I don’t know how to explain it, I’ve listened to this mix many many times, for some reason it hit me the hardest right now. I haven’t body rocked, jammed so hard in a looonnng time! The entire mix is a beautiful mental journey with so many images and emotions.. I have 2 hours left of my midnight drive back home, and this one hour mix has been the ultimate zone out dance my ass off experience I could’ve ever asked for. Please keep doing what you’re doing! PSA UA-cam needs to remove the ads from the mix
To all the people who hated "Just Like", I give you a challenge: if you think its so simple and basic, try and copy at least 1 of the tracks from the EP and you'll see how truly complex the songs truly were. But please, prove me wrong.
I see some hate on here, but I gotta say I honestly really find it to be a very close minded stance, disrespectful even, to say that just because they've had a large shift in style that they sound in any way generic. The people saying that they need to go back to doing synth harmonies and stuff are really just wanting a return to the very maximal sound they were often channeling, esp on Metropolis pt. 2. If you're actually paying attention to every note, they are carving some very interesting harmonies and ideas in sound. You guys keep rocking it, love the sharp and varied minimalism and on point curation of style.
+Blaise Stella If you watch it and really listen to the music a lot of it sounds way better than their old stuff did, I feel like the first 20 minutes of this mix aren't that memorable but if you listen the whole way through it gets pretty incredible and worth it

I'm really loving this! I hate that people are getting pissed about M machine exploring a new "genre". I love the fact that this is a completely different world than the Metropolis world they created. Although the sound is kind of minimalistic, there is still a lot of depth to the music in my opinion. Also this mix and their new EP is totally made for listening to it while on drugs, do the druggies agree? trippy as hell :D
Can someone who went to the just like tour tell me if this is basically what they heard? I'm a huge fan of the m machine and I'm finally going to see them on the madeon tour and really hope I don't get to hear this. I like their "just like" ep but I freakin need to hear metropolis!
Alastair Scott Thanks a lot! I've been listening to this everyday for a week now, and I've dicovered some new favourites. Who knows the names for the songs starting at 10:45 and 38:16 (some no fun remix but idk which one)? Also, is the just like remix starting at 50:50 official?
I think it's like skrillex. If you go through his music chronologically, you can see that he changed his style more radically than most artists, but he still remains skrillex. I think M machine is awesome and will always stay awesome
Honestly, most of this mix sounds really average and forgettable, on the standards of what you've introduced earlier on your career. I really miss the stuff you did when you were making your breakthrough, I thought it was something you'd define yourselves within instead of falling to this mist of unoriginal beats and melodies. My two cents. I know it's just a mix they've made, but the direction they're heading, it lacks the creativity I originally was obsessed with.
Entirely Agree. I was super excited when they announced a new EP and when it came out along with the singles, it all just came tumbling down. I mean it does have a small unique sound to it but really its just plain tech house. If you try to compare it to Metropolis its basically comparing Apples and Oranges. They were far better off with their earlier sound.
Ilynatus both Metropolis albums were incredible and I even liked the remix album, purely because the songs were so rich that they would sound good in any form. When Just Like was put on UA-cam I nearly cried. I hope they will go back to making synthesizer symphonies at some point because I'd rather skip this phase than forget about them.
Rens de Jonge I think Just Like was their way of taking a break. Sometimes its nice to produce some less production intensive music and just keep it simple. I'm sure they will go back to their unique and technical sound at some point (who knows when). Regardless, their current direction still has a very unique flavour and I really don't think you can just pass it off as what Ilynatus called it: 'plain tech house'.
Yikak4 That might be, and certainly hope so. The songs on Just Like were, however, not only less production intensive but were also much less rich in composition and arrangement - I do hope that it really is a break but I fear it's just a change in direction.
the last 10 minutes are fucking amazing...
I caught myself dancing without thinking about it. I love their new approach to music.
😮 Apa Apa Apa Apa
Spain mola England cul!
Ja ja ja thank you Uuuuuu

I love this album. This set is beautiful and the graphics are a delightful trip. 10/10 would download and listen to several more times today

Was a good show live :)
they are releasing the just like remixes EP in two days.
This is great, is there a download available?
I liked their debut music more than I liked the Just Like - EP, I feel it was more mainstream this time around. I'm not hating, still love the trio.
Badass bro!
