams a first and goal. Those kinds of things affected this game's outcome...
The NFL is FIXED!,how they can dictate the game on noncalls when clearly they knocked him down and stepped on him. The Rams had a bunch of non calls, that' didn't go there way the Refs are being payed off...

If we went by you just cant make contact after the ball is thrown with no room for momentum, then you give QBs essentially a get out jail free card at anytime during a play, they can throw it half a second before a tackle comes in and draw a penalty. You want to see offenses try to draw fouls all game go watch the NBA
RIP...at least he has a whole offseason to recover..
Ya, he was definitely gone for a minute.
This person on tik tok tried to argue that Stafford's eyes didn't roll back! THEY DEFINITELY DID!
But the NFL wouldn’t let him continue if he was okay 👍🏿?
🙄
100% should have been pulled. His neurological future should supercede any return to the game. Someone blew this big-time. This is where the big lawsuits come from but maybe when you are the NFL with deep deep pockets, you do not care.
Seasons over for LA…no concussion protocol this week
I might have missed it but at what point was this in the game.
14 to 3 lions, the NFL did not want viewers shutting off the game.
The amount of crying from Rams fans after this game is up there with Cowboys fans. None of you would last 2 weeks being a Lions fan with what we've dealt with.
Well he returned to the game so apparently he was ok
Yes how can he be evaluated in a minute and allowed to come back in the game. Looks like some fines coming there way
when it comes to trying to cheat the Lions all bets are off. I'm surprised they didnt give them an extra timeout.
Dude is a beast man.

Should of been pulled. No questions
I believe they should have pulled the refs and put in a crew with 20/20 vision or weren't corrupt. The Rams would have been winners.
Or you could even say that if the refs called that NZI correctly the Lions would have had an even bigger lead.
It's only "scary" because it's Mathew Jack shit Stafford! Just like any game where he feels pressure he will find a way to get out of the game by "getting hurt".
Stafford still tough as nails
Should of been pulled I'm Lions fan and it fell like he was taking his lickings hits for leaving Detroit didn't want to walk off like that.
He should have not returned to game 👎🏼that’s disgusting how they don’t care about them
Tough guy- but he shouldn’t have played- even though he did well
He was in a daze from a head injury. His head hit that ground hard. He should have been pulled
YES, JUST FOR HIS WELL BEING AND FOR HIS FAMILYS.Anyone who watched the game whoud agree what I saw was clearly a flag because look to me like he was targeted if you watch closely two hits one after he was already
hurt it was to the head.Prayers go out to him and his.
Roughing the passer…really?
Also I’m sorry your qb put you wide receiver in a poor position. Where do u want him to hit him….
Oh shut up
Forearm extension towards the head is and should be automatic but ok. Harrington also came after 3 steps which again is roughing but ok.
Receivers are not protected against low hits. Only high hits.
So you’re saying you can’t hit high and can’t hit low?
Funny how the media and fans will continue to paint Detroit in a good light then ignore the missed calls and numerous dirty hits.
take the L and move on
Just as many missed calls by the Refs on LA. . A lot of whining when the LIONS win
@@edbarnard7157 What would you people do if your team actually did get cheated? These clowns wouldn't last 4 weeks being a Lions fan.
Forearm to the Head It's called roughing the passer after the ball has been thrown how in the hell do you miss that
Same way they missed and threw the flag on us when the Rams jumped which would have been our first down but instead we had to punt.
Even the little kids watching game asked wtf is wrong with his eyes? Is he ok?
Wow you are COMPLETELY wrong. That's not a fencing posture. You've never had a bad shoulder injury.
Luckily his seasons over. He’ll get to recover
The NFL is FIXED!,how they can dictate the game on noncalls when clearly they knocked him down and stepped on him. The Rams had a bunch of non calls, that' didn't go there way the Refs are being payed off...
Dude so did the Lions just quit it.
That is my Qb!
