- As promised in the last video on mid-west mulloway, Finn runs you though tips, tricks and hints to landing quality fish from the beach in WA. Not only does this apply to mulloway (jewfish), but also to tailor, sharks, snapper, spangled emperor, salmon and a variety of other species.
Finn shows the rig he uses in detail, including hook, swivel, casting clip, sinker and line selection, explaining when each variety is applicable.
Rod selection is also covered, with Assassin low mount surf rods such as the Sabre Surf and traditional surf rods like the Penn Prevail compared and contrasted.
Reels such as the Shimano Saragosa SW and Twinpower SW are also showcased, which have both proven to endure against the elements.
Hope you guys enjoy the vid! - Спорт
Good stuff Finn, keep them coming, cheers
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Excellent vid 👍🏻
Nice Video mate, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience of fishing mulloway. Can you tell me the beach you went to in the last video?
Cheers guys!
thanks guys
Great video guys.
What is your go to knot with the heavy 100/120lb leaders?
Great video mate
Thanks Brett!
@Compleat Angler Nedlands I've loved all your Mulloway videos. I'm heading up to Kalbarri in a few weeks and staying for 6 weeks. Hoping to jag some decent Mulloway
Great place to get into them! The mouth of the Murchison should be good after heavy rain, and the beaches north of the river are fantastic if you can get over there. Good luck!
@Compleat Angler Nedlands Yeah mate looking forward to it. I tried to get in contact with old mate that use to run a Mulloway charter up that way with quad bikes but i think he has shut up shop. I have a tinni and plan to do a mission over the north side. Any idea how far up the gutters start. He was going 15mins on the quad bikes. Red bluff beach also looks like a decent spot.
Red bluff beach/wittecarra is ok, but north of the river is way better. Any gutter north of frustrations should be worth a look
I wanted to try surf casting but I don’t know where I should try,any good place in Perth for surf casting where there’s fish around?
Your best bet is to start fishing a local beach and figure out what makes it tick. You will find that every beach in Perth can produce some great fishing, but each has its own unique characteristics.
Is there a particular tide/time you're looking for when targeting mulloway in the surf
Finn is a big fan of a slack low tide, high or rising air pressure and either moon rise of moon set.
Would you also use the same rig for live herring?
Most of our mulloway fishing is for dead baits, but a livebait can be fished on a slidebait rig
Are you able to leave in the description the gear you use.
Be easier to have the list so I can come in and grab the gear from ya cheers
Sure can! We're more than happy to give you an in-person run-down on all the gear in store as well
I find varivas line memory isn’t the best
