  • In this video, we introduce project managers and other glazing industry professionals to the process of doing a glass and materials take-off.
A take-off is when the PM breaks down all of the necessary materials for a project. These calculations are done to order the stock lengths, glass, gaskets, and screws from a manufacturer.
In this Part 1 video, Alex will show you the basic storefront components, and where they are located. Then, he will highlight them on an elevation and show you how to count them.
Part 2 is available on our website here and will show you how to calculate the stock lengths of these components. Sign up free and take our courses - learn.learngla...

The pocket filler should have been explained along with the intermediate verticals.

Hello Kjtimpani, Thank you for your comment. We would love to make this video a bit better. Could you clarify a bit? the video goes over the pocket filler at the 2:15 mark and had highlighted the OBM's as the intermediates also. Do you think that having added a top view of the components would help?

@@LearnGlazing I am a seasoned corporate professional with a burning desire to be a Project Management Professional. Most of my work is software improvements or migrating legacy system files and applications to company supported IT platforms and SaaS. I applied for a Project Manager position specializing in Glazing. I will review the other videos. Thanks for your reply.
