IS had a way of making “self fulfilling prophecies” by pandering to certain characters they seem to just hand select and almost force them to be “popular” . Look at Altina I guarantee you less then half the fandom even knew her name before feh, but now she is a home staple for the series entirely because IS pandered her in FEH. Look at characters like Karla, Ursula etc. pump enough fan service and top tier art and any character can sell eventually…
I don't hate OCs (especially book 8 ocs, it's probably one of my favorites regarding new characters) but I agree that they shouldn t all be mythics like they're all cool (especially the alcoholic snake lady she's great ngl) but they don't have this divine element that old mythics used to have (and should have in my opinion) I think it would make more sense to slot them in new heroes banners
I personally want to see all the OCs get their base versions in some form. I hope base Fafnir comes into the game eventually. I’m still coping for base Bruno and 1st form Veronica to be added.
To put it simply, the Feh OCs are more widely known and have more fans from newer audiences than a majority of the older characters who really are only sought after by older fans. So IS going with the option that's more likely to generate money for them, that being the OCs.

And then there is Ullr that if I remember correctly didn’t had any physical appearance before Heroes, so it seems not impossible to create something.
I actually got excited when we got Ullr because FE4 is my favourite FE game and I thought we would get more of the Crusaders and while I like the Ocs, it's so predictable we are gonna get them as mythics sooner or later while we also get our 9th Micaiah.
Welcome back Tacho! And I get it, I am more of a fan of OC’s, but the main reason I enjoyed early FEH was to meet characters that others knew so well,(Like Lyn). So yeah, lemme see more of these mythical, legendary, unique characters that someone can lore drop on me.
I am still patiently waiting for any version of Nasir. Who was both important to the plot and a playable character in PoR and RD. He will definitely show up someday. 😭
I absolutely understand where the burnout comes from, but I also see it from IS’s point of view. FE characters from specific games are finite, once you use them, they’re gone. Look at Valentia; the last banner was two NPC villains, an alt of Sonya, and ONLY Mycen was the brand new playable character, Peony and Triandra took up spots on the banner to pad it out. We didn’t even get Deen, Jesse, or Nomah. Meanwhile so long as you keep making books, FEH OCs can be in constant supply. Hell, hold onto one of them and you can save a release for a few years onward, like Freyr. But still, I can see why people are pissed. Ullr was a really cool Mythic for someone who previously didn’t have a design. We could see stuff like that for the other 12 Crusaders, for Lady Patricia, for Marcelus (since Anri has an official design), etc.
As someone who plays for favorites from games and not really for meta, I've accumulated almost three thousand orbs since about ~100 will net me any alt that happens to come out.. and with the OCs and waifus, that is incredibly uncommon lmaoo. At least I don't have to spend a cent!
It would be cool to get some lore relevant characters but like someone who whales on the 3rd gullvieg is not spending a dollar on soan or hartmut, let’s be real here. The game exists to make money not cater to fans that’s why we have so many characters that are locked to seasonals as harsh as it is

I think the Mythic being the OCs is probably IS not wanting to excluding any Book 8 OCs in the book timespan. Some books had to be excluded in order for other non-OCs Mythic to be in. For example: Book 4: Freyr (was released after Book 4 ended 3 years ago) Book 5: Fafnir Book 6: Elm Book 7: Njordr (which I don't think have a high chance of being playable) I think some of Mythic like Soan and Loptous are more difficult implement because they do not have a human form.
I like the FEH OCs, but outside of skills, some of them don't feel like mythic characters, from the current book the only one who I can get behind of getting mythic status is the tree guy, the rest could be in the normal pool or in a pool similar to re-armed that comes around here and there. Bro imagine if Ylgr was a mythic. And Surtr was impactful even while being in the normal pool, that would also make easier for characters like Elm to enter the game without problem. The characters that guy mentioned, I wouldn't pull for any of them, but about expanding the lore of Fire Emblem, imagine if we got adult Sothis or dragon Seteth for example.
i was going to comment about how they could also use the deadlords for mythic, and give them a bit of lore and their designs are basically free real estate since they change everytime so they could make some big tiddy waifus if they're scared of them not selling but it reminded me of a dream i had that was so realistic that i felt dissapointed when waking up so i want to tell you about it!! so basically new feh channel was released for next book and the characters for the next banner were being showed off, gauntlet finally being added, finally a male free oc (i should've understood it was a dream right here tbh) and the last character was like a boring ass generic female cleric with no skills beside weapon and assist (like masked lucina), and even the owl was like "who the f*ck is that?? lepus??" and then she'll do the announcement of a new unit type: tied with the next book's story the order of heroes discovers that amongst the many allies they summoned... some of them are actually "impostors" spying on askr for the bad guys and once the new unit type "coordinators" (here lepus) is summoned 6 of them would then reveal their true strengh receiving a new personal weapon and 3 tier 4 skills however you won't be able to fodder them and if lepus were to leave your barracks they'll lose their new found power the first 6 would be: og sylvain, og lissa, og roy, hoshidian summer micaiha, og lewyn and og lapis basically you summon a turd to buff 6 other units, a good way to buff underwhelming units, give fan service to fan favorites without giving them another alt, especially help gen 1, and make 3/4* units worth using and merging up again. the mechanic was so detailed than even when i woke for 5 minutes i was like "omg i'm so hyped for the next banner!" then the sad reality hit me
Thanks for the video Tacho! I think the Heroes OCs are pretty cool and have an awesome design, but i do think upping the amount of other mythics would be amazing. But as a Lianna fan, i am used to waiting. Will the day where Lianna and Rowan get into Heroes ever come? I don't know.
To be honest, at first I didn't care that much about OCs, since I was curious about what other worlds in FEH would be like, but since Plumeria almost won the CYL and Gullveig won the CYL, I started to notice that IS was starting to give a lot of preference to OCs, but more to the ones that were waifus because obviously, people love fanservice (that's obvious). Although after book 7 (which in itself, I feel like they made one or two mistakes there like the pre-combat dmg), I started to feel that I was getting fed up with so many OCs, that it felt like many times they gave them more priority than other FE Characters. But anyway, I guess we'll have to see what will happen with all that in the future, but in itself, fanservice isn't bad, it's something that will be in every game but IS should give a little more priority to other FE characters than to OCs (Don't forget that they haven't even placed Fafnir yet)

I saw recent Hræsvelgr became more relevant again in the game and was like, maybe they will not skip her after all and maybe she will even be the next mythic. Since there was speculation she would just fade away in the background before WIth the introduction of Emblems there is just no space for Mythic heroes anymore, beside the OC ones it seems. I mean Lumera was special since she was togheter with the first Emblem, if they only added Marth we would have zero non-oc this year
I prefer what they were doing in the past. Placing the OCs in a new heroes banner. It helps with some games like Valentina having less new heroes to roll out anymore.
I feel like they are holding Athos for a save on the game. Give him some effect to use in a new game mode when the game starts falling to bring everyone back.
i think the problem with no OC mythics is they have trouble coming up with gimmicks for them, this type of hero needs to have something unique to be apealing, some have pre stablish gimmicks, like Fomorrtis and his AoE sleep spell or Gotoh being the only unit with good Res in FE1, units like Ullr that just hit hard don't call the atention of people from a utility stanpoint. Also for characters that don't have a complete artwork or we never saw on screen, coming up with a desing/redesing from scratch would take longer to make and no much diferent from making and OC.
the biggest issue is how similar they also are. like how about the white and gold shredded male beast unit, if you remove the head of ekþyrnir and askr as well as the bellthingy and dumbell there is no way you could actually differentiate them. if we get units from other games heck even if it is the 20th corrin that at least looks different from all the ocs so that is probably the biggest issue people have
OC fatigue is a serious problem for me lately. If it means getting more main series mythics, they should just dump all the book OCs on a new heroes banner at the end of each story november. I'm sure that would be a fine compromise since several games are already being somewhat phased out from new heroes banners due to no real roster left to pull from.
Take this 🍿, reader, you're going to need it: I feel like, with Three Houses being so popular, it would be easy to sell all the Crest people. Maybe asking for a brand new design, voice, and lore is a lot, but it would surely sell. Even like, Idech(?) and the big turtle thing would be pretty cool. Heck, just make Mythic Seteth and Flayn at that rate, and people would still go for it since it's 3H. That, or maybe make Mythic banners a Double Mythic. I'd kill for Anri, Baldr, Ced, Roland, Athos, but they all have one problem in common: they're all guys! Just throw the character all the nerds want with the new hot girl and boom, sales. And with the inevitable release of FE4's remake, I believe the Crusaders will pick up a little following. Anyway, that's my thoughts, I really want Roland one day.
I Strongly believe we will not see Laegarth like with Fafnir and Njorth not to mention characters we know only in name like Menja Hvergel which were missed opportunities and angroboda which honestly i would like to more of her characters since she gives birth to three most important characters in norse mythology one being Hel the other being Jormugandr and Fenrir which play important role in ragnarok but the story focuses to much on OCs i would like all heroes characters to be added in New heroes banners like the Tempest characters that would make them easier to get since i believe the story characters should be easier to get. So i expect Niddhogr and a new legendary Hero probably someone like ethlyn Minerva Quan or Eldigan

This book was worse because no one died so they release all of the OCs at once. And we are expecting more with new book and another one on december. The problem I see is that Book 8 Heroes are so many, that they have to release them consecutively this time, and that leaves no space for other Heroes from other games. IF they only had fewer OCs released every book like in Book 6, I think it would not be an issue. Also I think Emblem Heroes also contributed to the release of Mythics. I am also one of those who hoped for Athos because it's been far too long. I hope he finds his way into FEH soon. I'm kinda fed up on waifu service.
I prefere to have the mythic OC now than never. If we finish the book and they are not all release they will reveive the Fafnir/Freyr treatment and it's very bad. Athos and other potential mythic can wait honestly...
When in THE WORLD are we getting a radiant dawn remake? Actual money waiting to be capitalized on, everyone knows who Ike is - work with that, it's so easy. Or maybe IS just hates remakes idk. Time to wait for several years with no FE news while they milk 3Houses and Awakening like a golden cow, though deservedly so but still. Slightly unrelated, beast users have to be the most unhappy subsection of players in FEH, we have ONE arcane and you can't give it to armored beasts, and to my knowledge Eitr is just hard to come by. The transformation mechanic has not aged well and is worse on older units. Even though we are just now getting more skills that transform you in the F2P pool, this already took way too long to implement - and the opportunity cost of needing the skill on your B slot is too damn high when things like Laguz 4 exist, or your beast unit is not fast enough to justify running Beast Sense 3. And lastly we see just about the same beast units ALL THE TIME unless they are FEH OCs, in which case that doesn't even really count. Chances are you're probably not pulling them because they're beasts in the first place, it's because they're meta or attractive. Like is it so hard to give us something like any one of Naesala's crew but in their base iteration as GHB units if they truly aren't that popular to make the banner? Intsys is actually never going to listen to constructive feedback about this unit type, and it's irritating. I have a dude on my friend's list whose been asking for Volug for like 5 years lol. Let's hope this comment ages poorly and the OCs come with beast fodder that doesn't shit the bed at actually being useful.
I understand why people are upset but this is the oc’s game so they should get priority,but what I think they should do is always have double banners one oc and one from the main games but I’m probably just crazy🙃
playing feh and complaining because they added hraesvelgr instead of athos is the exact same thing as playing three houses and complaining because they added caspar instead of athos. doesn't take a genius to understand they'd prioritize the game's actual characters instead of the summoning sub-plot.
I don't even think that feh is used to add informations/ lore to the characters in the main games. They usually just put generic lines that doesn't increase what we know much about them already from their games or other source of medias (like artbooks with infos). I haven't played radiant dawn so I don't know about Altina, but seeing her quotes in FEH, all of them sounds generic and doesn't give any addition to her backstory, relationships, or much about what she thinks about things. Rarely cases happens, like F! Kid robin, talking about her mother (I can't remember what she says about her tho), but that isn't even the point of a crossover game. Anyway, I think people wouldn't be complaining about OCs if they at least were more interesting and had significant development. Edit: btw, Veld from fe5 also isn't a dragon endgame boss. A lame boss, but he isn't a dragon.
At least in terms of Altina, she has her conversation with Sanaki in the duo which is pretty great Unfortunately the rest of her alts haven't been in a Forging Bonds since they're all seasonal and her base was Mythic
Legit, a good chunk of people complaining wont be willing to get the feh pass and pay to get that spark. Reddit is always overrun with strictly f2p players complaining. Like nothing wrong with no spending money on a game. But the notion of wanting every issue you have to be solved when you arent even doing business with them is kinda..... First world Though yeah, we really get too many OCs lately, but honestly thats mainly them writting too many characters in this book. Like i hate to say it but....did theres at least one of the quieting hands we didnt really need because they didnt accomplish much. I wont say HER name so yall dont be dendending her, but even with the story she didnt do anything substantial. The others kinda did enough to warrant being around. Also amusing how some people are treating Engage as the boogyman when we've been living in the 3H Boogyman era ever since the damn game came out lol. A random engage character isnt really a thing lmao. Theres a difference between having a dedicated banner or 50/50 vs showing up with one character. Its still random 3H units showing up on banners. Only time Engage did this was in Summer last year, when we had the engage drought. It would be more digestable if we didnt have base Lumera as a GHB. But tbh we dont have any other engage character that immediately would draw interest from the first arc as the GHB.
People think CYL is just for picking that year's Brave lineup, but I'm willing to bet that CYL determines all the releases for the next year, based on popularity. The reality is no one is asking for those heroes, mythic or not.
That logic only works when IS actually gives people a chance to vote for them. None of the 12 Crusaders are votable. That includes Ullr, a character they literally added to FEH already (Elimine and Fomortiis also aren't votable.). That logic also excludes the fact that Athos has been one of the most voted characters from Elibe that still isn't in the game for a few years now and nothing has come from it. Before you say it's because he's an old man, the same applies to Scarlet from Fates.

Engage was a mistake...
The difficulty is that in standard Fire Emblem, most main lords and story centric units are male, whereas FEH caters towards a fan service audience.

I prefer what they were doing in the past. Placing the OCs in a new heroes banner. It helps with some games like Valentina having less new heroes to roll out anymore.

I feel like they are holding Athos for a save on the game. Give him some effect to use in a new game mode when the game starts falling to bring everyone back.
i think the problem with no OC mythics is they have trouble coming up with gimmicks for them, this type of hero needs to have something unique to be apealing, some have pre stablish gimmicks, like Fomorrtis and his AoE sleep spell or Gotoh being the only unit with good Res in FE1, units like Ullr that just hit hard don't call the atention of people from a utility stanpoint. Also for characters that don't have a complete artwork or we never saw on screen, coming up with a desing/redesing from scratch would take longer to make and no much diferent from making and OC.

the biggest issue is how similar they also are. like how about the white and gold shredded male beast unit, if you remove the head of ekþyrnir and askr as well as the bellthingy and dumbell there is no way you could actually differentiate them. if we get units from other games heck even if it is the 20th corrin that at least looks different from all the ocs so that is probably the biggest issue people have
Not to mention the founding dragons like the dusk and dawn dragons from Fates. We have Mila and Duma+ Naga already

OC fatigue is a serious problem for me lately.
If it means getting more main series mythics, they should just dump all the book OCs on a new heroes banner at the end of each story november. I'm sure that would be a fine compromise since several games are already being somewhat phased out from new heroes banners due to no real roster left to pull from.

I feel like, with Three Houses being so popular, it would be easy to sell all the Crest people. Maybe asking for a brand new design, voice, and lore is a lot, but it would surely sell. Even like, Idech(?) and the big turtle thing would be pretty cool. Heck, just make Mythic Seteth and Flayn at that rate, and people would still go for it since it's 3H.
That, or maybe make Mythic banners a Double Mythic. I'd kill for Anri, Baldr, Ced, Roland, Athos, but they all have one problem in common: they're all guys! Just throw the character all the nerds want with the new hot girl and boom, sales.
And with the inevitable release of FE4's remake, I believe the Crusaders will pick up a little following.
Anyway, that's my thoughts, I really want Roland one day.
I want Athos but I also always bring up Vaida but that’s because I want duo Vaida/Heath alt with a 90s rock theme the hair styles would sell it.
I Strongly believe we will not see Laegarth like with Fafnir and Njorth not to mention characters we know only in name like Menja Hvergel which were missed opportunities and angroboda which honestly i would like to more of her characters since she gives birth to three most important characters in norse mythology one being Hel the other being Jormugandr and Fenrir which play important role in ragnarok but the story focuses to much on OCs i would like all heroes characters to be added in New heroes banners like the Tempest characters that would make them easier to get since i believe the story characters should be easier to get. So i expect Niddhogr and a new legendary Hero probably someone like ethlyn Minerva Quan or Eldigan

This book was worse because no one died so they release all of the OCs at once. And we are expecting more with new book and another one on december. I Hope we get another double as Gotoh and Fomortiis

I mean i was waiting for both girls to be honest. Also that first article forgot veyla. Pretty sure she came out this year. Also emblems came out in a similar banner, same as male corrin. Plus we are comming to the end of the book, of course the enemies are being added to the hero pool. I want characters from the other games as well, but I'm fine with what I am getting

The problem I see is that Book 8 Heroes are so many, that they have to release them consecutively this time, and that leaves no space for other Heroes from other games. IF they only had fewer OCs released every book like in Book 6, I think it would not be an issue. Also I think Emblem Heroes also contributed to the release of Mythics. I am also one of those who hoped for Athos because it's been far too long. I hope he finds his way into FEH soon. I'm kinda fed up on waifu service.
I kind of wish FeH OCs launched as Attuned instead of Mythics at this point. Just rerun them on the Legendary/Mythic banners.
My only wish is to have Jubelo and Midia from Archanea

I prefere to have the mythic OC now than never. If we finish the book and they are not all release they will reveive the Fafnir/Freyr treatment and it's very bad.

When in THE WORLD are we getting a radiant dawn remake? Actual money waiting to be capitalized on, everyone knows who Ike is - work with that, it's so easy. Or maybe IS just hates remakes idk. Time to wait for several years with no FE news while they milk 3Houses and Awakening like a golden cow, though deservedly so but still.
Slightly unrelated, beast users have to be the most unhappy subsection of players in FEH, we have ONE arcane and you can't give it to armored beasts, and to my knowledge Eitr is just hard to come by. The transformation mechanic has not aged well and is worse on older units. Even though we are just now getting more skills that transform you in the F2P pool, this already took way too long to implement - and the opportunity cost of needing the skill on your B slot is too damn high when things like Laguz 4 exist, or your beast unit is not fast enough to justify running Beast Sense 3.
And lastly we see just about the same beast units ALL THE TIME unless they are FEH OCs, in which case that doesn't even really count. Chances are you're probably not pulling them because they're beasts in the first place, it's because they're meta or attractive.
Like is it so hard to give us something like any one of Naesala's crew but in their base iteration as GHB units if they truly aren't that popular to make the banner? Intsys is actually never going to listen to constructive feedback about this unit type, and it's irritating. I have a dude on my friend's list whose been asking for Volug for like 5 years lol.
Let's hope this comment ages poorly and the OCs come with beast fodder that doesn't shit the bed at actually being useful.
I understand why people are upset but this is the oc’s game so they should get priority,but what I think they should do is always have double banners one oc and one from the main games but I’m probably just crazy🙃
playing feh and complaining because they added hraesvelgr instead of athos is the exact same thing as playing three houses and complaining because they added caspar instead of athos. doesn't take a genius to understand they'd prioritize the game's actual characters instead of the summoning sub-plot.
The Book 7 OCs are Mid. Especially Gullveig. Nerþuz is the only best Book 7 OC that isn’t mid
I don't even think that feh is used to add informations/ lore to the characters in the main games. They usually just put generic lines that doesn't increase what we know much about them already from their games or other source of medias (like artbooks with infos). I haven't played radiant dawn so I don't know about Altina, but seeing her quotes in FEH, all of them sounds generic and doesn't give any addition to her backstory, relationships, or much about what she thinks about things.
Rarely cases happens, like F! Kid robin, talking about her mother (I can't remember what she says about her tho), but that isn't even the point of a crossover game.
Anyway, I think people wouldn't be complaining about OCs if they at least were more interesting and had significant development.
Edit: btw, Veld from fe5 also isn't a dragon endgame boss. A lame boss, but he isn't a dragon.
At least in terms of Altina, she has her conversation with Sanaki in the duo which is pretty great
Unfortunately the rest of her alts haven't been in a Forging Bonds since they're all seasonal and her base was Mythic
Legit, a good chunk of people complaining wont be willing to get the feh pass and pay to get that spark. Reddit is always overrun with strictly f2p players complaining. Like nothing wrong with no spending money on a game. But the notion of wanting every issue you have to be solved when you arent even doing business with them is kinda.....

Though yeah, we really get too many OCs lately, but honestly thats mainly them writting too many characters in this book. Like i hate to say it but....did theres at least one of the quieting hands we didnt really need because they didnt accomplish much. I wont say HER name so yall dont be dendending her, but even with the story she didnt do anything substantial. The others kinda did enough to warrant being around.
Also amusing how some people are treating Engage as the boogyman when we've been living in the 3H Boogyman era ever since the damn game came out lol. A random engage character isnt really a thing lmao. Theres a difference between having a dedicated banner or 50/50 vs showing up with one character. Its still random 3H units showing up on banners. Only time Engage did this was in Summer last year, when we had the engage drought. It would be more digestable if we didnt have base Lumera as a GHB. But tbh we dont have any other engage character that immediately would draw interest from the first arc as the GHB.
Hyacinth? Morion? I think they could work well as GHBs
People think CYL is just for picking that year's Brave lineup, but I'm willing to bet that CYL determines all the releases for the next year, based on popularity. The reality is no one is asking for those heroes, mythic or not.
That logic only works when IS actually gives people a chance to vote for them. None of the 12 Crusaders are votable. That includes Ullr, a character they literally added to FEH already (Elimine and Fomortiis also aren't votable.). That logic also excludes the fact that Athos has been one of the most voted characters from Elibe that still isn't in the game for a few years now and nothing has come from it. Before you say it's because he's an old man, the same applies to Scarlet from Fates.
@@Da_868 On top of that there are characters like scarlet who have consistently been the top most voted character not yet in feh from their respective games (often in top 100 or better overall) and they are still being skipped over for characters that get literally single digit votes.
