when effects and missing timing is the worst ruling in any card game i've ever seen tbh. You'll easily notice most decks they don't intend to be meta will typically have when effects. Not to mention I really don't buy the justification for WHY card effects miss timing. Like linguistically when and if are relatively the same and i've never played a card game where effects can actually miss timing before. To my knowledge mtg cards cant miss timing, digimon cards can't miss timing, and pokemon cards can't miss timing. It's a redundant rule that feels like it was made by some head judge at one of the first events then just accepted from then on. I really hope one of these future rule changes just gets rid of it because it really doesn't make any sense how an effect can miss timing.

In gameplay design perspective, it's better if a card game has a lot more variety in mechanics, so it would be easier to design and balance new cards. Imagine if there is no "when" mechanic in ygo. Konami can't make trigger effect miss timing. So everytime a new archetype comes out that has a lot of trigger effects, they really need to be careful to not make it too broken because there will be no way to play around them to make the effect miss timing. Think about it instead of just complaining why certain mechanics exist. Its better for the game the more mechanics the game has.

Dzeeff opening Battlin' Boxers out of his own free volition then BB betraying him through "when" and archetype-lock has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a while.
tbh, drytron would've been fun to watch and see how well it would work in a sealed format. The only thing people hate about it is herald, everything else is pretty cool. (Literally ritual summoning by not ritual summoning)
I feel like it is too high rarity and as Dzeef said....if you don't pull Meteonis you don't have a deck. Also, it is paired with garbage Ursarctics iirc. If someone pulls Zeus and can craft a Fafnir (they lost the previous week) maybe it would be worthwhile, but that deck is kind of cheeks without cards like that.
all the 'trons other than alpha are normal or rare personally i kind of hate that every single one is infinite recursion and stays in grave forever instead of banishing themselves...
I think I'll start keeping track of the decks you guys play, along with who wins each match, for the season. This is just because I think it'll be neat. *Current list of decks used for Season 2 (Dzeeff on left, Farfa on right, trophy indicates who won):* Episode 1: Battlin' Boxer VS. Phantom Knights 🏆 From the first episode alone I think Farfa has a HUGE advantage and it will be a steep hill for Doug to climb. Not only did Farfa pull Pankratops this time around, but going into the Phantom Knights pack also allowed him to pull Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, a staple Rank 4 that will likely rule over this format (I'm also predicting that these will be the first cards Doug bans after they keep getting in his way). Meanwhile Doug pulled... Pot of Desires. Not bad, but it doesn't work in every deck so I'm unsure if it will be too powerful in this sealed format. Edit: Oh yeah, Farfa also pulled Scrap Iron Scarecrow, the king of the playground even if both players have 3 copies of MST already. Expect a winning streak for a few episodes at least.
You both are doing great things. Honestly making logical changes to the series that impact the power of cards that make a lot of similar series stale. Thanks for the great content. Honestly the last few years have been a renaissance for Yu-Gi-Oh content and I’m proud to have watched it happen.
I think I already see a couple of cards, Doug might want to ban when we get to that point: Fog Blade, Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon and Rusty Bardiche. I also think Doug may want to cut the Dangers from his deck, depending on how many he was playing, they've caused him nothing but grief. Plus, can we all agree that missing timing is stupid and should be removed from Yu-Gi-Oh.
Fun fact: Missing the timing was devised as a balancing mechanic. It notably kept every single yang zing main deck non-zefra monster from being playable outside of metalfoes
"Switch accounts for the next episode" would be a cool random event. Of course you wouldnt be allowed to dismantle cards, but it would be interesting to see choices like: "am i really going for the good secret pack with his account so i may win, but he may have good cards in the long term then"
I sincerely hope you guys can keep this series going forever. This is the best master duel content possible and it doesnt seem super cheap to produce so thank you guys

So happy to see the new season, what a great content. Me and my friend started doing something similar and we've had so much fun especially when i went for mekk-knight adamancipator abomination and summoned tons of level 8 synchros. This series has been such a great coping mechanism, don't stop
One thing about this show that outpaces other "Yugitubers play sealed BO3" shows is the flexibility of the format. The changes for this season are the most substantial changes I've seen in any Yugituber series that still keeps the core idea of the show intact, plus Doug and Farfa have not shown any hesitancy to change rules quickly if they seem to be making the show less fun. Super excited for this season!

Doug can do the 2000 iq play that is to use his craft on an Ash Blossom, go for the Ash Blossom package (which guarantees another copy of it), and, given how the Ash from the package was not a craft, he could use the extra craft from the end of this episode to get a full set on ep 2
As questionable as Battlin' Boxers were as a choice, it did pair with Farfa playing Ragnazero to create a subplot throughout this episode where you both gradually learn how Ragnazero works & how to play around it, as well as that it can make Nova Kaiser miss timing. You can see them both making choices around it in games 2 & 3 that were informed by things that came up in games 1 & 2. Next week's going to be very unfortunate if someone doesn't pull any URs though.
Honestly, playing battle boxers. I have some tips. But if you want to play this deck in the future. Invest in igknights. The pendulums help as a searching option. And can easily special the monsters
As someone who played battlin boxer in master duel, it requires alot of support from rank up and generic rank 4s to survive. Xyz import, rank up magic the 7ths one, silent honor arc and dark.
I felt empty without Master Saga last week. Glad its back. I have never seen that "Missed the activation timing!" message box before. I didn't think Master Duel would actually explicitly tell you. I figured that it would just continue the game without saying anything. Props to Konami.
Is there a "Painful Choice" effect in the Deck of many things? I dunno it just sounded fun, like both players pick any 5 cards in the game, and the opponent chooses one they can craft for that week. 🤷♂️ just was a random thought, could be fun.
I think doug missed out on the drytron pack. A couple drytrons basically enable any ritual packs he goes into. And that's without meteonis, with it it's insane
Just got into PK (no rhongo, too boring) and I like this archetype a lot, can play through 2 or 3 handtraps on turn one and I still get the board I need. Highly recommended. Also, a lot of stuff can't play through one fog blade, is just a rare and I'm sure it can be useful even in non PK decks.

for ever 5 duels you should have a general duel with a random 10 master pack and use 10 secret packs but youre allowed to use your collection
