Hi! Just found your video thanks to UA-cam's algorithm. So enjoyed and appreciated your thoroughness, tips and tricks. I'll definitely be checking out the Ravelry bundle! Hitting the subscribe button! ❤
Wow - another fantastic bundle of knitting patterns! Thank you for sharing the bounty of your time spent on Ravelry - very much appreciated. Good luck picking one of those for your road trip knitting - they were great!
@@alovelyyarn Also, enjoy your summer trip! I hope we get to see footage of your destination ☺️ (and what project you ended up working on during your travels)
Fabulous selection of patterns! My road/train trip will be to the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival next month. A dual trip…knitting and visiting my son. Decided I will choose one of the patterns for the trip there and one for the way back. Thank you for taking the time to do this! 😊
I realized part way through that I'd already watched this, but I needEd to refresh my memory😂. We're preparing to drive from Virginia to Utah for our oldest daughter's college graduation, and I have ideas now for car knitting! Thank you! I'm only maybe 3 feet into my hubby's Dr. Who (Tom Baker) scarf. Mittens for my neighbor in her favorite color - because she's awesome (we watch each other's houses when the other travels). If those don't keep me busy, a pair of banana socks, or a hair accessory!
Thank you so much for doing the research and making these notes. I'm a middle of the road knitter, doing a lot for charity or my sister who lives in Washington State, so these will help to stretch my skills. I'm cleaning up my very lengthy UA-cam subbie list and ran across you today and was so glad I did. I'm going to be watching your podcasts more often! I love your quiet demeanor and your easygoing style. So many of the gals are just too "much", if you know what I mean. I'll be back! And thank you again, so much!❤❤❤❤
An absolutely great curation of free and relatively easy patterns. Thank you. I did finish my Summer Camp Kerchief and did a couple of rows of eyelets toward the end and edged the blue color in a lime green ribbing, primarily because I ran out of yarn, but also it set the scarf off. It blocked easily and dried within a day of washing it. It was a fun and rewarding knit so again, thank you. I am thinking the Sari Nordlund shawl would be a good one since I have a lot of DK. My go to garter, 2 skein dk shawl is the Be Simple shawl and it is an asymmetrical triangular shawl and wraps around the neck well and stays in place and the pattern is free on Ravelry. I have knit so many that a slightly different and bigger version of a garter shawl will be nice.
Hello Josephine! I'm so glad you liked the kerchief! I love the idea of edging it with a contrast color. I have looked at the Be Simple Shawl in the past and think I might have included it in one of my past knit list podcast episodes. Thank you so much for watching and saying hello!
Thank you for all these great ideas! At the yarn shop I work at they sell nylon that you can knit with your non nylon yarn in the high traffic areas like toes and heels. FYI!
I am new to your podcast but so thankful found you! This is an amazing list of small road trip knits. Thank you for doing all of this hard work for us!
I might not be going on any road trips but I am a very slow knitter so if I don’t choose small projects I’ll never get them done. Thank you for this compilation.
Yes! I am pretty sure I included that one in the bundle, just not here since it's not a free pattern. I really want to knit that one. I've had it in my favorites folder for a while. Thank you for watxhing, Paula!
Thank you Amber for all the suggestions! I’m leaving on a trip to Prince Edward Island, so that’s a lot of car knitting! I need to start planning on bringing simple projects and there’s a few you mentioned that im really drawn to☺️. Enjoy your trip to the mountains!
Amber!!! Such great road trip patterns!! I have some of these in my favs,,,,and have knit some as well,,,,Will be adding the other ones to my favs,, Thanks so much!!! So portable!!!and fun,,,, Thanks so much,,, ElaineXoxo 🏡🏡💖
Tin Can Knits also has an App that comes with 9 of their free patterns. You can create a project with your specific yarn & it presents the pattern with the specifics of what you are making. Worth checking out & the kittens you mentioned are one of the nine patterns.
Thank you for the great info. I have a number of Kari shawls and it is a fabulous wear as it is not fully triangle so it sits well. Great pattern….highly recommend.
Thank you for putting this bundle together - great ideas! My road trip knitting this year is a fingering weight Sophie shawl. I think I'll try the Petty Harbour socks for a lovely solid blue sock yarn that I received as a birthday gift!
Amber, thank you for being so generous in researching all of the patterns and bringing your findings to us. It is fun to see all that you come up with and the inspiration extended to everyone. Thank you so much.
My Ravelry list just got longer! Thank you Amber. A free sock pattern which I often take as my travel knitting is The Impossible Girl Sock. It’s super cute with an easy faux cable detail.
Haha! Oops! Glad you found some new patterns! I will most definitely look up that sock pattern. I've been feeling really inspired to make socks lately!
Miss Amber, your videos are always such a pleasant surprise! I feel like it's too hot for me to make anything with wool right now, but I'm struggling through my first crocheted acrylic shrug based on a 1940s pattern, so it should be ready for my first fall chill. I can't wait for cooler weather! Thanks Amber 🌻
I'm always looking for something small(ish) & quick to do!! I actually had a couple in my library already!! Thanks for the list! I've made TWO dotted rays!! I use stitch markers so I don't have to count! (& I rarely make anything twice).
You're the second person to recommend that one! I've had it saved to my favorites folder for a while. Maybe it's time to cast it on! Thanks for watching, Patti!
Love the free pattern lists, thank you. I like to be able to try a freebie from a designer i'm not familiar with .before I buy . I can determine if the language used is making sense (to me) and not confusing (to me).
Thank you for an amazing road trip list! I shall definitely be using some of these. I have a long coach trip from the south west of England to London to see my children and I found the Bear Lights Shawl by Joanne Bint. It’s also free on Ravelry and looked mindless and could shrink or grow depending on the length of my handspun, which is great xxx
Such a good list! I really like the look of the ‘An Italian Summer Scarf’ I could absolutely see myself knitting one. I also really love garter! It’s just so squishy and fun to knit. 😊
This was such a fun video! You are nudging me more and more to try a crescent shaped shawl 😆 I’ve only ever tried triangle. And thank you so much for sharing the yarn sub site! I had no idea something like that existed - what a great resource. I hope you have a wonderful time traveling!
Another stellar episode! I refer back to the one you did on shawls all the time. Thanks for creating the project list in Ravelry. Now my Favorites are studded with “a favorite of Amber’s” notations. 😊
