- Back to the button forest, where amid loads of buttons, there are some other great German WW2 relics as well. Within minutes my friend Jeff found a rare German wartime Cavalry medal.
Although we have been back here several times, some great World War II treasures and gems still pop up. Golden buttons, trench art rings, uniform pieces and more. So buckle in and enjoy the ride!
Last time we were at this spot, we found a pit filled with WW2 relics. If you haven't seen that yet, go check it out:
• We dug out a pit fille...

FAQ:
-Do you report things found to the authorities?
Yes, all nasty things found like UXO's and finds that could be important from an archaeology perspective are reported to the local authorities.
-Do you sell finds?
I am a collector myself so I hardly sell relics. But if I do then I'll post it on the social media pages or think about becoming a Patron, because I'll share finds with my Patrons (check out the Patreon website for details).
-How do you gain permission for metal detecting?
Check out local laws regarding metal detecting and get permission from the landowner. Or hook up with a local metal detecting club in the area you would like to detect and get your information from them. (I stopped responding to questions like this all together, I'm not google..)
-Can I come with you?
No.
-Will you marry me?
No, lets just be friends.
-I want to see more!
Go check out the social media pages, or consider becoming a Patron! Patrons have access to much more, special videos, behind the scenes footage and WW2 goodie boxes containing relics me and my friends found over the years.
-What metal detector do you use?
The Garrett Ace Apex with a bigger coil or the Garrett AT Max.
-Camera?
Go Pro 7, Go Pro 10 and a Sony handy cam
-What is on your bucket list?
Hitler's lost gold or the missing gold train everybody is searching for. But until then I am happy with whatever pops up, I even enjoy finding landmines... :-s

oi oi Iron Mike back again. And that intro was 🔥🔥
LOL that intro was some massive beginners editing. But glad you liked it. :)
It should be made clear that the German horseman's badge is a civilian award with no direct connection to the military or cavalry arm. That being said it, as with many other civilian awards, could be worn on military uniforms.
Nice shirt 👍 Always enjoy your videos Mike
I need to get back over there and do some detecting with you. My wife doesn't want to go back after what happened last time, but she didn't say anything about me 😂
Brilliant finds Mike. Great seeing another video of you and the guys.

Hi Mike
Really enjoyable video, one day your find that gold pile
Cheers
hey Martin, If we search long enough we will. It's all a matter of statistics.
I just subscribed after seeing you on the Garrett interview. The WW2 artifacts you find are so interesting! Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos!
I love your video’s ❣️You explain everything so well. I know this video is old but the hooks remind me of pleated drapery hooks😂
Hi Susan, thank you for your kind words! Don't worry about the video being old, I still read the comments. And yes, they do kinda look like curtain hooks! :)
Thank you for such interesting videos ! Love seeing WW2 artifacts as it is A piece of my German heritage as well.
Hi Glen, for for coming by and your comment. Appreciate it.
Never seen so many buttons. I like the ID pouch & the trench art ring, great finds.
Almost 3 kilo (6.6 pounds) of buttons in two days (between the three of us). And after a while I stopped digging the zinc ones all together.
Thanks for coming by!
I love History Underground
I'm the 1.1K like on this video and i'm glad i am these videos are really cool and you seem like a nice guy as well.
Always nice to see something from you! Stay healthy!
Thanks for dropping by and supporting the channel for over two years. Appreciate it.
The anchor button is from the Kriegsmarine field grey uniform, possibly marine artillerie, which included both coastal and marine flak, but could equally belong to a wide range of KM unit types which used the field grey uniform.
yes
Amazing video Mike :)
Thank for dropping in again. Appreciate it as always :)
I'm curious, did the luftwaffe have a calvary unit? Would be interesting to know if they did.
Great finds... Great video..
Me gusta mucho tu programa saludos desde guatemala centro america
I forgot to tell you how awesome that trench art brush is!!
Hi Mary, that is a fun piece. Never found is before and wondering what it was used for. Bit small for a shaving brush.
Was this the button Forrest you revisited? The POW camp? When are you gonna make it back to the Ardennes Forest?
Hi Greg, yes it was! Don't have any plans to visit the Ardennes but maybe we'll go back there one day.
In my opinion the brush was the best find on day 1 ...it is unique, personal and not mass produced..
Buttons , Buttons everywhere!
Actually dreamed of buttons the night after.
when will you finally get a decdent camera dude? thx for the videos
Forest big potential , greetings from Poland
it sure is! Thanks for your comment.
Good to have you back bro. Hope the universe is smiling on you. Why so many buttons in one place?
Was out yesterday and the Universe didnt give me shit.. lol
(I just show the good finds, not the days I struggle without finding anything)
But thanks buddy, appreciate your comment.
Why so many buttons, we believe this was a place of surrender or POW camp or some sort of transit area.
Great findings Mike. Have a question regarding the one coin you find. Was it an øre? Can you tell if it’s a danish one.??
Greetings from another digger from denmark 💪💪 /Mike
It was a Norwegian Ore. Thanks for dropping by and good luck out there!
You guys are so cute. Like little boys. 😊. I understand, I love to find history as well but I’m in the States so we don’t find anything WWII unfortunately.
LOL I'll be sure to pass on your comment to René. That's probably the first time someone called him cute...
There probably something of value stashed somewhere in Europe from WW2,Hitler gold no I doubt, but I did read about people digging up Graves and finding rare guns ceremonial daggers and other stuff..,that is just as interesting
Amazing finds, ALLOT amazing finds👌🏻
As always. thanks for watching and your comment.
There isnt a video going by without you commenting here. Appreciate it :)
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting No problem, im a big fan ;)
Nice finds!
Thanks Jim!
Hey mike!hope you are well.we ve been missing you!
hey John, have been catching some rays and spending time with the family last few weeks. More videos to come, don't you worry ;)
Thanks for dropping by again
I met a WW2 vet that had an actual German Mess kit with the fork spoon inside. I wish I could have bought it. This was like in 88
Too bad you couldn't. But I'll bet just meeting with him and listening to his stories was a big gift on it's own.
Mooie vondsten weer !
bedankt! :)
Goede video's ook van The History Underground, net als die van jou! Ik geniet altijd met volle teugen van jullie video's! ❤️
Bedankt voor je view en je aardige bericht Michael! Geeft motivatie om door te gaan :)

A+, Thank you for Texas
Any time Jeff!
Fantastico
Hi, I still find it nice, please, what coil do you have on the apex and do you go in the forest on mf or on a single frequency?
Hi Jaroslav, I usually use the AT Max. Also have the Apex and use the Standard coil that came with. I have it on MF.
Das ist ein Reitabzeichen das gibt es heute noch allerdings ohne den Buchstaben R dieses gibt es in bronze Gold und Silber und wahrscheinlich war dieser Soldat ein Springreiter.
So how much do you make for selling all this stuff that you dig up desecrating Graves
How do you get permission to dig in these areas?
By asking the landowner (usually it takes one or two cases of beer)
mooie vond een spring medaie groetjes van de Veluwe
I've watched a few of your videos, but never again. I loath the kind of people who have to badmouth and humiliate their friends co-workers to elevate themselves.
LOL
As usual a good video mike 🤘🤘 thise kriegsmarine buttons are so nice to find, and two rings 😉😎😎
Thanks buddy👍
Will be seeing you soon. Can't wait to set foot again in beautiful Norway.
Have you ever found a Totenkopf ring?
Not yet, but that is on my wishlist
👍👍
Holy smoly!buttt/onz
When you find human remains or soldier tags do report it so that the government can return them to families?
yes, if we would find remains we would stop digging immediately and notify the authorities.
Why were there so many buttons in that location?
We believe this was a place of surrender or POW camp or some sort of transit area
Hello Sir. I lost a pocket full of gold there somewhere. If you find it could you mail it to me.🤣
You had one hell of a big pocket!
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting no it was a tiny amount ina smaller pocket
👏👏👏💪💪

Helloo turkey;)
Assmann, Aßmann or Assman is a German surname. Notable people with the surname include a alleged KGB intelligence officer.
The name has nothing to do with the English word ass.

Great content as usual Mike!
Glad you enjoyed it Thomas!
