Anneke van Giersbergen is an absolute treasure. She always looks so happy to be on stage, singing. Thank-you, Avrotros, for bringing some Anneke to our lives.
Those Dutch metal queens are drawing in the rest of the world to Beste Zangers. Anneke Giersbergen, again such a magnificent singer.
The Queen who inspired Floor, and its clear why... such a voice, so much power, and so much joy.
Floor is our Vakyrie, but Anneke .. she will always be the Queen.
And another amazing song, Roel truly is a gift to music, his songs and lyrics are incredible.

Anneke heeft niet alleen een geweldige stem, je kan ook altijd aan haar zien hoe ze geniet van het zingen. Travel van The Gathering (met Anneke) is altijd nog een van mijn favoriete nummers aller tijden.

'Travel' is ook mijn favoriete nummer aller tijden, het geeft me al 20 jaar goosebumps
Zou zo tof zijn als het grootste deel van NL Anneke en The Gathering niet langer enkel associeert met 'Strange Machines' en haar/hun vroegere 'melodic / goth metal', maar ook oor heeft voor haar en hun latere, meer 'trip rocky' werk. Denk vooral aan de soundscapes van 'A Sound Relief'. Ook The Gentle Storm en haar werk met Devin, Danny, Lorrainville, Arstidir en solo verdient zeker meer anndacht door het breder publiek. Hopelijk weet BZ in voldoende mate de breedte van haar (en TG's) indrukwekkende discografie voor het grote publiek onder de aandacht te brengen.

THis is one of the best songs I've ever heard......Thanks to Roel van Velzen and his dad.....and what a rendition by Anneke....and the band, my goodness....it drives along like a train.....more please....how many songs from other countries can you remember after one hearing?.....This one will be remembered....World Class, bless you all!

The singers on this show are always amazing. Anneke has been a favorite of mine since The Gathering of the mid-90s. However, this show is absolutely NOTHING without that amazing backing band. Lesley Van Der Aa seriously holding it down.

Ik ben een jonkie van 50, en ontdekte haar ook via The Gathering, een steengoeie zangeres met iets waarbij een man (of vrouw) heel makkelijk een hartslag of 2 over kan slaan :)

Good Grief.... this series based on this performance looks like it will be GIGANTIC. And this is only the first one I have watched. Still cant get it in the UK though. But hey...thanks to AVROTROS I can watch it here....Deep Joy.
Watching the whole episode is even better, because Van Velzen explained that he wrote the song to thank his father, who taught him to sing in harmony by playing Beatles songs in the car. Sadly, he passed away in 2013. Now, the song is a tribute, to him and to music in general. That‘s why Anneke wanted to sing it here for Van Velzen.

God, Roel! Such a wonderful written/composed song, there's only one thing. In this one I prefere Anneke's voice over yours. To be completely honest, I do prefere female over male vocals, and there's not anyone who can change that. But still,....the one thing we have in common is, Queen! The best band ever!

Anneke van Giersbergen is een bijzondere zangeres. Of ze nu met de Gathering, de Gentle Storm, Aristor, Vuur of solo optreedt. Haar samenwerkingen met within Temptation, Arjan Lukassen (Ayreon), Danny Cavanagh, Devin Towsend zijn legendarische in the metal scene.
Laten we ook haar eigen werk niet vergeten. Het is zeker de moeite waard om eens te kijken wat zijn allemaal kan. Ze is een ware zangkunstenaar.

Die piccolo trompet was echt zo'n gave toevoeging, wist alleen niet meer welk beatles nummer het bekend van is. En heerlijk gezongen door Anneke uiteraard.

Wow,,,,,, what a great performance! Another diamond for Beste Zangers history. I'm glad the new series started. They managed to get a wonderful group of singers from different genres together again. Almost can't wait for the next show.
