Who says you have to set a good example!?! I love watching you because you are real about the realities of time limitations and how well (or poorly) we estimate how many seedlings we have room to plant. Keep on keeping on, Jenny!

That was EXACTLY what I came here to say. It is not your job to set an example. You welcome us to your garden to see how things are going for you. Resist the perfection police. You're doing fine.

I just got a evergreen in the ground that I bought in Aug 22. I just didn't know where to put it. As a matter of fact it was after one of your tours when you showed your wavy leaf Ligustrum. Haters gonna hate. The majority of us hold stuff in pots.

I agree with others. It's not your responsibility to set a good example just because you have a UA-cam channel. I love Garden Answer for instance but I get a little tired of the perfect garden beds. It's her full time job and she has lots of help. I get more information and inspiration from a gardener like you who is more realistic like myself. 😊

Jenny, I just let 3 six packs of annuals and a large tomato I didn’t pot up die, and I want you to know friend that Life happens! Mentioned a couple vlogs back that you’ve been in a very busy season. We all have lives and I think that by being real and honest is a STRENGTH! Don’t apologize or feel bad. I watch lots of gardening channels and I will tell you you are not alone. BTW I jump to your channel whenever you post. We are all still learning in this life, and if we weren’t we’d be dead. Sorry for the rant but I’m a Jenny fan! 🎉🪴😊🌻🥬👒

Are you a gardener if you don't have a plant stash? I always have one each year for various reasons but one is you have to buy when things are in stock, if I waited until I actually got around to planting everything there would be nothing left. It's real life :) enjoy watching your peaceful videos.

I have commented the same thing before, but I will say it again. I ❤️ that you keep it real and aren’t trying to fake some edited version of reality to make it look like everything is perfect. I am very hard on myself for my failures and you keeping it real and showing me that I am not the only one who does things like letting my poor seedlings die through neglect helps me be kinder to myself. I can’t stress how helpful this is and how harmful it is for me to watch people on YT who spend tons of money, only show the perfect looking areas, and pretend that they have all the answers and never make mistakes. Please keep on being honest, helpful, and real. You are awesome and I am not on YT looking for a specific gardening question, if I have that then I will research, but instead for gardening companionship, shared interests, and motivation, and maybe permission to be kinder to myself and keep going even when it’s a struggle and my current health doesn’t allow me to do what my mind and heart want….all of which you provide. 😊

No, you certainly aren't the only one with a potted plant stash that hasn't been planted. I have quite a few plants still in pots, including a number of small starts of antique roses that I bought and then up-potted to gallon pots. It's getting too hot now to plant in my area, so I'll just keep everything potted until it cools off in the fall. It's easy to keep them watered and taken care of in the pots until I feel comfortable planting them in the ground.

Jenny u might want to consider moving ur blue spruce to a different location , the black walnuts tree had juglone toxic which stays in the ground for many years. Take all the dead stuff in your driveway and empty the seedlings pots and take it to the compost you need to realize that it’s no time to be planting half dead plants. Believe me once you clean up your driveway you’ll feel so much better and then you can just do maintenance on your garden which is enough for this hot time of year. I’m 78 and I’ve done the same things over the years ; things can get overwhelming at points but it’s best to bite the bullet and relax remember garden needs to be fun. God Bless the messes and just maintain what you can during the hot summer.😢

I had mint jump the container it was in and now it ALL over my garden! I think it crept through the drainage holes in the container. While it does keep the rabbits out of the area it smothers all of my plants. Its a garden in progress and it’s taking me awhile to clean it out of all of the overgrowth of weeds. 😢🌸💚🙃

Hi Jenny! I enjoy your videos as I’m around your age and also live in Maryland. Sometimes we do just have to rein ourselves in and stop visiting plant centers until we tend to everything we already have, don’t we? You’ll get it done (just don’t buy anymore until you do 😉) and grab one of those green pop-up bags from your garage to throw the debris in as you go. You’ll save time and your back by not having to go back to clean up. Happy summer!

The only reason half of my seedlings don't languish and die is because I start bringing them to work to give away before they need to be up-potted. Don't feel bad, if I didn't have work people to adopt my seedlings I would be in the same place as you! Life is too busy to keep babying seedlings. They were still fun to grow when it was still too cold outside to garden 😊 I always figure I don't have room for everything I seed start, so it's for the best that some die anyways 😉

I cover my "iffy" plants with an upside down waste basket from dollar store. I had a sunflower under one that was bursting at the seams, thought it would be ok now, but I went outside today and it was eaten to the ground. Either a groundhog or rabbit. Grrr. I try to use rodent resistant plants, thought a sunflower in a corner surrounded by other plants would be ok. Dang! I am always so mad and sad at the destruction. What I don't understand is that there are plants of all sorts in my back yard, trees, vines, berry shrubs, any number of weeds of all types...why do they want to eat garden plants instead of the beautiful wild abundant garden in the backyard?
