Today I wanted to touch on some ways I will be celebrating Lammas and Lughnasadh this year and how you might want to celebrate this beautiful season for yourself.
    Altar Items:
Oats - To associate with the season, they will be used in a ritual at the end of the Lammas season
Art - Created to represent the harvest, even when I can't see it personally
God Statue - To represent my God Cernunnos
Tiger Iron Sphere - Stability and grounding connection
House Doll - My home protection doll
Candle - Tobacco Flower and Cedar (It smells like Starchild which is why I chose it)
Abundance Card - From the Living Altar Oracle Deck
Lugh Card - From the Pagan Spirit Deck (discontinued)
Clear Quartz and Tiger Eye - For amplification of the abundant energies
Chalice and Mead - An offering to Lugh and the season

That's the first time I'm celebrating Lammas. I made a corn dolly dressed in ribbons and a wreath. I'm gonna bake my favourite cinnamon rolls and take care of my urban vegetable garden 🍅 blessed Lammas/Lughnasadh to everyone!

Every Sabbat I make note of what's changing in the natural landscape. My yard is filled with fireweed, so I'm going to make some fireweed jelly, and hopefully some cornbread to eat with it. :) I also like to bless a candle that I light for an hour or so in the evenings while I read or journal.

yayyy this is so exciting! its my first year after moving into a 211 year old stone cottage... i have a massive vegetable garden now and im feeling immensely blessed in spite of the amount of work this kind of land/cottage brings 🥰
I harvested all of my beets and carrots about 4 days ago, and i have too many and have been sharing them :p i need to learn how to jar vegetables 😅 its so awesome how the beggining of harvest for me landed right around where the holiday for it shows up 🌾
love your videos, im seasoned, but i enjoy your channel because it reminds me to go back to some things that i haven't touched upon in a while, or for a sprinkle of inspiration to go sit a bit longer in my altar room 💛
    thanks for being you :)

I have a yummy pickled carrot recipe! It sounds odd but it's good. It's nice because you keep it in the fridge vs actually canning with pressure (something I need to learn as well) I can share it with you if you're interested :D

Check out kilner jars, it's a good way to preserve fruit for a long time, especially if you don't have enough fridge or freezer space, and I reckon it will work for sauces and vegetables too if prepared in a certain way (obviously depends on the veg)

I'm fairly new to witchcraft in general (off and on for about a year or so now) so I love how you frame your sabbat videos with broom closeted witches and/or beginners in mind. This year I'll be celebrating Lughnasadh with a small altar, baking cornbread, and (weather permitting) a walk in the park.

I do mini candle alters for the sabbats. I use a colored taper candle and surround it with dried flowers on a little round wooden alter. I let it burn down to the socket and leave it there until I prepare for the next Sabbat.

I don't really celebrate Lammas or Lughnassadh, but August 1st is an important day for me (I started a new chapter of my life on that day), so I usually try to do some fun things. I'm trying to find a few "me" things that overlap with harvest time things to do that day and possibly marry the two. Right now, I'm leaning toward baking bread, going for a bike ride in the park, and dancing around my house. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions! 👍

Perhaps a bit oddly I always incorporated my Lammas practice with end of summer things I would do to prepare my children to get back to school. I do a ton of baking with back to school breakfasts in mind all made with love and intention for a great day at school but also bulk up supply for winter months. I make a ton of elderberry syrup and cherry bark cough syrup and my thieves oil in order to have our winter supply ready once the colder months arrive. My fig tree, raspberry and blueberry bushes are all at their peak so jelly jams and syrups seem to always be bubbling in the cauldron and as the cooler nights approach I will burn peat which always immediately brings me back to cool, soggy evenings spent in the Irish countryside! It is my favorite time of year and although for some spring and summer is the most productive time of year, I find that coming into autumn is where I flourish.

Then we will have a Lammas fire to sacrifice the corn dolly I made last Lammas. And bless the newly made corn dolly too. I am so grateful to be able to celebrate Lammas with loved ones! Enjoy your celebrations, you all!

I love setting up altars for each Sabbat for the same reason, Hearth! I live in Los Angeles, famously known for its mild weather and lack of seasons (there are seasons, but you have to really, really pay close attention to notice). Changing the altar is the way I connect to nature and really do notice the changes, even if they're minimal. Happy Lughnasadh everyone! 🌄🌻😎

Terrific information, Hearth! I am currently living in an apartment, but am lucky to have a nearby farmers market and I live on Lake Superior, so nature is all around me. I plan to shop the market on Saturday and get out in a wilderness area on Sunday. And of course, a new altar is in the works! Blessed Lammas to you, dear Hearth, and to the rest of this lovely community!

I tend my family and friends altar more than any other. So I've started placing seasonal plants on it and cleaning it off each Sabbat. For me it's a nice way to remember them and mark the seasonal changes.

1st of August ist actually the national day in Switzerland. Even though most people don't know about the sabbats, I think there's no other day when more Swiss people are outside, having BBQs, enjoy the weather, sit around campfires and look at the fireworks in the evening.
At the same time it always makes me melancolic, because it really is the beginning of the end of summer and I'm not a big fan of the cold and the dark in winter.

Great video and beautiful altar! It's interesting how your style of decorating altars has shifted over the past few years. I like the homey, woodsy feeling. It's much simpler yet just as powerful as the altars from previous years.
Today, watching this video inspired me to change into the colors of Lammas (I'm wearing beige pants, a red shirt, white sneakers with a streak of gold, and golden Swarovski earrings that remind me of the sun and moon). Now I think I'm going to go out and enjoy the sunshine and maybe make an offering of bread to the earth. I know it's not quite Lammas yet, but I'm definitely feeling the Lammas mood and there's no guarantee that I'll be in a similar mood on the actual day.

Great video! Depending on the day and how busy I am, I sometimes have to keep it short. I’m getting a procedure on Lammas this year so the day before I’m going to try my hand at making a lemon lavender cake with lavender from my garden. I’ll share that with my family over a cup of tea. And the day after, I’ll redo my altar after giving it a good cleanse.

When I was in elementary school there was a honeysuckle plant growing along the fence around the school's outdoor recess area right next to the track that we were required to walk before we could go to the playscape.
I have no recollection of HOW I knew that the plant was honeysuckle, nor that it was safe to suck the nectar out when I was THAT little, but I taught my friends to pluck the flowers, pull off the little green tab at the bottom of it and suck out the sweet liquid.
I was really sad when my mom took me back to the school playground on a weekend when I was in middle school and the honeysuckle plant was gone.

Dedicated myself to a lot of reading. As you know I have many questions, none of which I'm going to bore you with, except one. As I said. I'm just a beginner and don't know poop about the Wheel of the Year or any of the Sabbats. The only holiday that still holds any magic for me is Halloween/Samhain. So is it required to celebrate all the holidays or can we skip some? Thank you so much for your channel. I really enjoy and look forward to further content.
