Sounds like just the average playthrough tbh. There are some tedious bits, but for 80% of the game in all my playthroughs I use almost solely ranged attacks lol
A good question, I might have been mistaken in my little experience with the game but from what I could tell, the attacks of the blades were slower, had less ranged options, dealt less damage overall in terms of how fast and lack of freeze option so in most cases the ax proved superior. Might have just been my ignorance tho, I'm not terribly sure
@@Shenaniloon if you throw your blades into the floor when there are many enemies and charge it up, it will launch all enemies into the air iirc. Its great crowd control.

It does feel safer not having a giant foe 1 foot away trying to stab you when you can chuck stuff at them from 15 ft away
