Many thanks great demonstration. Am doing up my late Dad’s 46 year old Scott Bonnar so your videos have been a great help.

    Hi
Woodruff keys rarely need replacing. Only if the key is badly worn or damaged.
In situations like you had here, SOMETIMES swapping woodruff keys between shafts can assist in easing the installation.
Occasionally, woodruff keys have sharp upper edges that "bind" with the inner corners of the keyway. Removing these sharp edges improve the ease of installation.

Nice work mate. So, looks like you painted the gears?

Pretty cool idea. You haven’t cut any corners with the restore so well done. I’m nearly ready to paint mine and then reassemble. Fingers crossed it goes as smoothly as yours lol

I have just acquired one of these. It has been done up by the previous owner. However, the chain that drives the rear drum from the clutch is very loose and the chain the drives the clutch from the reel is tight.
What has happened here? Has he fitted the wrong chain?
It really looks like I need to take a link out to make it fit.
