I normally have doubts about a lot of these cars and their power figures. I have zero doubt that A3 is running nearly 800bhp, absolutely rapid.

Impressive for a VR6. Learned to respect these engines in a 84 Passat wagon(quad headlights) naturally aspirated specimen. It pulled after 130mph and kept going. It’s unique engine design always intrigued since I first seen in the states

Although technjcally a VR6, true VAG enthusiasts will say the VR6 is only 12v not 24v and thats an R32 engine... eitherway, banging cars once again. Hats off to both builds 🤘🏻

A3 sounds insanely good, as expected from a VR6. Shame it had issues. Ran great against a more powerful car already.

@@sjm.photos they’re a stable platform and don’t need the wing for stability, maybe at high speeds a splitter, diffuser and possibly canards will help but a spoiler not really. I’m talking from experience with a similar spec A3 3.2T
@@Mr_OoOsH ah ok my rcz has a rear wing that comes up for stability at 56 and then 92 to stage to but then drops back down over 131mph as its rear window comes into play
@@Mr_OoOsH i only say that because my rcz has a 2 stage wing that deploys at 56 and again at 96mph but goes down completely at over 132mph when the rear window comes into play
@@sjm.photoscan you turn it off completely? I’m only asking as it would be fun for you to see if you can tell a difference with and without the spoiler, a spoiler is going to generate downforce it won’t act upon lateral stability.
If these cars are really 250hp in power difference, that A3 is very impressive.
Making a build like that to keep with a 1000+ tt R8 is very impressive considering its only their 3rd keep up the good work lads get it fixed let's see it shift off the line like the S1 quattro used to
That was an amazing race verry unfortunate for the A3 but daaaammmmnnnn if that thing was running right I think it would have been close. Props to both cars

R8’s mad… 0-60 in 2.5 that solo run, but nothing taken away from that A3, the fact that an A3 can keep up with a twin-turbo R8 is astounding.

Minus the wing and perhaps the wheels and the A3 is a doooozy of a sleeper, no slight to its stock form of course. R8 is a dream, but love anyone keeping the performance aspect of the vr6 alive. I'd love to see a company take hold of the 12v vr6 and modernize its reliable simplicity in a manner such as HPA has the 3.2 and new 2.5 vr6.

Great content as usual interesting to see even R8 with slightly more power are a little slower than the 911 Turbo’s probably due to how good the PDK transmission is compared to Audi R8 dual clutch. Roberto’s Audi RS3 must of been upgraded to achieve the crazy draggy times!! Still all really, really nice cars.
r8 is heavier than 911 turbo + porsche has got better traction from the dig due to engine placement.
Those 911 turbos are automotive wizardry

Still feel the r8 would have one but that is only because it is an absolute weapon and a supercar, hats off to the lads at devil development as that A3 Still held its own to say it was meant to be heavily out gunned. 2 wicked cars 2 wicked drivers
I don't think it was Devil Developments who built or mapped the A3, it was Dark Road Performance
The car did go to devil developments for mapping on the dyno but due to time restraint before the race and at no fault of theres it could not be completed on the day.
We then mapped it ourselves over the course of two nights and the morning of the race. Refined the fueling and timing. boost by gear, setup launch control, rolling launch, correctly setup knock protection and improved the overall drivability.
