    I'm closing on the sale of my house the 30th and purchased a pre owned 5th wheel for full time living. I've lived in a rv several times in the past (ex worked in the oilfield) & I am super excited to get out from under all this debt! My pups & I begin our new adventure in less than 2 weeks! I'm Looking to buy a travel trailer in the next couple of months and planning on going full time. I'm a single guy, 40 and my kids are 18 and 21 so I'll be doing this solo. I'm just curious how it is for the people that do the RV life solo, like is it much harder to get things done without an extra pair of hands, or is it pretty decent out there on the road for us solo people. I don't really know anyone that does the RV thing full time and most videos are couples and/or families so any insight on any aspect of the solo RV life would be appreciated! Great videos, you have a new subscriber! Keep up the good work!

    • @ChenzosWorld
      @ChenzosWorld  Рік тому +1

      Hey Chris that’s a great question. I just moved to a new park today so the experience is fresh on my mind. I will say the process of hitching up/moving and hooking up at a new site is way easier with an extra set of hands… when I was vacationing with my wife, we learned to RV together and developed a checklist so things went smooth. Having a spotter when your hitching up and when you’re backing into a site is really convenient. Without a spotter, I have to get in and out of my truck several times to line up the hitch. I also don’t have automatic tow mirrors. So I have to get out and adjust the passenger mirror manually. It’s also nice having a spotter to check your lights. With all that being said, you can totally manage those things on your own it just takes extra time and I usually ask for help from a neighbor if I need it . RV neighbors are usually really cool and willing to lend a hand. To wrap it up, I’ll say an extra set of hands is a nice luxury but you can totally do it solo and still have an awesome time 😎🤟

    What do you do for work? Also what truck is best for pulling camper?

    • @ChenzosWorld
      @ChenzosWorld  Рік тому +3

      I’m a respiratory Therapist.
      The tow vehicle depends on the camper.
      I would determine how big of a camper you want first. Then find a truck with a tow rating/ payload capacity that comfortably exceeds that campers weight.
      For example, my truck can tow 8K lbs and my camper weighs about 6K. However, I’m not an expert on the subject. I watched a ton of videos by Big Truck Big RV to educate myself on towing info. That’s a great place to start. Hope this helps!

    Way to completely forget about the “I’ll mention that later in the video part” cause you know I would like to know about the reason you feel your truck is too lite

    • @ChenzosWorld
      @ChenzosWorld  Рік тому +1

      I decided to cover that in a separate video after getting more towing experience. That’s why I included the caption “ * in a later video”. At the time of the video, I had only towed on flat areas in Texas. So I wanted to tow through elevation before giving my opinion. I’ve been traveling through Arizona more recently and took a route through mountains in Tonto national forest.
      The truck towed extremely well. I also cut my payload down by decreasing passengers and traveling alone.
      The reason I felt my truck was too light is because I didn’t have a very big margin of safety. I’m at the edge of my trucks payload capabilities leaving little room for error or miscalculation.
      As a relative newbie, I’d have been more comfortable in a larger truck where I would have a bit more wiggle room in terms of weight. But to give the truck it’s credit, it has performed well so far.

      Hey thanks for the invite! I’ll make it out to pearland eventually but I’m currently living in Mesa AZ. I made a video titled “ my top 5 mtb trails in San Antonio”. You should check it out. You can’t go wrong with riding and exploring Leon creek greenway or McAllister park. Enjoy your time in SA! 🤟

    • @ChenzosWorld
      @ChenzosWorld  2 роки тому +1

      Hey that’s not a bad idea. Resorts like these have everything an apartment complex would, but for a better price. A duango can pull a trailer but it would probably be quite a bit smaller than this one. I’m too new at this to give towing advice but I used the channel BigTruckBigRV as a resource for towing recommendations. There’s also a sticker inside your door panel that shows your towing and weight ratings

    I looked at the Rv park in Houston before but it's more of a resort type place, not full-time living. For the price, you can get an apartment or rent a private room in a house. I rented nearby there around Hillebrenner for $500/month in a bedroom of a 3 bedroom house that the owners decided to use as an investment property. So I had the laundry room, kitchen, shared bathroom and all that stuff for less than $700/month. Couldn't take much with me that wouldn't fit in a 5×10 storage unit but neither can motorhome living. Gotta pack light. I was really interested in Rabbit Hill Rentals before I moved out to
    the other side of Houston, but they are also $700-$800/mo but you're getting an entire private cabin by the lake.
