If you have an uphill green with a lot of green to work with, the shot is to take a pw or 9 iron and hit a running chip. You don't have to fly it as far so it's easier to hit your landing spot, and you don't have to worry about it checking up too much. It will release up the slope. This is what every actual pro golfer does. Go back to those two uphill green back pins at Oakmont and try this shot. If it doesn't work then the game is broken in this regard.
@@smithersandburns yeah, it's more unlearning 2K23 where flying it and spinning it on a dime is the play in most cases. Love that 2K25 will make you think more realistically. Appreciate the comment

The developers of the game are not good enough at golf to know what shot would be realistically harder or easier to execute. So it's just illogical video game fantasy nonsense. Zero pga tour players ever, Tiger Woods, etc have ever be better at flying a ball and stopping it on a dime to a back pin with a lot of green to work with, than they are at hitting a normal chip shot with less loft. So this year's game is probably going to be a better game since at least they fixed that.

Great work Seamount! I'm really enjoying the demo, the punishing nature of the short game if you put yourself in the wrong position is awesome, chips working like chips should, all the little small quality of life things in the menus. Can't wait for the full release. Seeing a lot of chatter from the top top tier of players saying it's too easy with the removal of tempo. But idk the demo is on a fairly straightforward course with no wind and default conditions.

Very nice video. I was happy when you mentioned the pitch shots are in the 40 - 60 yard range. I found 2k23 giving you a pitch shot from well over 100 yards was ridiculous.
Oh man you got US-Open'd on that 2nd hole, my word! The new EvoSwing mechanic is absolutely inspired. Tempo is no longer the deciding factor, every shot feels different; pushes and pulls are now as common as slices/hooks; the skill ceiling and/or range on Master and Legend has now increased; sidehill lies are now fiendish because they change your swing meter target positions, putting now has the element of swing path challenge as well as just distance and now syncs up with the normal shot meter better; it's harder to cheat as you can't put rails from 12pm-6pm on your controller stick; each pro can play slightly differently... it's just so good. Also amazing changes to the designer. My one big disappointment is not being able to have a third layer of super-heavy rough or set the properties of the heavy and light rough. Heavy rough at the US Open shouldn't have the same lie penalty as heavy rough on TPC Whatever
@Seamount4Life I'd like to know what courses are gonna be available on PGA 2K25 and I'd also like to see you play one of the courses from Atlanta other than the Masters Like East Lake or Atlanta Athletic Club
I played the demo at pro settings and it seems better in that it's harder to go by the numbers they give you in trying to make shot and you'll have to go by more instinct rather than trying to analyze the yardage numbers, making for a more realistic game and not having 1000s of people going 50 under par in tournaments (hopefully)
Now I have to say sorry about this one but it was also so nice to see another solid shooter struggling with this new shot mechanic you still do better than me but I wore myself down to an absolute frazzle playing legendary for about 6 hours today trying to get a feel for it and eventually had to step down to pro swing with legendary everything else just so I could keep my enthusiasm
@MerryMaruader I was invited by 2K to play the full version of the game early and capture the footage. That is what this video is from. The Demo is only the back 9 of TPC Scottsdale, no matter which version you pre-ordered.
Hoping the tweak the master swing to be more difficult when you level up...seems like it might be too easy with practice. Having it be similar to the 65 overall would be more realistic in the long run...at least make it more difficult to move swing angles which doesn't do much currently.
dang seamount number 2 got your number no pun intended lol. i have so many questions......... does different clubs have different sounds? was the ghostball issue on the build you played? why does the replay graphics have so much better look then the actual gameplay? i got more but will stop
Not sure on the different sound effects when switching clubs. We didn't have time to do too much so I only ever used the 2K clubs. I don't know what the ghost ball issue is, so not sure. maybe the Replay environment is more a more controlled area so the engine is able to be more detailed. just a guess. Thanks for watching!
@@Seamount4Life the ghostball issue is when the ball is rolling it looks like there is another ball rolling with it right behind it until it stops then its solid again. very visually offputting.
After playing the demo a bit, I’m super concerned that after our characters are leveled up and we get a little time in, the game is going to be way too easy. The diagonal swing plane doesn’t seem able to make up for the lost difficulty of timing. All you have to do is turn the controller a bit and swing straight. Additionally, the lead developer who was the lead with EA, and he appears to have turned this game into the EA arcade game.
Yeah, I think the demo should help them make some adjustments, especially at the Master/Legend level. It seems to be playing too easy for those difficulties. I don't agree that it is an arcade game though. It can be very sim at the top end if you want it to. Thanks for watching!
I got -3 I’m better than you. Lol! Jking but I did get -3 like my third game. But one thing that helped me was on like 10 ft and in putting never leave it short and put extra mustard on it. And also chipping slightly hit under the recommended percentage with back spin
Im sure players are going to enjoy this game but the difficulty is a big ? Seeing Tigers swing bias that is barely off centre is a huge worry. Having PRO as default for ranked looks to be a big mistake also.
The physics in 2K are still just not right, EA sports has always been superior in that aspect. There's no way you just putted it up hill through a bunker to the other side.
Well, in that case, the demo has just saved you £60. Putting isn’t that much different from 2K23. To be honest the demo has slow greens, which I never used in 2K23. The demo doesn’t have any wind so judging distance is easier than it will be. Also, if you want a more difficult game, don’t use Scout Cam. Only use the overhead maps as you would in real life.

@joshramirez7 yeah, they need to make adjustments. Game needs to play like this when we're maxed characters, not when we're 65-70ovr.

Sea! Definitely going to take some getting used to.. don’t love the feel and the sound of putting. I do like how chipping is harder..
Yeah, I love all the music and sound effects, but the Putter contact sound is the glaring exception
I get the hype to make money but just once it would be great to have a game released as its advertised instead of making the masses wait

@golfboy7438 I think they'll make dome adjustments based on the demo feedback. And we do get Master Daily and weekly Tournaments in 2K Tours at least
