- We're back at ALDI one last time to go shopping for budget healthy ingredients to make spaghetti and meatballs. I want to focus on budget options after you all have been requesting that, and this ALDI grocery haul features some really top quality items at fantastic prices. The meatballs are made with 100%grass-fed ground beef and are keto approved since I use almond flour as the filler. I can say that it feels like less. Since they have to make a line and less doors to get out of. Plus since the stores are micro managing how many people can be in the store we can be more watchful.

Simply Organic Marinara sauce is $1.88 at the Aldi’s I go to in Connecticut.
I buy 5 at a time.
I also add a little extra virgin olive oil to it while it’s simmering.
I scoop up that marinara sauce all day. Can’t beat the price, taste and organic. I save the jars after and reuse them in my pantry.

Costco has red lentil spighetti noodles. I love the red lentil pasta from Aldi. Been great for my kids during this lock down.
Bobby any thoughts on reusing cooking oil? Do you use it a few times then discard? Or one time use? Was wondering if its unhealthy to reuse for example when deep frying. Btw I made Desi's date brownies and my kids and I enjoyed it.

Love the Audi sauce & chickpea pasta. Until I found these I had to give up pasta as the wheat/regular pasta didn’t agree with me. Now I can have it semi-regular.

I use an ice cream or cookie scoop to make my meatballs - so much easier. No need to make them perfectly round. Also, bake my meatballs in the oven on 400 - with foil on pan, less clean up

Needs fresh chopped garlic and fresh flat parsley in these meatballs. I will try the almond flour instead of the bread crumb. Loving your videos and recipes💗

Honestly, I love this channel. I am not into the keto or paleo diets, however; Bobby and this channel have taught me so much about non-GMOs, organic foods, etc. to have healthier food choices. He breaks down the essentials well to have his viewers understand the fundamentals. My favorite videos involve his analyses of products at the stores and the recipe videos. I have learned to choose better options in the grocery stores and am excited to be in the kitchen after each haul. Very happy I found these videos!
Bought your book just last week. It now comes spiral bound so easy for cooking with it. I need to lose weight so can I either use Avocado spray or bake meatballs in oven?

I add avacado oil and salt to it when its boiling.
i love these recipes but I have a nut allergy. you tend to use almond flour for everything. for me it's a challenge at times. It would be super awesome if can do a nut free dinner and dessert.
Coconut Flour is a good alternative.

However, I happened to notice that the soybean spaghetti pasta you picked is made in China. No matter how clean or great the ingredients are, I can't bring myself to purchase this product.

Hey bobby, greetings from your northern neighbors :D Here in Toronto we don't have grass-fed beef in any of the physical stores. I checked silk's website and they don't have organic almond milk here too, not just Toronto but their Canadian website just doesn't have the product at all. It's such a bummer. I'd love to eat healthily and I do have the money to spare, but it's so hard to get good quality stuff these days. Would you mind looking into some Canadian sources? FYI, thrive market doesn't deliver to Canada as well, I checked :(
That beef has an expiration date of 3 weeks out. Is that typical of ground beef? Seems like a long time, which is great, but want to learn more about why it’s that long. Fresher meat? Packaging? Preservative?
I think it depends on when your store gets the meat from the supplier. I've seen as short as four days but as long as 2 and a half weeks. The ground bison I get from my Costco sometimes has an expiration date of three weeks.

The color of an egg depends on its breed not how it was raised.
The Rhizomatic Movement Did you just assume that I thought the egg wasn’t pasture raised solely based on the color of the egg shell? Lol. Several factors can determine whether an egg is pasture raised or not. Let me educate you. That egg that bobby cracked was extremely yellow. Pasture raised eggs yolks tend to be an bright orange color. You’d know that if you watched his egg comparison video or if you have experience buying several dozens of pasture raised eggs, So nice try. Secondly, 90% of organic pasture raised eggs have brown egg shells and especially the ones that bobby specifically prefers (Vital Farms Brand) are always brown. Anything else?
Yolks from pastured chicken eggs will be more yellow in winter, in cold snowy climates. Like Chicago. Hens have a hard time foraging in snow.

Regarding healthy pasta alternatives at Aldi, don't bother with the whole wheat spaghetti. Some may describe the taste as "earthy", but I just think it more or less tastes like dirt. Will check out some of the non-wheat flour-based pastas in the future.
Can this be also done with Turkey or chicken as well?
I think all cooking can usually be done with substitutions. That's what I plan to do since I don't have edamame pasta.
