I once had a fling with a wonderful Zulu guy in Midrand, and when I met his uncle, things took an unexpected turn. Upon hearing us speak in English, his uncle asked if I would survive "emakhaya" (in the rural areas), and my guy assured him I would because I enjoyed cleaning and cooking-cue the laughter. The truth was, I spoke English due to a language barrier, being Tswana.
After watching a video recently, I was taken aback by how some Zulu men still expect women to give up their careers, submit to their husbands, and rely solely on them as providers. It's 2023, and times have indeed changed. I firmly believe that a woman working doesn't diminish her husband's role as the head of the household.
Black love has evolved, and the dynamics within relationships now embrace equality and shared responsibilities. It's about supporting each other's ambitions and aspirations while navigating life together. The notion that a woman should solely focus on homemaking is becoming outdated, as couples today recognise the value of each partner's individual growth and fulfilment.

@@Sylvesdo-25i agree. If we say relationships should be based on logic then for what or when should feelings apply? We are human with feelings so where do we apply those feelings if not with relationships. I was in a session with our CEO lately. Very successful gent who has a company that operates in 59 countries. Wow, this sure is interesting hey. It just takes me back to a relationship I had a year ago, where the guy had mentioned that he grew up in a polygamous family, but his not a polygamist yet, haai shem, that was a red flag and I was glad he mentioned that because I didnt see myself part and parcel of that situation.

I have just left a guy I dated for 5 months because he just revealed to me that he wants me in a polygamous marriage. If that was communicated early on, we would not have wasted each other's time.

Imagine believing your grandparents were in same sex relationships 😂, this generation is just caught up in the crazy western identity. We need to take a step back and regain our africaness.

they were in same sex relationships but behind closed door because it was a taboo. western culture only gave them the option to come out with it but it never made them gay

They were in same sex relationships long before colonization. This man and woman relationship was created by colonizers just like monogamy. Look at how animals operate.

Idliso signifies insecurity . It's also unfair to the victim bcz idliso is altering free will and mental state. I understood the history behind it , kodwa manje things have changed. Is it relevant lona in this day and age , ngisho lona idliso. In the days of anxiety, depression , bipolar , personality disorder and other mental health issues.
