Yes Alvarez did save them in the first episode. But you gotta remember before he showed up they all came out to face the firing squad in support of EZ.
So not only does Marcus work with Jax to create a decade long truce that only got broken recently because of Santo Padre, but he also makes Bishop a president of one of the most important chapters of the club as it's the front of the drug pipeline. Then Santo Padre also turns against the other two kings out of greed creating the civil war which Marcus bails them out, and acts as a Mediator which prevents the other chapters from tearing them apart. Then S.P cause death of literally 2 sons members (Montez and his cousin), and kill the V.M which literally shits them out of the gun trade, which in turn breaks out into the war again. Not to mention Santo Padre probably have killed more of their own than any of the other chapters combined. (Chepe + Flaco, Gaeda, Riz, Ramos, Canche and however many goons got killed during E1). And in the end, after everything Alvarez did, he runs as President in S.P, and gives EZ his promotion to his trusted V.P, only for them to vote him out. Literally all of this could've been prevented if Santo Padre literally wasn't a chapter. It was almost like all of the cues from the various Mayans made sense overall.
And manny, dondo and the fat bald Mayan from Oakland getting killed… with many key Mayans getting killed it’s the beginning of the end and Ez is turning into Tony Scarface Montana with his ego and power hunger
It's clear Kurt Sutter isn't involved with the direction of how this episode and season is going...smdh. Santo Padre should be more grateful and loyal to Alvarez being that he saved their ass from Canche.
When I saw S3 without Kurt, I assumed it was good not having his overall Cheese you saw in SOA or S1+S2 of Mayans. But seeing S4. I take that back. It sucks.
thats messed up how they did Alvarez after he saved the whole charter from being executed earlier in the season. talk about "but what have you done for me lately". how ungrateful they all are, they all owe their lives to Alvarez or canche would've executed them all at their clubhouse
This scene really bothers me because we barely see Alvarez call the shots as President of Santo Padre, Ez has become the devil through murder and chaos and Santo Padre membership is shorter than any other charter. This scene is gonna be either the rebirth or downfall of the Mayans.
Honestly Alverez needs to just go back to Oakland an get the other characters to be completely separate from Ez's charter and then tell SoA they can kill them all to keep the peace.
They definitely are not as fun as SOA’s B plots. I know it’s a drama, but doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun or show some lighthearted moments in between the nitty and gritty.
I’ve seen a lot of comments on other videos about how EZ’s plans always go bad. Does that mean under his leadership the whole charter is going to go under?
They wanted to make ez a jax but only in 3 episodes wich made strange and unnatural. Besides the new showrunners stated they want something diferent then SOA but they keep bringing back nostalgic mementos like the "clay" shooting ez on the bike or the mayans "killing jax" in other episode promo. And for my final opinion, this season was to dragged, 10 episodes was short but it could happened everything in maybe 7 episodes, like come on, emilly in this season was complete pointless or gilly sideplot came to no conclusion, for example.
Exactly man, this season felt like a fucking anime with filler episodes and shit. No show in this world was this slow in terms of progression. I hope the next season will focus entirely on the war

Hold up. Did or did not Alvarez save ALL those guys in that room in episode 1 of this season. They were all about to be executed.
Good fkn point
Yes he did…. I think season 5 might be the fall of Santo padre
The fall of the Mayans.
Exactly. And somehow writer just decided "Episode 2 doesn't exist" 🤦🤦🤦
Everything started to fall apart the first time Alvarez left the club
What bothers me about this scene is that Alvarez never got to speak about Montez......i guess Taza will play an important role later on.

Too late all the charters want war they killed a Vice President buy burning him alive and killed a few presidents
Maybe in the future this will actually happen…
Perhaps the series will end like this….
They can’t kill off nestor
Idk if I’m the only one but the side stories in this show are pretty trash imo 😂 I would prefer it if it was just club stuff
Writing has gotten super cheesy since they fired Kurt Sutter
I dont think the side stories are bad I just think they over did it. Every episodes spends more than half the time on random shit.
