The Origins Castle Greyskull is so damn fantastic; my mom was going to get me one for Christmas but she thought it was going to cost several hundred dollars and we just couldn't afford it; she didn't realize it was only about 75 bucks, so when I told her the real price on Christmas day she ordered one for me as a late present. Just like when I was a kid. Who says being 46 is too old to get Castle Greyskull as a Christmas present? 😁

I'm 48 and everytime I get stuff in the mail it's like Christmas again. You got to think positive and be happy. If action figures help do that now. That's what you do✌️
Another excellent review! I appreciate your breadth of MotU knowledge that you incorporate into the reviews. The Roton is a fan favorite and I'm so happy that Mattel seems to intend to fully bring the vintage toys into Origins. I'm eager to see the Snake Mountain and Eternia playsets come into existence someday.

Hello my friends! I love what the origins is doing with it's take on the vintage MOTU line. Believe it or not! The origins new Roton and the classics was inspired by a combination of the vintage and the 80s Monagram Roton Model kit. So thats were the idea of the hood and face plate came from. But never less. That custom Attack Track is sick! Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen such a perfect paint job. I didn't have the Roton as a kid and wasn't thinking about getting one but now after seeing it in hand, think I'm going to have to add it to my collection!
I appreciate you watching the video and your comments! Yeah the Monogram Model kits were really cool in the day and can be found on ebay still. I think the biggest thing with them is to make it like a model kit as far as paint details, like priming, paint and Semi gloss coat then stickers like I did. It looks much better that way. From what I remember, it really looks alot like what the origins did now or at least that model kit inspired the alternative design with the hood and faceplate in the origins Roton. Great review and thanks for the comparison. I have that Classics Roton and love it. Seeing this next to your Attak Trak makes me sad we never got an Attak Trak in the Classic line. Oh well. Classics did give us some amazing vehicles and figures though.

The classics Roton is s monster and I thought it would be interesting to see it next to the smaller Origins one or at least look at the the inspiration for the classics. I really wish the classics magical Attack Track, Slime pit, land Shark and Mantasor to name a few.! They were all planned in the classics to from a list a seen. But of coarse the line ended and as you said we got some amazing stuff! I bought the Attack Trak kit a few years ago them put together and painted it because of the lack of one in the classics. A new origins Screech would be great! There are a few version of the yellow evil lyn floating around Ebay with new knees. I got one in card. But they are now going for alot of money. So I would hope an origins Screech would come with a new evil lyn. There is a Zoar and Teela two pack coming out this summer. I got one preorderd at Big bad Toy store. The new Teela also comes with new knees too👍

Thanks for trying the different figs from Classics and Masterverse. That’s what I was waiting to see! I mainly collect Masterverse and other ~6” figs, so I’m using Origins “vehicles” like a Sky Sled, Stridor, and Panthor. Those all scale well. Waiting on the Wind Raider to go on clearance to try it out. Wondering if you tried bending the knees more. I know the loin cloths get in the way though.
Thanks for watching and sharing your interest in the video! Yeah I tried bending the knees a little more and messing around getting Revelation skeletor in better. I did also try He-man. He did fit a little better. In the end they work. But still sit off the seat and look big, you also can't use the cover unless you wanted to make some kind of pole inserts to adapt to the pegs and paint them black or red. You use round plastic happy stock to try that. The Roton does look small with Revelation or classics figures in it. But it does work and who says it can't be smaller like the sky sled or a smaller version Roton in skeletors Stock of equipment. Again I'm comparing it to the classics. It would have been cool if it was a little bigger. But they did make the inside bigger. The the vintage one can't fit the origins figures from what I have told. So because of the bigger inside the other figures can fit now! Hope that helps and thanks again for the comments👍
The Origins Wind Raider is pretty huge and fits Revelation figures absolutely fine. Which is odd considering it's one of the few vehicles NOT seen in Revelation. :P Also I think someone at Mattel intended the WR to be used with RV because the early stock photo (that said 'do not distribute' on it) that was on the Amazon listing back in last July showed Revelation Savage He-Man piloting it, which is all kinds of strange. Shame the Roton wasn't made with Masterverse in mind. I was really hoping it would be a lot bigger.
@@carn9507 The origins Wind Raider fits The revalation and classics really well. I remember reviewing that and trying The origins, Revalations and Classics figures in it. I don't remember seeing any promotion images aside what was on the box. But it did come out really cool. I was impressed that all the origins new vehicles and cats were larger then the vintage ones. I'm not sure why they didn't bump the origins Roton up much larger. I'm guessing cost at this point.

I just got this a week ago. I went into Wal mart and they had two sitting there. One was a bit damaged so, I grabbed the other one. The box is so big, I couldn't get it into a shopping bag, so I had to carry it under my arm on the walk back home. Kind of a pain, but it was worth it. lol Fingers crossed for Point Dread!
Yeah Big Box for this Roton. These are also showing up all over now. It's another fun Origins Veichle to have. I'm guessing we might see a point Dread and Talon Fighter next year for Origins.👌

@@Themanchlid I just started looking it up and see it for prices listed at $30 and up, so I need to keep looking. I have been systematically trying to collect all of the Origins line. As of now I have 23 figures, plus Battlecat and Panthor, Stridor, the Wind Raider, the Skysled, and Castle Greyskull. I have been eagerly awaiting a release of Roton, and seeing that it is now out just makes my day, as does the continued expansion of the membership of the Evil Horde, which has always been my favorite sub-group in the MotU line; I have Leech and Mantenna ordered, I have a single Horde Trooper (but I need to get a few more to form a squad,) Mosquitor, and the base Hordak (my _favorite_ character in the entire Masters line.) I'll be ordering Hurricane Hordak soon. I have to go slowly, though, since I'm disabled and live on a fixed income, but I'm doing my best to get all of them. As a child of the '80s who had lots and lots of He-Man guys along with my little brother (usually purchased by my mother in bargain bins a few years after they were initially released, so although we'd get them a while later than all the other kids, mom made sure we had a lot of them!) the Origins line is utterly fantastic; I absolutely adore this "retro style, modern play" design philosophy behind the Master of the Universe: Origins line. They look and feel just like the toys I originally had as a kid, only _better,_ and with such great sculpting and articulation. I am just thrilled by the whole line; I hope they are selling well and contemporary kids are enjoying them enough to keep the line going, and keep the Masters of the Universe alive in the minds of today's kids. I've even been buying my niece and nephew some figures. I got them a She-Ra and He-Man figure, respectively, and they keep them sealed up on their walls, since they're a bit too old to play with them, but they seem to love them. I just hope they release Swift Wind to go with She-Ra, so I can get him and Battlecat to complement their figures. [Edit to add: I am now subscribed to your channel, man.]
Wow! That's quite a story about your collection goals. We are all in a simular boat with trying to collect and come up with money for these lines. Especially Masters of the universe. I too retired my job on disability years ago. I get a limited pension and also on a limited income. My wife helps out with many things too. So im fortunate in that sence. I have servere Systemic Lupus and mixed connective tissue disease. I live in constant pain. It takes alot of time and energy to make videos. I really have to plan and edit them. Medications make me weird too! Lol. But making toy videos gives me purpose in life and it allows me to be productive in my own time at my own pace with a hobby I had for over 25 years now! Yeah just get what you can get within your budget. Wait until you find the Roton on Dale or clearance. Sooner or later these things do. Masters of the univese is one of those lines you have to get them all. The vintage really planted a seed in us to love this toy line. Who knew it would come full circle 40 years later. @@Themanchlid You have my full sympathies, man. I have Degenerative Disk Disease, Tourette's Syndrome, ADHD, clinical depression, and a whole boatload of associated sleep disorders and the like. I've had three surgeries on my spine (L5 S1 disk) since I was 19 (I'm 46 now) and I also live in constant pain, and my medications can make me weird, too... but then again I was always weird (and proud of it!) 😉 So I totally feel for you. I have the classics one and really would like an origins Talon Fighter too. I think the classics Point Dred and Talon Fighter is really big. I would much rather see an origins style one. I heard rumors and seen some possible teaser images floating around on one coming or planned for the origins line next year. But will see. I hope so too!👍

Great review my friend! That display spinner is the perfect size for the Origins Roton! ha ha I never had the vintage Roton either, but the Classics one is huge! I do have that too. I found it hilarious that Origins Skeletor can take a nap while travelling. 😁😂 I do like the Roton, it is the correct size for vintage and Origins. It will surprise me when I do see it in person at a store or online.

Speaking of stands, I wish they made the vehicle stands double the height, so they up higher. On a shelf, the size they made is fine. But if you like to display your warriors in a group all together in a battle scene, you want the vehicles to be high up, not character high. ha ha Just finding something to complain about! 😁😁 Yes the Classics one is just huge for Origins, but comical for it as well. I'm in no hurry for the Roton, but I will be happy once I do find it. By the way. that was a really cool Attak Trak! That's the vehicle that always seems to get left out, and its too popular to be. We never got one in Classics, so I'm hoping Origins comes though. 🙂
@@allmusicfan88 Yeah I agree about the fight stands! They are a little short! You can always elevate the bottom of the base by custom making something out of styrphome or would. I have done that before to raise stuff. No Rush on getting one. Wait till they are out and on clearance . I see this pattern with all the origins Stuff. I wish a attack trak came out in the classics with many other things. But that line ended unfortunately. I really wanted a cool looking Attack Trak I remember having one as a kid. So I went on ebay bought one new in box and put it together as well as painted it as a cool shelf model display.👍

Seems like most of Origins is on clearance now, but they never have it in stock. ha ha Can't have it both ways, I guess. The vintage Attak Trak required batteries, as well as the Dragon Walker. I guess that's why Mattel didn't make them for Classics. That's my guess anyway. I'm hoping for a vintage style Attak Trak, and the icing on the cake would be a Filmation style Trak, with a four seater. :) ha ha One can dream! :)

Now while I appreciate the inclusion of the canopy, but I’d rather have had a flight stand to go with it instead, or a stand and the canopy but retail it for another 5. However the roton itself is flawless and I love it
Yeah it really should have come with a flight stand to be honest and the other two accessories as well. Look at stridor. He was packed with a base and other accessories. But you can always use the Wind raider, Sky sled and stridor bases if you have them and not using those. Aside that! This is what we got and it has wheels to move around. When I was a kid I just thought the Roton drove around and hovered a bit off the ground. I didn't think it flew like the Wind raider. I'm just happy we have this piece in the origins line now! I still have my vintage Roton (even though I lost a gun and the green stickers are worn on it), but normally I have Whiplash sitting in it because they were both advertised on the same commercial at the time The vintage Roton did not come with the hood and its bottom had no detail and it worked on one wheel in the centre of the base
Yeah I remember that commercial with whiplash in it. No the vintage didn't come with a hood or face plate. The monagram Model Roton I spoke about in the review came with the hood and face plate. So it was neat to see the origins go in that direction with this Roton now. The vintage one was really fun as a kid. Its just as fun to see it once again in the origins line with the action features and new accessories. Thanks for sharing your comments on your memories with Motu!👍
Yeah I preorded it at the time and it was still expensive! They are on ebay for about double the cost now in box unfortunately. Is a cool piece. But takes up a ton of room.
Yeah mine came from The UK and shipped to the USA. I don't even think it has been released here yet or I have not seen or heard about it in any stores.
They could have added the hood and faceplate to offset the lack of scaling or the minimum amount of scaling for the origins figures. I am a little curious of how the vintage figures would fit tho.
Thanks for watching the video. I would think the vintage figures fit fine. The origins are a little bigger in size and the seat opening is bigger is this roton then the vintage one from what I know. The hood and face plate was inspired from the 1980s monagram Roton kit in the 80s. And added to this new Origins Roton.

Hey man! Yep! I totally agree! Don't ever pay what I do. I do it for different reasons. More of an investment to my channel to help things grow a little and to make my reviews a little more unique by having somethings early. I would never spend the extra money like this if I was just collecting. I would wait a couple months and get it at retail or BBTS like everyone else. I use it for a monster coming out of my classics snake mountain.i also got the battle cat from that cgi set and modifed the saddle to fit the origins He-man. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your comments on the monagram Attak Trak! Yeah I picked up the blue Variant on ebay. But I wish I also had the red variant too for the nastalgia of the vintage. I wanted that as a display piece. So I wasn't putting any figures in it after I decided to paint it. The origins really dont fit right in it like most vintage vehicles because they are bigger. I primed the main body, guns and hood Then spray painted the two different parts. I sprayed two paint coats. Then applied the stickers after it dried and sprayed a clear coat. I also went on Ebay and got a set of vintage flip tracks and adapted it to that model with a little work. Hopefully you can find your in storage and put together that kit. That's a Really awesome vehicle for display👍
I didn’t realize yours was one of the blue dominant ones, goes to show how with the paint it doesn’t really matter. and it definitely needs paint! i remember as a kid my next door neighbor had the monogram version and it felt really light and cheap but now I realize what they were doing is offering one that has more intricate detail that younger kids would break off, especially the teeth which are just so cool looking IMO. makes me wonder how the battery attak trak would look like with its teeth painted, which in turn evokes the custom work of that guy on instagram who paints vintage figures with tons of detail, it looks freakin amazing
not that I will ever actually get around to doing any of this stuff, but my recent visit to Tap plastics makes me wonder if I could add a decent looking transparent window to the monogram wheels, maybe even using a Dremel tool to carve the details on the interior side 🤔
@@knuthamsun6106 Yeah I got the blue version and painted it backwards! The monagram kit models have cool details but I would primer and paint just like you would a model kit. They were meant to be snap together models/ toys that could be used with the vintage MOTU figures in the 80s or made to look like professional models. So yeah I would definitely paint and use the stickers. Looks way cooler.
@@knuthamsun6106 You could. Its funny I thought the same thing with the wheels about adding Clear plastic. Yes you would have to dremel and sand the outside pieces out. It's alot of work. But if you know how to customize you can do anything. I found it easier to put the Vintage tracks on the monagram sprockets. I think that's what I did. I was gonna paint the vintage outsides too of the flip tracks and add the rubber bands. But I just left it.
I'm too young to know of the older ones, but these look cool. I wish they used paint instead of stickers, but its still nice to have more vehicles. Thanks for the information bro. Nice review. - Rohan
Thanks for watching bro! The older ones had stickers too. The classics Roton that I compared had all sculpting and paint. That is awesome instead of stickers. But the origins are just going back to what the vintage line was about but with some improvements and modern sculpts. However the more complex areas will get stickers instead of paint and sculpting details because it will cost alot more. Otherwise it's cool to see this stuff again and I like what they are doing with it. I appreciate Sharing your comments too!👍
@@rohantherevolution Thanks man! The trick is to spray prime, two Spray coats of the color and a then two coats of clear coat. Of course you let each spray coat dry over night and make sure the spray nozzle is clean so you don't getting any paint clumps. That's how you get a factory finish on models. Never hand paint. Only small parts. 👍
1 year later & this is now an army builder. One of the Walmarts near me has a ton of these on clearance for $13. Less than the price of a regular Origins figure. I originally wasn't going to get this but for $13 I can't pass it up.
That's an awesome price! This is a really cool Roton for Origins with the action features, Hood, and Face plates. I only got this one still. But if you have space or want to army build with a MOTU vehicle! Then this is the one👍

@sci-fi.tsunami Three Rotons will be cool in a display or army building with. Yeah, the Origins are really cheap in many stores now or on clearance! I'm surprised your wallmart got a Talon Fighter. That's kind of cool. I remember seeing some strydors in Target months ago looking around in there. I think Masterverse is gonna be online at this point unless it's exclusives from what I heard.

This is off topic but hey Man Child you should look at the Power rangers Pirantishead figure. I picked up two of them from Target yesterday and I'm using them as henchmen for Origins Merman. I also got a trident and sword from the Etsy seller for Merman and with his new weapons in the two henchmen it looks great. Especially if you was to either paint merman to match them or them to match him it would really tie it all together.
That's a cool idea! That's for the suggestion. Actually my toy custom budget was just spent on the storm collectibles golden axe exclusives translucent Skelatons. I want to try make an army of the deal figures from the art I seen on the origins Palace gaurds and Wun-Dar cards. They are 6 inch figures. So they won't go with the origins. But can go with the revalation or classics👍
@@Themanchlid I have said that every time I've seen that artwork. I think they're scared to try to make new figures thinking they maybe won't sell but an army builder like that would be excellent and would be something new and fun. I also wish they would make that frog guy from the dungeon that they've shown in several of the card arts.
@@jonhahn6557 Yeah exactly! They teased the Skeletons and frog guy twice. Perfect army builders as you mentioned. They would sell well I think. Mattel has teased so many cool things on the cards. We have seen maybe half those images so far!
@@jonhahn6557 Yeah they showed that Tri-Klops looking characters in the new Wun-Dar comic book and on the Leo' duplicate two pack. The possibilities are endless with MOTU. It just depends if these lines stick around. I would like to see the origins finish off all the vstuff at least and see more original characters in the revalation line like Whiplash, Clawful and Webstor to start. Time will tell I guess. I try not to over think it and just am happy with all the MOTU stuff that has been produced in the last year!
Fantastic as usual. Right I like the look of this but the price £30 it’s a little steep for me. I own a very good condition vintage but the origins don’t fit in it great would you believe. I’m gonna wait until it drops in price as I got the land shark when it came out and last week it was £12 on Amazon U.K. I do always make sure I get the figures I want as they can vanish but I think I’ll sit on this for now. I expected it to be bigger like the wind raider is. Thanks again.
Thankyou again for stopping in to check out the video. Yeah just wait until it goes on sale at some point. It only just came out a week or two ago. I don't have.a vintage one as I mentioned but had a feeling the inside was smaller and would not fit the origins. Many vintage vehicles are like that. The origins are a little bigger. I thought the Roton would have been larger too like the wind raider. That's why I compared them. But it's fine for what it is and I'm just happy we have a decent one now in the origins line. @@byronlaw6491 Yeah you think. The issue is the origins are a little larger if you compare them to the vintage. So they don't work in many vintage vehicles from what I tried personally or they fit very tight.
Yep! Same here in NJ. I would be waiting forever to get stuff like this.I just buy it online. I got this from a hobby shop in france. The shipping was expensive. But it's here and gave me something new to review on my channel a little early. If you can get it from Amazon or online preorder. I would go for it👍

Yeah that's what im thinking. You can probley find one on clearance. If you have the room. You can always have two wind raiders. Also I might hang mine from a wooden shelf or the ceiling with hooks and clear fishing string. I have done that with many of my flying monsters or vehicles. They look awesome! And it saves space. The Roton would be better on the stand. The Wind raider would be better hanging. You know what! I'm hanging mine and using the stand for my Roton! Thanks bro! You gave me a better solution then buying another vehicles!👍
Yeah so the vintage one is a little smaller. Someone else told me the origins cound not fit in the vintage roton or they got stuck. I tried the origins in my vintage Spydor and they dont work either The origins are a little bigger then the vintage figures. So it makes sense! So the new Roton its a little bigger at least! Yes. That's what I said in the review I believe. The classics made them in a three pack as characters for the line with bios. But they were produced from the images of them on the monagram box art in the vehicles as you said.
@@knuthamsun6106 I got that set later in the classics line on ebay like most of my stuff. I think I seen the figures on the back of one of the classics boxes. Then I looked them up. And of coarse plenty for sale. I remembered them or now knew were they were inspired from. The art on those Monogram kits. I couldn't believe the classics line made those figuresxand in a three pack. Really cool stuff. I would love to see the origins make those figures. But I don't see that! You never know though!
It wouldn't hurt for them to make the Roton about 20-30% bigger, I was buying these to fit my larger guys in....I feel like they were being a little clever with the first few Origins vehicles making them bigger but seems like they are pulling back on total plastic used.
Yes I have to agree! I try to be positive and greatful that The Masters of the universe lines are so strong once again and being sold at retail. I like The Classics, Revalations and origins lines the best! They all share the same Universe and Story of the core characters but also adding new ones. The origins line is really doing a great job of reimaging the vintage toy line and that nastalgia many of us grew up with, But with better sculpts, Articulation and the sizes as you mentioned. That was one of the first comments I made in the beginning of the video that I thought it would be bigger. Some else measured their vintage Roton as I don't have one no more, and said the origins is a little bigger. But not by much. So yes! This should have been bigger I think. Look at what the classics did with that Roton! Its Huge! It's still cool to see a new Roton in the origins line and set up like the Vitage Monagram model kit with the hood and face. Kind of. I showed it in the review with a origins, classics and Masterverse Skeletor sitting in it. They look big in it and sit off the seat. You also can't use the hood with the classics or revalations sitting in it.

@@geekillustratordad4982 Thats what was cool with He-man! It was a mix between Starwars and Conan. I had friends that had a ton of Starwars stuff! The line was a really deep rabbit Hole. So was Gi Joe. I had a few Things from those lines. But He-man was so much fun and much easier at that time to follow the figures, characters and accessories that came out. Not to mention the looks, colors, laser weapons and everyone was built like Mr America! Super appealing to a kid! The MOTU brand was lightning in a bottle!👍

@@Themanchlid let's hold thumbs; that would be amazeballs. But I'm still concerned how difficult it is to get these toys. My entire collection had to be imported from Europe. Even the bigbadtoy store seems to lack stock, while MOTU origins is on sale in the larger stores that no one out of the US has access to.
@@LordBadenRulez Yep! We have Problems too getting this stuff. I get mine early and import stuff all the time for a higher cost to review it ahead of time on my channel. @@treyjohnson4035 The origins have strange distribution patterns from day one. Somethings were exclusives only for a while or early release in other countries because of USA retail is not ready or doesn't have the shelf space from the current stocking plantagram. Many retail shelfs have so many other origins things sitting there on clearance. So unless newer products are approved for that space. They will be shipped were there is other Retail or hobby store demand first. That's my guess anyway. I would love to see all those vehicles. But it all depends on how stuff like the Roton sells once it's out.
Lol. Yeah I'm sure. I had most of the vintage MOTU collection in the day. I was missing a few thing but did have the Roton. I never really played with my stuff. I was more of a collector even then at ages 9 and 10..but did have a few extra things I would mess around with. This Origins Roton is loud. I can imagine kids playing with now in the house today!
Really gutted the Origins Roton is so small. I was really counting on it being bigger like the Origins Wind Raider is and honestly I think even for Origins figures it looks too small and goofy. I collect Revelation figures and just buying Origins vehicles that fit well (like the Wind Raider and Stridor) and really wanted a large Roton to fit Trap Jaw in cos he rides one in the show (til he gets punched out of it by Man-At-Arms). That Classics one looks fantastic. And has a Skelcon (which I'm hoping for Masterverse version cos they were in Revelation and would make a great army builder and I've liked them since the old Ladybird books I had in the 80s). But I bet that Classics one ain't cheap. The Origins one is a definite pass for me.

That was another reason I brought that in for a comparison in the review! The origins Wind Raider is almost as big as the classics. That classics Roton is Huge! I had it in box for a few years. I only took it out to compare against the new origins Roton. I couldn't believe How large the classics Roton was and how small The origins one is! Someone in the the comments did measure their vintage Roton ans said the New origins Roton was a little bigger in the Seat and across the blade from seeing my measurement in the review. Technically the new Roton can fit the Revalation and classics. But it does look small when they are it and you can't use the hood. It is what it is I guess. I just look it as a smaller vehicle now. The origins look good in it and thats what it was designed for. Of course there is always that classics with the Skelcon Warrior on ebay. But it's around 250 plus dollars new in box unfortunately.
@@Themanchlid Yeah, unfortunately for me, the Origins Roton has no purpose and therefore Mattel won't be getting my money for that one. It looks ridiculously small with a Rev figure in it. Funny how the Wind Raider got upsized so much (though still not quite to Filmation size where several characters could fit into including BATTLE CAT :P ) cos they knew the original vintage Wind Raider looked like a joke with a vintage figure sat in it (looked more like a Wind Raider styled dodgem car) but didn't do the same for the Roton. Oh well, enjoy the Roton with your Origins figures. :) And damn you for owning that Classics one that is silly monies now. :D
@@carn9507 I hear you on that! The origins is a great line! They came out with some really figures that were very reminisent of the vintage line but with little better sculpts, Details and paint. Many cases bigger as well..But every now and then they there's that thing that many people are dissapointed with! I think the origins Roton will be one of those things because of the smaller size. I'm reading mixed comments on it. That's the only complaint now and then. It's perfectly understandable! I preorded that classics Roton in box from a seller online at the time. It was much cheaper then compared to what it goes for now on ebay. The classics was a great line! It stinks it ended!
@@Themanchlid Yeah, I have a couple of Origins figures but the style and proportions just never really appealed to me (also something really bugs me about how far the shoulders bulge out, not sure why they do that) and I was so disappointed with Battle Cat lacking the all important front paw ankle joints I just sorta gave up. Masterverse though is my fave figure line in a looong time (particularly the Revelation figures as I really fell in love with that 'universe' and it's characters and me being invested in actual character's stories makes me more likely to want the figures, I'm cherry picking the other sublines like New Eternia and She-Ra, I've no need for the CGI ones but happy for those who are fans of the recent CGI toon and want quality figures of it's He-Man and Skeletor). Love the sculpts and articulation they managed to put into a line of figures I can actually find in stores and not just specialist nerd stores either but general toy stores that often usually just sell the kiddy stuff. I just figured with the Wind Raider, Mattel were possibly aiming to make all Origins vehicles compatible with both Origins and Masterverse, negating the need for Masterverse to have it's own dedicated vehicle line and so making more money out of toys they've already produced. I was never a big fan of Classics (and annoys me greatly that much of the same issues I had with the Classics buck are still present in ThunderCats Classics, which is my fave cartoon ever but the issues I have with the figrues, the fact that each figure is about £50 each with the awesome looking tank about £500, means I can't afford it and just have Lion-O as the sole representative...and mine had QC issues and Super 7 were useless in helping me... Whereas if I get even a slight flaw with a Masterverse figure I call Mattel and they refund the ENTIRE figure's price and let me keep the faulty one too. :O ). My only real complain with Masterverse is some of the head sculpts are a bit weak but the ones that do bug me the most I replace with custom ones from a chap calls himself HordakMX and now my He-Man and Skeletor are among my fave figures I've ever owned. :P I dunno why Mattel has so much trouble with He-Man's face. The first Origins, the Revelation (which I've come to finding kinda charming, but the slight smile is no good for all the action poses I like to do), the first couple Classics (one of those looked like he was suffering with allergies and had rednessa round his eyes). I've never been a huge fan of his vintage face and find it pretty ugly but yeah, dunno why they have such trouble with nailing the face of their number one hero. Anyways sorry I'm babbling. I'm autistic and also a very fast touchtypist when using my PC with the actual proper keyboard with tappity tap keys rather than a touchscreen phone. :P Have a good day and enjoy all your cool toys. :)
You not beat the Classics in comparisons. Bring that Classics Roton against the origins one was just unfair! Lol but it's what I had and wanted to show the extreame differences between the two. The origins is trying to do something completly different from the classics. I like the nastalgia and the more simple looks of the origins line. But I loved what the classics did and put out. It's always sad that line coundent be around too!
@@MNC122703 Yeah you can't put the origins and classics Together to long. You'll hate the origins, lol. I have Two Río blasts from the classics. I customized one. I'll show that one day. Awesome Hauls coming. The Classics Rioblast is cool looking. But the guns can't go in the chest or legs like the vintage. That was a big complaint. It didn't bother me to much!

@@sunnyshine2215 lol. I'm a little spec on youtube! But I have run my mouth many times on this eternia being teased and even wrote a email to mattel about it! But never got a response. I think if anything, we will see a Snake mountain, Fright zone, Talon Fighter and slime pit first before an eternia. If mattel carried on the origins line and produces those pieces then they sell well. Maybe they would consider making an eternia playset. That is alot of tooling and sculpting costs. Probley a million dollar investment today. So its up in the air. I would like to see them run a fan kickstater for it. Then it would have a good chance i think!👍

Hey girl! Yeah I had the vintage Roton and the monagram Roton too. I thought this would have been a little bigger. But it's fine for the origins line. Many people didn't it. I thought it was cool. The sattle was strange or to Wide. But aside that, I liked it. The horse would be big too. I have the classics stridor and nightstalker. They are big and expensive! I'm not sure if that line really wants to go into that stuff. Veichles and play sets are really costly to make now. But we will see👍

The Origins Castle Greyskull is so damn fantastic; my mom was going to get me one for Christmas but she thought it was going to cost several hundred dollars and we just couldn't afford it; she didn't realize it was only about 75 bucks, so when I told her the real price on Christmas day she ordered one for me as a late present. Just like when I was a kid.
Who says being 46 is too old to get Castle Greyskull as a Christmas present? 😁

I'm 48 and everytime I get stuff in the mail it's like Christmas again. You got to think positive and be happy. If action figures help do that now. That's what you do✌️

The origins new Roton and the classics was inspired by a combination of the vintage and the 80s Monagram Roton Model kit. So thats were the idea of the hood and face plate came from. But never less. I think the biggest thing with them is to make it like a model kit as far as paint details, like priming, paint and Semi gloss coat then stickers like I did. It looks much better that way. A new origins Screech would be great! There are a few version of the yellow evil lyn floating around Ebay with new knees. I got one in card. But they are now going for alot of money. So I would hope an origins Screech would come with a new evil lyn. There is a Zoar and Teela two pack coming out this summer. I got one preorderd at Big bad Toy store. The new Teela also comes with new knees too👍

Thanks for trying the different figs from Classics and Masterverse. That’s what I was waiting to see! I mainly collect Masterverse and other ~6” figs, so I’m using Origins “vehicles” like a Sky Sled, Stridor, and Panthor. Those all scale well. Waiting on the Wind Raider to go on clearance to try it out. Wondering if you tried bending the knees more. I know the loin cloths get in the way though.
Thanks for watching and sharing your interest in the video! Yeah I tried bending the knees a little more and messing around getting Revelation skeletor in better. I did also try He-man. He did fit a little better. In the end they work. But still sit off the seat and look big, you also can't use the cover unless you wanted to make some kind of pole inserts to adapt to the pegs and paint them black or red. You use round plastic happy stock to try that. The Roton does look small with Revelation or classics figures in it. But it does work and who says it can't be smaller like the sky sled or a smaller version Roton in skeletors Stock of equipment. Again I'm comparing it to the classics. It would have been cool if it was a little bigger. But they did make the inside bigger. The the vintage one can't fit the origins figures from what I have told.
So because of the bigger inside the other figures can fit now! Hope that helps and thanks again for the comments👍
The Origins Wind Raider is pretty huge and fits Revelation figures absolutely fine. Which is odd considering it's one of the few vehicles NOT seen in Revelation. :P Also I think someone at Mattel intended the WR to be used with RV because the early stock photo (that said 'do not distribute' on it) that was on the Amazon listing back in last July showed Revelation Savage He-Man piloting it, which is all kinds of strange. Shame the Roton wasn't made with Masterverse in mind. I was really hoping it would be a lot bigger.
@@carn9507 The origins Wind Raider fits The revalation and classics really well. I remember reviewing that and trying The origins, Revalations and Classics figures in it. I don't remember seeing any promotion images aside what was on the box. But it did come out really cool. I was impressed that all the origins new vehicles and cats were larger then the vintage ones. I'm not sure why they didn't bump the origins Roton up much larger. I'm guessing cost at this point.

I just got this a week ago. I went into Wal mart and they had two sitting there. One was a bit damaged so, I grabbed the other one. The box is so big, I couldn't get it into a shopping bag, so I had to carry it under my arm on the walk back home. Kind of a pain, but it was worth it. lol Fingers crossed for Point Dread!
Yeah Big Box for this Roton. These are also showing up all over now. It's another fun Origins Veichle to have. I'm guessing we might see a point Dread and Talon Fighter next year for Origins.👌

I have been systematically trying to collect all of the Origins line. As of now I have 23 figures, plus Battlecat and Panthor, Stridor, the Wind Raider, the Skysled, and Castle Greyskull. I have been eagerly awaiting a release of Roton, and seeing that it is now out just makes my day, as does the continued expansion of the membership of the Evil Horde, which has always been my favorite sub-group in the MotU line; I have Leech and Mantenna ordered, I have a single Horde Trooper (but I need to get a few more to form a squad,) Mosquitor, and the base Hordak (my _favorite_ character in the entire Masters line.) I'll be ordering Hurricane Hordak soon. I have to go slowly, though, since I'm disabled and live on a fixed income, but I'm doing my best to get all of them.
As a child of the '80s who had lots and lots of He-Man guys along with my little brother (usually purchased by my mother in bargain bins a few years after they were initially released, so although we'd get them a while later than all the other kids, mom made sure we had a lot of them!) the Origins line is utterly fantastic; I absolutely adore this "retro style, modern play" design philosophy behind the Master of the Universe: Origins line. They look and feel just like the toys I originally had as a kid, only _better,_ and with such great sculpting and articulation. I am just thrilled by the whole line; I hope they are selling well and contemporary kids are enjoying them enough to keep the line going, and keep the Masters of the Universe alive in the minds of today's kids.
I've even been buying my niece and nephew some figures. I got them a She-Ra and He-Man figure, respectively, and they keep them sealed up on their walls, since they're a bit too old to play with them, but they seem to love them. I just hope they release Swift Wind to go with She-Ra, so I can get him and Battlecat to complement their figures.

Wow! That's quite a story about your collection goals. We are all in a simular boat with trying to collect and come up with money for these lines. Especially Masters of the universe. I too retired my job on disability years ago. I get a limited pension and also on a limited income. My wife helps out with many things too. So im fortunate in that sence. I have servere Systemic Lupus and mixed connective tissue disease. I live in constant pain. It takes alot of time and energy to make videos. I really have to plan and edit them. Medications make me weird too! Lol. But making toy videos gives me purpose in life and it allows me to be productive in my own time at my own pace with a hobby I had for over 25 years now!
Yeah just get what you can get within your budget. Wait until you find the Roton on Dale or clearance. Sooner or later these things do. Masters of the univese is one of those lines you have to get them all. The vintage really planted a seed in us to love this toy line. Who knew it would come full circle 40 years later. @@Themanchlid You have my full sympathies, man. I have Degenerative Disk Disease, Tourette's Syndrome, ADHD, clinical depression, and a whole boatload of associated sleep disorders and the like. I've had three surgeries on my spine (L5 S1 disk) since I was 19 (I'm 46 now) and I also live in constant pain, and my medications can make me weird, too... but then again I was always weird (and proud of it!) 😉 So I totally feel for you. All I want before the Origins line dies is a Point Dread and Tallon Fighter set to complete Grayskull.
I have the classics one and really would like an origins Talon Fighter too. I think the classics Point Dred and Talon Fighter is really big. I would much rather see an origins style one. I heard rumors and seen some possible teaser images floating around on one coming or planned for the origins line next year. But will see. I hope so too!👍

Speaking of stands, I wish they made the vehicle stands double the height, so they up higher. On a shelf, the size they made is fine. But if you like to display your warriors in a group all together in a battle scene, you want the vehicles to be high up, not character high. ha ha Just finding something to complain about! 😁😁
Yes the Classics one is just huge for Origins, but comical for it as well. I'm in no hurry for the Roton, but I will be happy once I do find it.
By the way. that was a really cool Attak Trak! That's the vehicle that always seems to get left out, and its too popular to be. We never got one in Classics, so I'm hoping Origins comes though. 🙂
@@allmusicfan88 Yeah I agree about the fight stands! They are a little short! You can always elevate the bottom of the base by custom making something out of styrphome or would. I have done that before to raise stuff. No Rush on getting one. Wait till they are out and on clearance . I see this pattern with all the origins Stuff. I wish a attack trak came out in the classics with many other things. But that line ended unfortunately. I really wanted a cool looking Attack Trak I remember having one as a kid. So I went on ebay bought one new in box and put it together as well as painted it as a cool shelf model display.👍

The vintage Attak Trak required batteries, as well as the Dragon Walker. I guess that's why Mattel didn't make them for Classics.
That's my guess anyway. I'm hoping for a vintage style Attak Trak, and the icing on the cake would be a Filmation style Trak, with a four seater. :) ha ha One can dream! :)

Yeah it really should have come with a flight stand to be honest and the other two accessories as well. Look at stridor. He was packed with a base and other accessories. But you can always use the Wind raider, Sky sled and stridor bases if you have them and not using those. Aside that! This is what we got and it has wheels to move around. When I was a kid I just thought the Roton drove around and hovered a bit off the ground. I didn't think it flew like the Wind raider. I'm just happy we have this piece in the origins line now! I still have my vintage Roton (even though I lost a gun and the green stickers are worn on it), but normally I have Whiplash sitting in it because they were both advertised on the same commercial at the time
The vintage Roton did not come with the hood and its bottom had no detail and it worked on one wheel in the centre of the base
Yeah I remember that commercial with whiplash in it. No the vintage didn't come with a hood or face plate. The monagram Model Roton I spoke about in the review came with the hood and face plate. So it was neat to see the origins go in that direction with this Roton now. The vintage one was really fun as a kid. Yeah mine came from The UK and shipped to the USA. I don't even think it has been released here yet or I have not seen or heard about it in any stores.
They could have added the hood and faceplate to offset the lack of scaling or the minimum amount of scaling for the origins figures. I am a little curious of how the vintage figures would fit tho.

The hood and face plate was inspired from the 1980s monagram Roton kit in the 80s. And added to this new Origins Roton.

Hey man! Yep! I totally agree! Don't ever pay what I do. I do it for different reasons. More of an investment to my channel to help things grow a little and to make my reviews a little more unique by having somethings early. I would never spend the extra money like this if I was just collecting. I would wait a couple months and get it at retail or BBTS like everyone else. But I totally see this on sale in stores down the road on clearance like many Motu things. Hope all is well and thanks for stopping by my friend!👍

Yeah I picked up the blue Variant on ebay. But I wish I also had the red variant too for the nastalgia of the vintage. I wanted that as a display piece. So I wasn't putting any figures in it after I decided to paint it. The origins really dont fit right in it like most vintage vehicles because they are bigger.
I primed the main body, guns and hood Then spray painted the two different parts. I sprayed two paint coats. Then applied the stickers after it dried and sprayed a clear coat. I also went on Ebay and got a set of vintage flip tracks and adapted it to that model with a little work. Hopefully you can find your in storage and put together that kit. That's a Really awesome vehicle for display👍
I didn’t realize yours was one of the blue dominant ones, goes to show how with the paint it doesn’t really matter. and it definitely needs paint! i remember as a kid my next door neighbor had the monogram version and it felt really light and cheap but now I realize what they were doing is offering one that has more intricate detail that younger kids would break off, especially the teeth which are just so cool looking IMO. makes me wonder how the battery attak trak would look like with its teeth painted, which in turn evokes the custom work of that guy on instagram who paints vintage figures with tons of detail, it looks freakin amazing
not that I will ever actually get around to doing any of this stuff, but my recent visit to Tap plastics makes me wonder if I could add a decent looking transparent window to the monogram wheels, maybe even using a Dremel tool to carve the details on the interior side 🤔
@@knuthamsun6106 Yeah I got the blue version and painted it backwards! The monagram kit models have cool details but I would primer and paint just like you would a model kit. They were meant to be snap together models/ toys that could be used with the vintage MOTU figures in the 80s or made to look like professional models. So yeah I would definitely paint and use the stickers. Looks way cooler.
@@knuthamsun6106 You could. Its funny I thought the same thing with the wheels about adding Clear plastic. Yes you would have to dremel and sand the outside pieces out. It's alot of work. But if you know how to customize you can do anything. I found it easier to put the Vintage tracks on the monagram sprockets. I think that's what I did. I was gonna paint the vintage outsides too of the flip tracks and add the rubber bands. But I just left it.
I'm too young to know of the older ones, but these look cool. I wish they used paint instead of stickers, but its still nice to have more vehicles. Thanks for the information bro. Nice review. - Rohan
Thanks for watching bro! The older ones had stickers too. The classics Roton that I compared had all sculpting and paint. That is awesome instead of stickers. But the origins are just going back to what the vintage line was about but with some improvements and modern sculpts. However the more complex areas will get stickers instead of paint and sculpting details because it will cost alot more. Otherwise it's cool to see this stuff again and I like what they are doing with it. I appreciate Sharing your comments too!👍

@@rohantherevolution Thanks man! The trick is to spray prime, two Spray coats of the color and a then two coats of clear coat. Of course you let each spray coat dry over night and make sure the spray nozzle is clean so you don't getting any paint clumps. That's how you get a factory finish on models. Never hand paint. Only small parts. 👍

@sci-fi.tsunami Three Rotons will be cool in a display or army building with. Yeah, the Origins are really cheap in many stores now or on clearance! I'm surprised your wallmart got a Talon Fighter. That's kind of cool. I remember seeing some strydors in Target months ago looking around in there. I think Masterverse is gonna be online at this point unless it's exclusives from what I heard.

This is off topic but hey Man Child you should look at the Power rangers Pirantishead figure. I picked up two of them from Target yesterday and I'm using them as henchmen for Origins Merman. I also got a trident and sword from the Etsy seller for Merman and with his new weapons in the two henchmen it looks great. Especially if you was to either paint merman to match them or them to match him it would really tie it all together.
That's a cool idea! That's for the suggestion. Actually my toy custom budget was just spent on the storm collectibles golden axe exclusives translucent Skelatons. I want to try make an army of the deal figures from the art I seen on the origins Palace gaurds and Wun-Dar cards. They are 6 inch figures. So they won't go with the origins. But can go with the revalation or classics👍

I think they're scared to try to make new figures thinking they maybe won't sell but an army builder like that would be excellent and would be something new and fun. I also wish they would make that frog guy from the dungeon that they've shown in several of the card arts.

@@jonhahn6557 Yeah they showed that Tri-Klops looking characters in the new Wun-Dar comic book and on the Leo' duplicate two pack. The possibilities are endless with MOTU. It just depends if these lines stick around. I would like to see the origins finish off all the vstuff at least and see more original characters in the revalation line like Whiplash, Clawful and Webstor to start. Time will tell I guess. I try not to over think it and just am happy with all the MOTU stuff that has been produced in the last year!
Fantastic as usual. Right I like the look of this but the price £30 it’s a little steep for me. I own a very good condition vintage but the origins don’t fit in it great would you believe. I’m gonna wait until it drops in price as I got the land shark when it came out and last week it was £12 on Amazon U.K. I do always make sure I get the figures I want as they can vanish but I think I’ll sit on this for now. Thankyou again for stopping in to check out the video. Yeah just wait until it goes on sale at some point. It only just came out a week or two ago. I don't have.a vintage one as I mentioned but had a feeling the inside was smaller and would not fit the origins. Many vintage vehicles are like that. The origins are a little bigger. I thought the Roton would have been larger too like the wind raider. That's why I compared them. But it's fine for what it is and I'm just happy we have a decent one now in the origins line. Thanks for letting me know the different with the vintage and origins Roton as far as how the figures work. Always helps other people if they have questions in the comments like that. @@Themanchlid yeah I presumed the better articulation of the origins would mean they fit better in the original vehicles but that’s not the case. It’s still great that they keep making these tho.
@@byronlaw6491 Yeah you think. The issue is the origins are a little larger if you compare them to the vintage. So they don't work in many vintage vehicles from what I tried personally or they fit very tight.
Yeah they've been basically giving the Land Shark away recently. And Stridor was £15 compared to usual £30 to £35.

Yep! Same here in NJ. I would be waiting forever to get stuff like this.I just buy it online. I got this from a hobby shop in france. The shipping was expensive. But it's here and gave me something new to review on my channel a little early. If you can get it from Amazon or online preorder. I would go for it👍

Yeah that's what im thinking. You can probley find one on clearance. If you have the room. You can always have two wind raiders. Also I might hang mine from a wooden shelf or the ceiling with hooks and clear fishing string. I have done that with many of my flying monsters or vehicles. They look awesome! And it saves space. The Roton would be better on the stand. The Wind raider would be better hanging. You know what! I'm hanging mine and using the stand for my Roton! Thanks bro! You gave me a better solution then buying another vehicles!👍
My original Roton is 8.5" by 3.5" with a seat thats 4" by 2.25" (just measured it).
Yeah so the vintage one is a little smaller. Someone else told me the origins cound not fit in the vintage roton or they got stuck. I tried the origins in my vintage Spydor and they dont work either
The origins are a little bigger then the vintage figures. So it makes sense!

Yes. That's what I said in the review I believe. The classics made them in a three pack as characters for the line with bios. But they were produced from the images of them on the monagram box art in the vehicles as you said.

@@knuthamsun6106 I got that set later in the classics line on ebay like most of my stuff. I think I seen the figures on the back of one of the classics boxes. Then I looked them up. And of coarse plenty for sale. I remembered them or now knew were they were inspired from. The art on those Monogram kits. I couldn't believe the classics line made those figuresxand in a three pack. Really cool stuff. I would love to see the origins make those figures. But I don't see that! You never know though!
It wouldn't hurt for them to make the Roton about 20-30% bigger, I was buying these to fit my larger guys in....I feel like they were being a little clever with the first few Origins vehicles making them bigger but seems like they are pulling back on total plastic used.
Yes I have to agree! I try to be positive and greatful that The Masters of the universe lines are so strong once again and being sold at retail. I like The Classics, Revalations and origins lines the best! They all share the same Universe and Story of the core characters but also adding new ones. The origins line is really doing a great job of reimaging the vintage toy line and that nastalgia many of us grew up with, But with better sculpts, Articulation and the sizes as you mentioned. That was one of the first comments I made in the beginning of the video that I thought it would be bigger. Some else measured their vintage Roton as I don't have one no more, and said the origins is a little bigger. But not by much. So yes! This should have been bigger I think. Look at what the classics did with that Roton! Its Huge! It's still cool to see a new Roton in the origins line and set up like the Vitage Monagram model kit with the hood and face. Can you put a Masterverse figure in?
Kind of. I showed it in the review with a origins, classics and Masterverse Skeletor sitting in it. They look big in it and sit off the seat. You also can't use the hood with the classics or revalations sitting in it.
I remember seeing them by the dozens in the Cincy area on clearance( Eternia) , at that point I was out of He-Man. Punching my younger self.

@@geekillustratordad4982 Thats what was cool with He-man! It was a mix between Starwars and Conan. I had friends that had a ton of Starwars stuff! The line was a really deep rabbit Hole. So was Gi Joe. I had a few Things from those lines. But He-man was so much fun and much easier at that time to follow the figures, characters and accessories that came out. Not to mention the looks, colors, laser weapons and everyone was built like Mr America! Super appealing to a kid! The MOTU brand was lightning in a bottle!👍

@@Themanchlid let's hold thumbs; that would be amazeballs. But I'm still concerned how difficult it is to get these toys. My entire collection had to be imported from Europe. Even the bigbadtoy store seems to lack stock, while MOTU origins is on sale in the larger stores that no one out of the US has access to.
@@LordBadenRulez Yep! We have Problems too getting this stuff. I get mine early and import stuff all the time for a higher cost to review it ahead of time on my channel. I hear the comments all the time how difficult some of these figures are to get! I just Show whats out there! I wish I had better advice were to get them aside BBTS and Ebay sometimes!

@@treyjohnson4035 The origins have strange distribution patterns from day one. Somethings were exclusives only for a while or early release in other countries because of USA retail is not ready or doesn't have the shelf space from the current stocking plantagram. Many retail shelfs have so many other origins things sitting there on clearance. So unless newer products are approved for that space. They will be shipped were there is other Retail or hobby store demand first. That's my guess anyway. I would love to see all those vehicles. But it all depends on how stuff like the Roton sells once it's out.
These were available for pre-order and now they are not. And not in a pre-sold out way, but in a NO LONGER ON THE WEBSITES PERIOD way.
I heard they were on Wallmart.com and even being found in Wallmarts on the West coast in last day ir Two.

Lol. Yeah I'm sure. I had most of the vintage MOTU collection in the day. I was missing a few thing but did have the Roton. I never really played with my stuff. I was more of a collector even then at ages 9 and 10..but did have a few extra things I would mess around with. This Origins Roton is loud. I can imagine kids playing with now in the house today!

Really gutted the Origins Roton is so small. I was really counting on it being bigger like the Origins Wind Raider is and honestly I think even for Origins figures it looks too small and goofy. I collect Revelation figures and just buying Origins vehicles that fit well (like the Wind Raider and Stridor) and really wanted a large Roton to fit Trap Jaw in cos he rides one in the show (til he gets punched out of it by Man-At-Arms). That Classics one looks fantastic. And has a Skelcon (which I'm hoping for Masterverse version cos they were in Revelation and would make a great army builder and I've liked them since the old Ladybird books I had in the 80s). But I bet that Classics one ain't cheap. The Origins one is a definite pass for me.
had me a quick look on eBay for the Classics Roton. Cheapest one in UK is... Pre-owned £274.99 + £8.95 postage. Yeah that ain't happening...

That was another reason I brought that in for a comparison in the review! The origins Wind Raider is almost as big as the classics. That classics Roton is Huge! I had it in box for a few years. I only took it out to compare against the new origins Roton. I couldn't believe How large the classics Roton was and how small The origins one is! Someone in the the comments did measure their vintage Roton ans said the New origins Roton was a little bigger in the Seat and across the blade from seeing my measurement in the review. Technically the new Roton can fit the Revalation and classics. But it does look small when they are it and you can't use the hood. It is what it is I guess. I just look it as a smaller vehicle now. The origins look good in it and thats what it was designed for. Of course there is always that classics with the Skelcon Warrior on ebay. But it's around 250 plus dollars new in box unfortunately.
@@Themanchlid Yeah, unfortunately for me, the Origins Roton has no purpose and therefore Mattel won't be getting my money for that one. It looks ridiculously small with a Rev figure in it. Funny how the Wind Raider got upsized so much (though still not quite to Filmation size where several characters could fit into including BATTLE CAT :P ) cos they knew the original vintage Wind Raider looked like a joke with a vintage figure sat in it (looked more like a Wind Raider styled dodgem car) but didn't do the same for the Roton. Oh well, enjoy the Roton with your Origins figures. :) And damn you for owning that Classics one that is silly monies now. :D
@@carn9507 I hear you on that! The origins is a great line! They came out with some really figures that were very reminisent of the vintage line but with little better sculpts, Details and paint. Many cases bigger as well..But every now and then they there's that thing that many people are dissapointed with! I think the origins Roton will be one of those things because of the smaller size. I'm reading mixed comments on it. That's the only complaint now and then. It's perfectly understandable! I preorded that classics Roton in box from a seller online at the time. It was much cheaper then compared to what it goes for now on ebay. The classics was a great line! It stinks it ended!
@@Themanchlid Yeah, I have a couple of Origins figures but the style and proportions just never really appealed to me (also something really bugs me about how far the shoulders bulge out, not sure why they do that) and I was so disappointed with Battle Cat lacking the all important front paw ankle joints I just sorta gave up. Masterverse though is my fave figure line in a looong time (particularly the Revelation figures as I really fell in love with that 'universe' and it's characters and me being invested in actual character's stories makes me more likely to want the figures, I'm cherry picking the other sublines like New Eternia and She-Ra, I've no need for the CGI ones but happy for those who are fans of the recent CGI toon and want quality figures of it's He-Man and Skeletor). Love the sculpts and articulation they managed to put into a line of figures I can actually find in stores and not just specialist nerd stores either but general toy stores that often usually just sell the kiddy stuff. I just figured with the Wind Raider, Mattel were possibly aiming to make all Origins vehicles compatible with both Origins and Masterverse, negating the need for Masterverse to have it's own dedicated vehicle line and so making more money out of toys they've already produced.
I was never a big fan of Classics (and annoys me greatly that much of the same issues I had with the Classics buck are still present in ThunderCats Classics, which is my fave cartoon ever but the issues I have with the figrues, the fact that each figure is about £50 each with the awesome looking tank about £500, means I can't afford it and just have Lion-O as the sole representative...and mine had QC issues and Super 7 were useless in helping me... Whereas if I get even a slight flaw with a Masterverse figure I call Mattel and they refund the ENTIRE figure's price and let me keep the faulty one too. :O ). My only real complain with Masterverse is some of the head sculpts are a bit weak but the ones that do bug me the most I replace with custom ones from a chap calls himself HordakMX and now my He-Man and Skeletor are among my fave figures I've ever owned. :P I dunno why Mattel has so much trouble with He-Man's face. The first Origins, the Revelation (which I've come to finding kinda charming, but the slight smile is no good for all the action poses I like to do), the first couple Classics (one of those looked like he was suffering with allergies and had rednessa round his eyes). I've never been a huge fan of his vintage face and find it pretty ugly but yeah, dunno why they have such trouble with nailing the face of their number one hero.

You not beat the Classics in comparisons. Bring that Classics Roton against the origins one was just unfair! Lol but it's what I had and wanted to show the extreame differences between the two. The origins is trying to do something completly different from the classics. I like the nastalgia and the more simple looks of the origins line. But I loved what the classics did and put out. It's always sad that line coundent be around too!

Awesome Hauls coming. The Classics Rioblast is cool looking. But the guns can't go in the chest or legs like the vintage. That was a big complaint. It didn't bother me to much!

@@sunnyshine2215 lol. I'm a little spec on youtube! But I have run my mouth many times on this eternia being teased and even wrote a email to mattel about it! But never got a response. I think if anything, we will see a Snake mountain, Fright zone, Talon Fighter and slime pit first before an eternia. If mattel carried on the origins line and produces those pieces then they sell well. Maybe they would consider making an eternia playset. That is alot of tooling and sculpting costs. Probley a million dollar investment today. So its up in the air. I would like to see them run a fan kickstater for it. Then it would have a good chance i think!👍

But whatever, I’m sure fans do like it. I think Slime Pit would be an excellent mini playset to release at retail
@@sunnyshine2215 We really need a new slime pit! The classics line had one planned but it never happend. The point dread does look weird on top of the catsule greyskull. I think we do it because of the nastalgia. But it made more sense of it being on the hill top in that art.👍

@@jigsawnora3207 I could see Skeletors cats coming because they have the tooling with Battle Cat. But there are so many of them on clearance! Not sure how well that revalation cat did. Many people didn't it. I thought it was cool. The sattle was strange or to Wide. But aside that, I liked it. The horse would be big too. I have the classics stridor and nightstalker. They are big and expensive! I'm not sure if that line really wants to go into that stuff. Veichles and play sets are really costly to make now. But we will see👍
