Bruce Wayne: "I'm retired"
Lucius Fox: *I'm about to restart this man's whole career*
Nice twist! Haven‘t seen this one before.
Yeah right before bane broke his back
That's pretty good
ROFL
Ugh, can this meme please die? It was never funny.
Bruce Wayne: Does it come in Black?
Lucius: Yes Mr. Wayne.
Bruce Wayne: But does it have a cup holder?
Lucius: Now that's more like it Mr. Wayne.
Sounds like Doug De muro
No does it come with trending DRLs
Definitely needs a cup holder for the BatMug, doncha know.
Bruce: then give me 5000
😂😂🔥
It's a good thing Lucius isn't his dealer.
"I got some new merchandise, wanna hit?"
"Naw, I don't do that stuff anymore, man."
"C'monnn, for old time's sake."
It was a joke you dumb fuck.
MrCatface3
Where in this thread does it say anything that warranted your response.
+Shanethefilmmaker Well... you were being pretty dumb to an obvious and good joke making it less funny so...Kinda had that coming
What kind of fuckwit question is that?
Congratulations, you're an idiot.
He's not dealing, either. Bruce Wayne owns Wayne Enterprises...
Castigng Morgan Freeman as Lucius was genius!
@Surya Singh What are you talkiging about?
@@randyqquaint8400 you said castigng instead of casting
@@Luka2000_ Why are you tryiging to point this out, exactly?
@@randyqquaint8400 why not its the internet
No, it wasn't genius, it was Lucius (a whole new level)! XD
Alfred is the stiff dad that tries to keep you out trouble. Dropping all kinds of wisdom and disapproving glances.
Lucius is the cool uncle that knows that you are going to get into trouble anyway. He let's you shoot guns or drink at his place.
godspeedelijah Exactamundo.
You sure you ain't talking 'bout Mile Morales here?!
A dad that objects to his son shooting guns is a pussy.
@@tacticalcrusader3709 Maybe he's trying to keep you out of prison
@@Jampolo_OG why would someone go to prison for just shooting guns? I shot guns at the range this past weekend and I'm not in prison. You hoplophobes are so fucking irrational its ridiculous.

Oh u bastard😂😂
@Ethan i just did it because it had to be done🙂
Lol u make me laugh hard even after 6 years of this being posted, i hope ure fine my dude
Oh My God, forgive me for laughing! :(
Bruce: WHOOOAAAWWWWW NO FUCKING WAY BRO THATS INSAAAANNNNEEEEEEEE
There are many Batman adaptations that don't have Fox, or only have him for one story, but he was a huge part of the Dark Knight trilogy!
Asa Holmes who wouldn't?? That thing looks awesome
Michael Caine : best Alfred forever.
Morgan Freeman : will always be the best Lucius Fox.
Christian Bale : will always be better than Shitfleck, and the best Bat ever.
Nolan trilogy : will never be surpassed, beated, or dethroned.
All Shitflecks fanboys : will always be angry and hateful of facing it. :)
Period.
+AlexisOut Bibi sure , you can hype up Bale , no need to down talk Affleck .
@@99sasanka Batfleck was the best, the most comic book accurate Batman and Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale is the best representation of what a real-life Batman would be like.
The novelizations touched on Fox's thoughts, showed that he enjoyed the thought of being the one who unofficially armed the Batman.
You could tell Bruce wanted to become Batman ASAP as soon as he saw the bat
Lolman 96 massive boner for that one
as soon as possible as soon
Fox knew that as well, with his quick response, or rather addition "and yes, it does come in black".
I would have flown it home immediately

I see what you did there Nolan.
what did he do
@@velectro8963 when bane shows off the armory later after defeating Batman and right before breaking his back, bane blows demo charges on the ceiling and it's revealed that they were fighting under Wayne Enterprises the whole time, and one of the bat tumblers literally falls from the floor above

Yes, this movie had some nice callbacks to _Batman Begins_ like that. Just enough, I think.
I bet Lucious figured out what Bruce was doing about the second or third strange request.

@@ascher6938 ans yes mr. Ascher you do copy.
I liked how The Batmobile, Bat Pod and The Bat all had a natural progression in being introduced. He upgraded the Tumbler to be remote control because of him needingGorden to drive it in Begins. He likely started work on The Bat because of the situation he dealt with in Hong Kong trying to grabbed Lau. While the Batpod was simply a extension of the Tumbler. He only made these devices because he NEEDED them and because he learned from previous encounters. They weren't just for the hell of it.
What a wonderful realization. Thank you sir. All these years and I haven't thought of it that way.
At least that explains why he didn’t get a 2nd Tumbler, I always wondered why he never got a new one
I knew the rest but never realised the Bat would've been so handy in kidnapping Lau from China instead of sky hook because it was delayed and risky
Because Tony Stark learns from his mistakes.

Yes, actually. O_o
Lucius: Not really....he hasn't tried to visit other planets or moons yet.
@@nvm183 If the scarecrow comes back..he might
@@nvm183 Not going to the moon. But might be useful as a "shortcut" to go to the other side of the planet quickly. Happened in the comics during Grant Morrison's run where Damian Wayne was introduced. It was kinda weird. But it made sense as comic books logic goes.
*After Reese leaves*
“… you know, that’s actually not a bad idea.”
A rocketship so that he can deploy the justice league watchtower. That would be hella cool but since it would require a lot of CGI, it would actually look terrible.
When you think you're retired, but God has other plans for you.
Bruce almighty flashbacks lol
Ah, cheeky.
Best comment of my day!!!
AMAN!!!!!
I see what you did there….
I love this relationship they have where they aren't straightforward that he's batman.. fox keeps leaving hints in his words almost pretending he doesn't know lol
Call back to begins. He told Bruce not to tell him what he is doing. But don’t treat him as an idiot. Fox technically has some plausible deniability.
He knows he’s Batman. He helped him out in Begins after Scarecrow poisoned him.
ua-cam.com/video/IRELLH86Edo/v-deo.html he knew in batman begins and the dark knight. Kind of impossible to use all that tech and not know lol
It's just how eloquent and expressive people talk lol. This usually happens when a person enjoys a good read. Needless to say, it's a lost art today.
That's even considering he literally talked to Bruce as Batman when they used the sonar thing to track Joker. The fact that he keeps the charade shows true commitment.
At least the Bat didn't fall into Bane's hands like the Tumblers did
There were only 2 bats, and Bruce had one, and they took quite a lot of skill to fly
no, he had both. Detail you only recognize when you think of the end over and over again.
He survived, because he let one of them fly with autopilot, into the explosion. Well he even could have had just one, for the end. But he certainly has hidden the 2. Bat.
Mr. Smith the bats don’t have autopilot he said when speaking to catwoman
@@jameshenderson3013 but at the end Lucius Fox finds out that Wayne has fixed the Autopilot. He just kept it secret.
Mr. Smith so he in fact was flying to another location, while the autopilot was controlling the other Bat with the bomb?
“These conversations used to end with unusual requests” haha awesome.
01:13 "Yes mr. wayne, it does come in black." makes me chill...lol
The theatre had a good laugh with me at that reference!
He protec
He attac
But most importantly it comes in blacc
its so weird and natural to see bruce/batman using cane to walk....that is so human and relatable
He's actually beyond lucky that a cane is all he has to deal with. That old saying that "whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger," is an outright lie: crippling injuries only weaken you. It was yet another touch of realism that Nolan injected into his trilogy that I liked.
I now realize that this is a reference to Batman Beyond when old Bruce was using a cane to walk
And a reference to his butler Michael Caine.
"Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is not a direct line of wisdom for physical strength. It can mean the mind as well. You fall for a trap laid by a villain, if you survive it then you can anticipate that trap next time. Therefore you have grown, and are stronger from the experience.
Well in TDK he jumped out a building to save people twice, there's no way that doesnt do damage to your joints
Bale will always be the ultimate batman ever!!!
Can't agree more
Agreed.
Agreed
i hated his batman voice though, and growing up in the 90s i will always be biased towards the kevin conroy batman even though he only did the voice.
And George Clooney is ugly bastard
After re watching begins.. Does anyone notice Lucius uses the same line Bruce's father tells him of wayne tower?
+Tyberious Foster
Good call, man
Tyberious Foster nice
i did actually- credit Nolan for consistency;
the wording is similar, but different though...
Bruce's dad told him he left running of Wayne Tower to more interested men
Lucius said more interested mind...
Captain's Quarters better men? Better mind?
Its not.
"Well let me show you some stuff anyway."
The delivery on that was so perfect.
Bane is beneath them the entire time!
What if fox was working with bane :0 ?! What if fox was a traitor ?!
qwe6348 doubt it, because the bat was a massive help (getting the bomb out of the city)

Great little throwaway line just noticed...”Takes a better mind to get the autopilot working”....literally what he used at the end to save the day...Nolan is a genius.
I wouldn't call it a throwaway line. That's some very on the nose intentional foreshadowing. It's not even trying to be subtle. Nolan's a genius film maker, sure, but this bit's not really all that impressive.
@@hiimchrisj It absolutely is subtle. You don't expect that to be important because *it's Batman* when has he ever cared about autopilot?
I love this scene. Lucius is not trying to make him Batman again (thought it would be alright if he did) he is trying to keep him active. Get him out of his depression and self-lothing.
every kid would love a grand father like Lucius.
Lucius: "And yes Mr.Wayne, it dose come in black."
I love that little call back to Batman Begins.
Just noticed something awesome in this scene. In the first movie Thomas Wayne said “ takes better men than me to run the company” to which Bruce replied “ Better men ?” Implying that for Bruce there’s no better man in the world than his father. Here Bruce says “Better mind ?” To fox meaning to him there’s no one smarter than Fox. Shows how much of a father figure Fox was to Bruce throughout the trilogy.
Their relationship in all 3 movies was so under appreciated. Bruce respected Fox and knew he needed him to become the best Batman possible.
0:14 hahaha am i the only one that loves/finds it funny how they just hold that focus on morgan as he's walking towards him with that grin on his face!?
It's not even that. Bruce Wayne is a genius. In the comic book versions he is one of the most intelligent people of his time. He could break and reprogram alien technology he saw for the first time in his life in less than 5 minutes. While in the movie Bruce is not nearly at this level of genius, he remains a very gifted and ultra-intellectual person. He built most of utility belts arsenal himself, taking only core mechanisms from Fox. He solved countless cases on his own, fixed bat's autopilot.
While the movies didn't embrace it, the Dark Detective did come into play in the Nolan trilogy.
Having no aliens in the trilogy makes it uncertain if he can do it or not.
New batman will have all these detective abilities....... :(
it's because that kind of batman can't exist in real life....but this one can....to a certain extend
Because in real life, no one can be expert on ninja combat, mechanical engineering, robot engineering, aero engineering, alien engineering, chemistry, biology and still got time to run a company.
Throughout the dark knight trilogy, batman had three constant allies that never gave up on him who were alfred pennyworth, commissioner jim gordan and lucius fox. While alfred provided bruce moral support, lucius helped batman keep up with the time by introducing new gadgets and jim gordan despite not knowing batman's identity for nearly the entire trilogy always stood up with batman on the field.
He didn't quit. He said that as long as this monster was in Wayne Enterprises he wouldn't work there but The Batman told he that that once he is finished he must type in his name.In the ending he does that which triggers the self destruct sequence.
I thought he doesnt want that thing allowed bruce to seen all kind of thing in wayne enterprises
"but Paul Allen has a nicer ship"
lets see paul allen's bat
But Bruce bought the Dorsia.
@@MTtanza You compliment was sufficient Mattia
Impressive. Very nice.
Look at it; that subtle off-black colouring. The tasteful thickness of it. My god. It even has a grappling hook.
that's exactly how my drug dealer greets me.
these conversations used to end in an unusual request
"for old times' sake!"
it have long boring clinical designated name, i call this pill.."The Bat".. your hit one off that..i will sent high as a sky can go....haha
Bruce Wayne as soon as he saw the Bat:
*Ah shit, here we go again.*
I love how Bruce questions Lucius's assertions that it would take a 'better' mind than his to fix the auto-pilot. It harks back to the start of Batman Begins when his dad said to him that he left the running of their company to 'better' men.
Three of the best castings I think in Film comic history. Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucius and Christian Bale as Batman. Shout out to Ledgers iconic Joker and Oldman as Gordon.
FYI, folk should listen to Michael Caines stories from when he was a soldier and his life. A movie icon, an ex soldier and an all round gentleman.
And liam neeson
"... the Bat. And yes mister Waynes, it does come in black."
Old good time.
"well, let me show you some stuff anyway" means "just give me a chance to flex"
Bruce: I'm retired
Lucius: *let me show you some stuff*
😂
I like this Batman, with no other heroes or metahumans of DC,only him and that's all
@0:14 the smirk on Lucius’s face because he’s probably been dying to show Bruce “the bat” 🤣
"I'm retired"
fox: "look, I have way too much fun coming up with gadgets for you to not use them"
I just took to call it the bat and yes Mr Wayne it does came in black. This dialogue feels goosebumps.
I like how Lucius had this "c'mon kiddo, you can't resist it :D" look on his face
Lucious Fox is the most intelligent character in Batman franchise. He knew that Batman will return anyway and showed him the Bat.
No one can beat Morgan Freeman his voice his stance the Delivery.
Lucious discovers a new toy. Immediately thinks about sharing it with his friend. What a good friend.
I'm sure everyone has noticed this.. but watch closely from 1:10 - 1:17. There are two bats.
So did Batman died?? Fox was asking an engineer at the end what he could have done to fix it, BUT the vehicle was in white, not in black as batman was riding it....
Darkangelcali Batman didn't die. He fixed the autopilot on both before the black one blew up over the ocean.
I knew it! One blew up over the ocean, and the spare one is here.
+abudianto fixed the software that was used for both
Hahah I was thinking about asking that! Then coincidentally enough I read this !! Hmm Idk why ?? And are they initially black or they an off color ? I cannot tell the colors
Bruce looking at Paul Allen's bat : "oh my god! it even has auto pilot!"
this scene ties into the end . here he tells Wayne "less busy mind, yours..." ... and he does in fact fix it which in the end saves his life... Nolan is a genius
The irony of Lucius transferring everything under one roof to keep them from falling into the wrong hands only for Bane to just walk in and take everything. 😂
‘I’m retired’
‘Well let me show you some stuff anyway….’
The convos between Bruce & Lucious were always 👌🏽
Morgan Freeman is the best :)
ken lau
Matt Freeman it's the best 😣
Today it's been exact 10 years to this still so compelling, I wish I could go back then in time and relive all these years again having my present conciousness
The music at the end 🤗. I owe this and the whole trilogies physical soundtrack. Best purchase that month.
“... And Yes Mr. Wayne, it does come in Black.”
Wayne was probably able to fix the autopilot just hours of seeing it.
I always get goosebumps whenever I hear the strings start to come in at the end. Like you know theme is about to come on and it’s slowly building up...
I got the vibe that Fox was super bored without designing bat-tech
Rumor has it Christian Bale broke his own leg to get into the mind of a cripple for this role.
😂😂😂nooo....
Lol
I’ll trade him my broken leg and ripped off foot to try to get back into the mind of a whole person again.
considering how method he's been for the physical aspects of other movies... I almost believe this.
0:05 this is the moment when bruce knew something he likes was going to appear
That Auto pilot conversation connects to the climax. What a brilliant writing.
"keep them from falling into the wrong hands" and then they literally do
Morgan Freeman was another perfect cast for this role in the franchise
Man I love how Dark Knight rises had all of Bruce Wayne/Batman jokes and moments reverted right back at him xD
I like how it's almost like a sport to them, like they do it for fun instead of duty.
This movie wrapped everything up nice the perfect into the best trilogy since Star Wars
I love how Alfred encourages Bruce to let Batman go while Lucius encourages Bruce to be Batman again.
I wish I had a friend Like Morgan Freeman :D
It still gives me chills to know this armory location looks the same in The Dark Knight as well, sewers still underneath where Bane would end up at.
Brilliant writing and cinematography here. We only see a small part of 'the Bat' but we see them both looking at it as Fox describes it, which adds to the anticipation of eventually seeing it in action. Genius collab with Nolan and Pfister.
This scene will never get old to me :-)
A bat that does come in black
"And yes Mister Wayne, it does come in black" So memorable, damn...
Bale is the real batman, there is no another actor that play a role as batman and bruce in one film as well like him
'Let me show you some stuff anyway, just for old time's sake.' :D
Dude, when I hear that Nolan is directing a new movie, the huge stars are just a bonus. Take Interstellar as an example. Just saw it on his IMDB page instantly marked it as one of the upcoming movies I want to see. Then I saw that Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Matthew McConaughey were in it, which added as a bonus. He doesn't just direct material that was given to him, he creats and writes it like Tarantino.
That is a really nice touch ^^
I always like the conversation between them
Let Him Become Batman Alfred, It's Part Of His Journey.
They never called the Tumbler the "Batmobile". Maybe they thought "Batwing" was going to sound silly ?
Lucious knew the second he walked in the Batman was returning.
Lucius is that grandma who used to take care of you and make you food for years as a kid, and still tries to relive those days even now that you're an adult and do other things.
The dynamic between the two.
The foreshadowing of bane taking hold of all Bruce's stuff.
How Bruce clearly misses being Batman.
A great scene from an epic movie. 👏
Happy Birthday Bale !!!!
The Dark Knight Rises locations, batcave, applied sciences, wayne manor, wayne enterprises
Were the best of the trilogy, the camera work was mind-blowing.
The way that the Bat is shown here - it paints an incomplete picture with the use of camera shots that are faced *away* from the craft, and shots that have it in frame, but out of focus. I'm assuming that this method builds up to the point in the police chase scene that reveals the Bat in its full glory.
Yes
Rene Good to know.
Loved the way he said "keep them from falling into the wrong hands" but later they literally fall into the wrong hands.
The bat didnt, the tumblers did.
When you're having a bad day, think about Morgan Freeman. Because he's certainly thinking about you.
Bruce Wayne: “Let’s see Paul Allen’s Bat.”
Long live the Batman, Batman infinity!!!!!!!!
He mentions that the auto pilot would need to be fixed and claims bruce can fix it 👀, I'm 8 years late I know, but this does foreshadow how he survived the bomb supposedly 😂
Pretty sure Bruce had the autopilot running before the day was out.
I love the Bat. Never knew it was in this movie. Live the blue lights it emits.
All that stuff quite literally fell into the wrong hands
Lets make another Batman movie with Christian Bale, Mr. Nolan...just for old times sake...would be so awesome!
