I don't get that. I'm not saying your wrong, im genuinely curious. But, why is anyone supposed to care what day your born on. It does kind of suck if someone like a parent/family member forgets or doesnt care, but other than that. Why should someone care?
@deenad3562 my closest friends are like a second family to me, and we have to ask what day our birthdays are every year. But when it's a spouse or partner, it just depends on how things were discussed before hand. If I tell my partner that I don't really care about birthdays and I don't celebrate mine, then I don't expect them to do anything for me. But if I wanted to celebrate my birthday, then it would really suck if my partner proceeded to not care.
I've forgotten about my own birthday once. I was all in "let's get to school"-mood and was so confused about my family being all smiley in the morning. Since we're a pretty funny family, they thought I was joking and only got that I was serious when I was halfway out the door. 🤣🤣

Yeah it do be like that, but for me it only happened once, because the resentment built up and exploded like 9 months later. And when you're the one that does everything without complaint, blowing up is quite effective, aside from a few annoying side effects.
I shared a birthday with this boy in my class. When the day rolled around, you'd see everybody crowding around him, wishing him a happy birthday but not even my friends would remember mine. It always made me feel really left out, and now I have social anxiety and no friends 😂😂😭
That was immature and thoughtless of them. You deserve to have friends that love and prioritize you as you would them. I've seen some extraverted people mention it's their birthday in conversation to avoid that bad situation, but that is in no way an obligation on the birthday person's end just a way I've seen it handled before.

Outside of my parents, I had 4 people remember my 18th birthday. I was already having a sh*++y day, had to serve lunch detention on my birthday because the school wanted to be an a$$h*le the day before and write me up for walking in literally as the first bell rang, and my friends were dropping like flies. Not dying, but moving away or just not talking to me anymore. Made me at least happy to have no friends on the bus so I could cry in peace on the way home.

So last year my birthday wasn’t “Forgotten” But that day, instead of waking up to a hug as usual on my bday, I woke up to screams. My dad had seizures bcuz of Covid and was taken to the hospital. I was in isolation the whole day (and for a month after that) cuz I was the only one in my house who was well. I was on a call with my friends, which made my day slightly better. I cut my cake with my mom standing with the camera faced on my cake and me far away from me. And when she gave me my gift the next day, I had to sit far away and as much as I wanted to hug her I couldn’t. So it was just a really really bad birthday. 😢

Kind of lol, it's custom in my class to wish a person happy birthday during form time (we have a list with everyone's name on it). All my classmates ones forgot about my birthday(well, I can't blame them. It was our first year in a selective school, so everyone was new to each other). But I planed to treat them to candy in any case. So after everyone including a literature theacher got a sweet, I receved a ton of nice congratulations.

Me who has never celebrated a birthday in my 20 year life. Key to having a good birthday is to have no expectations.
I’m fortunate that I have my mom and she always remembers.
Yeah I invited some kids I played football with and none of them showed up and later that day I was hanging out with my friends and we saw them playing basketball in one of their front yards. Learned who my real friends were that day.
For the last 3 years I've forgotten my own birthday. I have been busy taking care of everyone else. This year I took myself to a park and just sat and did absolutely nothing except look at the beautiful scenery. Best day ever. 💓

Back when I was an elementary student years ago. My family was having a birthday for me and invited lots of people. That night when it was time for my birthday, no one had shown up. After that day my family decided no more parties and that we would celebrate differently.

So last year my birthday wasn’t “Forgotten”
But that day, instead of waking up to a hug as usual on my bday, I woke up to screams. My dad had seizures bcuz of Covid and was taken to the hospital. I was in isolation the whole day (and for a month after that) cuz I was the only one in my house who was well.
I was on a call with my friends, which made my day slightly better.
I cut my cake with my mom standing with the camera faced on my cake and me far away from me. And when she gave me my gift the next day, I had to sit far away and as much as I wanted to hug her I couldn’t.
So it was just a really really bad birthday. 😢

Kind of lol, it's custom in my class to wish a person happy birthday during form time (we have a list with everyone's name on it). When it came to my birthday, my class simply forgot and didn't do it for me lol.
But a girl who I became friends with got me a nicely wrapped gift, it rlly made my day. Her birthday was 6 days after mine, so I got her something too ^^ (they didn't sing for her either, so yh)

I remember this one time that my family completely forgot about my birthday it was my seventh birthday I ended up crying myself to sleep
All my classmates ones forgot about my birthday(well, I can't blame them. It was our first year in a selective school, so everyone was new to each other). But I planed to treat them to candy in any case. So after everyone including a literature theacher got a sweet, I receved a ton of nice congratulations.
😂😂 the last time my family put a birthday on for me was when I was 8 years old.. I'm 28 now and I watch everyone else's birthday getting put on. I'm so use to it now I laugh instead of crying 😂😂😂
