My wife and I have lived on your recommendations for years for our Friday/Saturday night entertainment schedules. You never disappoint, man. Thank you!
That was an excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Agree with you on Below Zero, Beckett (I’m also a big fan of John David Washington) and Dragged Across Concrete. These are certainly outstanding films and highly recommended. I’ll be revisiting these and checking out your other recommendations. Many thanks for sharing with us 👍👍👍
Unlike Darren, I liked Chronicles of Riddick (2004), its a favorite of mine. I don’t know what makes a bad triple A movie, I liked Jupiter Ascending (2015) and John Carter of Mars (2012) which feel just as epic 🤷♂️
I remember being disappointed with Riddick (2013) as well, but I might give it another go. My No1 is still Night Watch (2004) and the sequel Day Watch (2006) 👍 big budget “Russian fairy tale with vampires” labeled as horror but it’s not.
Two out of three ain't bad. Couldn't finish viewing "Jupiter Ascending". The problem with "John Carter of Mars" is that it came too late, people were kind of tired of Spaces Operas, but is a really good movie
Thank you for the Raycon recommendation! My wife and I ordered a pair each for our honeymoon and we saved about $40 ! We will let you know how they work! Thanks again and I love your movie recommendations!
So glad this channel exists. I check in every month or so when I’ve run out of movies that look appealing at first glance but I always know I’m missing out on some great stuff. Your insight is much appreciated my friend
As always, I appreciate your ability to mine for hidden gems. There are also some pretty entertaining sci-fi Netflix originals that seem to get very little attention. Anon and What Happened to Monday coming to mind.
Always been a dream of mine to be a movie critic but could never afford to go to school for it to get work, I think it's so cool and inspiring how you have done this successfully. A lot of hard work. Congratulations! I'd make a UA-cam channel too, but you kill it to hard. No point
Hi! I have been following your channel for a bit. I had my back reconstructed and suffered an anoxic injury while intubated. I watch a lot of movies. I really don’t listen or watch content about movies, because they are bleh. But your choices are spot on. Thank you! Also I know it has been a minute, but the beard, the hair, you glowed up nicely. 🫶🏻🎥🎞️📽️
Thanks Darren! I was in dire need of a suggestion today and you've given me MANY! What to watch first is my dilemma now, but I think I'll start with Riddick. ☺️
Great list as always! I've never seen Riddick but have seen the rest of the other Chronicles movies and loved them. Definitely worth checking out. Thanks!
Been on the fence about The Big 4...but as a massive fan of Headshot and The Night Comes For Us I think Darren has has just provided that confirmation for me that this may be up my street. Much appreciated Darren 👌
I really enjoy your recommendations! They also help me save a lot of time from endlessly scrolling. And we have very similar tastes in movies as well, which is always a plus 😂. BTW, I’m loving your Army of Darkness t-shirt! If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get it? I need that shirt!
Hé man, thanks for all the info 👍🏼 it makes things easier 🎥 I want to ask you if its possible for you to do a Netflix/ HBO ‘4k best movies’ review? Would be appreciated 😋 The Netherlands ✌🏼
Thank you for recommending movies that I should look for on the pay channels. I find navigating the channels less daunting when I know what I'm looking for.
You're right. I have crippling agoraphobia and have trouble leaving my house. Thanks for calling me out and making light of a serious mental health problem. You should be very proud of yourself!
Dude! I think you were spot on with Riddick. I am surprised I hadn't seen it before. I've seen the first ones and liked them a lot. Yeah, loved it and really liked the scene when everybody went like, you know, who is the Man. Mr. Badass. Thanks.
I love watching some of the foreign films on Netflix with English dubbing. That's how I got into watching many of the Korean and Japanese shows I like.
Riddick was the movie that made me think the Dave Bautista was going to be a legitimate actor. He played his role extremely well, especially since it was early in his acting career.
Hi I am a recent subscriber, and I love the content. I was wondering if you ever saw a movie, maybe Japanese, idk, I'm not really sure of the name, it could be ,lost, or the island? it's about a businessman who jumps off a bridge, ends up living on an island, do you have any answers for me. I've been looking for awhile, any help would be appreciated, once again I love your stuff, thx Dan
There are two films that I thought were really great but they disappeared. "Blood Simple" is really good but it doesn't appear anywhere. The greatest zombie movie ever made is "Rabid" because it's hot, but it fell out of sight.
Hi Daaren... I remember once you mentioned an old Charlie theron movie.. in which a child claimed to be his husband... What was was the name of that movie.. I m not able to recall which video was that of yours...
I love S. Craig Zahler but be warned, his movies are not for the faint of heart. They are pretty based and ultra-violent, but worth it if you can handle them. Dragged Across Concrete is a double entendre for the action and how you feel after seeing it.
I've taken notice even Hindi-Bollywood India movie industry have been stepping their game up in the action-themed film genre thanks to Netflix it's interesting Darren Van Dam has came across foreign made Spain, South Korea, Norwegian, Australian must-see movies etc; but somehow steers away from several underrated Indian subtitled/dubbed action, not only here but on the other flick connection "Hidden Gems" recommendation segments .. 🤨🤔🧐😕

I went blind into "The Stranger" and was totally absorbed. Didn't realize that this was likely a true story until about 10 minutes left.
Just poped in to say i am born and raised in Narvik, and my grandfather fought in that battle
My wife and I have lived on your recommendations for years for our Friday/Saturday night entertainment schedules. You never disappoint, man. Thank you!
Oh i have narvik on my list so I was happy to hear your review before I jump in THANK YOU ! love your channel !

Chronicles of Riddick is also No1 for me, have watched about 7 times, No.2 being pitch black, and Riddick was just rubbish story & cgi.
I remember being disappointed with Riddick (2013) as well, but I might give it another go. My No1 is still Night Watch (2004) and the sequel Day Watch (2006) 👍 big budget “Russian fairy tale with vampires” labeled as horror but it’s not.

Dragged Across Concrete was awesome, loved it.
Wow, good call on Beckett. I never knew it existed because Netflix never advertised..
GREAT CALL!!!
The Stranger really drew me in. Superb
foreign films and series are a large part of my Netflix streaming these days
My husband and I love your videos we always have fun watching the movies you suggest right now four movies down from your UA-cam video...keep it up ❤
Completely agree. Dragged across concrete was under rated and I think everyone let it slip by. Thanks for the video DVD
The story of the banker girl broke my fucking heart. What a sick thing for Zahler to do...and that's why I love his movies.
That was a true wtf moment....good call out Mike
Love that you've notice Javier Gutiérrez is great actor (even though I haven't seen "Below Zero" yet) ❤
I appreciate the descriptions. When I hear "blood and guts effects", I know it is not for me.
Thanks Darren, happy st Patrick’s day!

some solid choices thanks for the suggestions

I do too but they could get way better vocal actors for the most part. There's so many shows and movies that I want to watch but can't
Great recommendations as always !!!!!!!!!!! Beckett looks like a good watch .
Narvik excellent, watched last week on your recommendation 👍🏻
Great list but can you let me know where you got your ED t-shirt?
I just watched The Big 4 and loved it! I hope we get a sequel. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks Darren !!! ❤❤❤
The Stranger was terrific. Thank you.
I enjoy the movie recommendations. I was wondering any recommendations on the best movies in audio describe on Netflix or other platforms?
Riddick was the movie that made me think the Dave Bautista was going to be a legitimate actor. He played his role extremely well, especially since it was early in his acting career.
I do think, unless I'm forgetting someone, that he's the most talented wrestler-turned-actor out there. Best at acting, I mean
He's way better than the Rock
I'm a big Tarantino fan and I also loved Dragged Across... the dialogue is really smart and edgy.
It would be helpful to add titles and links so one can quickly add the movie to ones queue. Thank you for your recommendations.
he said the links are in the top pinned comment
Man I sooooooo look forward to your reviews & commentary. 👍🏻
The Baztan Trilogy was pretty good. Spanish movies but dubbed into English. I'm always willing to give dubbed movies/series a go since DARK.
good recommendations... keep it comin !

The Stranger was fantastic, definitely worth a watch.

"Dragged across concrete" is a fantastic movie.

Love your movie videos, please can you do one for U.K Netflix. Regards Lynda
The Stranger is my pic of the bunch, RIP little Daniel
Loved the Pirates movie! Good choice!
Riddick does feel a little low budget but it’s awesome.
South Korean films tend to be very good.
Ty abt the for the dubbed stuffed...i really need dubbed as i cant read fast enough for dubbed movies....especially french and alot of asien languages

The Pirates is rated only 6.1 on IMDB.
"hidden gems". Not underrated.

Operation Finale and Narvik: Hitler's First Defeat, are superb movies....
I can't find half of these things, even with my VPN on the US or the UK. Riddick for example!?

Beckett felt like a Denzel Washington movie from the 90s. I think his son was paying homage to him in Beckett.
