As someone who was born and raised in Georgia, those of us who were kids in the late 90s early 2000s, we went to A LOT of Morris Brown games. And im just not hearing a MBC/GAMB similarity. To me GAMB sounds like a very polished SWAC school.
Same, I grew up going to mbc games in the mid 90's through 02 and GAMB sounds nothing like MBC, only solid similarity they have is being from GA.

Been patiently waiting for this lol! Shouts to all bands and the great hospitality in the N.O.. But I'm glad to see Gamb went and handled business.
Yooo KB told ya we was gonna be ready for everyone!!! When we got down there honestly we thought it was going to be a really close battle. We never thought. NOSAB would mess up as much as they did. I said it before and I’ll say it again NOSAB need to do auditions and improve their book. You would think after over the several years they would have something to counter our Anime/technical pieces. Welp… Lastly NOSAB 3rd Trombones and Tuba sections need to get in THE CUT for all those blatant F ups.
They too stubborn to do so… even if what they are playing is great, it don’t match what’s being played. So either way, even if they were spectacular, it didn’t over come what gamb did.
Yall weird NOASB has set the bar summer after summer if you like what Gamb does better say that we played plenty different Genres yall be in the comments saying anything Gamb won the stands but us NOASB wasn’t far behind they won off execution
They made less mistakes wasn’t the book that cost us was we made more mistakes and they made less
@@bandjesus5047 If that's the only reason why you thank GAMB won than you must be deaf, and your bias is showing a little too much lol. I was there at the event. Its wasn't even close, Noasb crowd was quite by the end of the night. It wasn't just execution, it was balance, tone, arrangements, musicianship, energy, etc..

@@bandjesus5047 Nahhhh bruh. We (because I'm from the city) took a L. The first round was cool. The advantage of going first in a battle is that the other band has to match the energy...right? They came with a technical piece (round 2). We reply with Drowning....no bruh. Neither band executed to protection if we're being honest but WE had more mistakes than they did and their pen game is better than ours. 🤷
@@stewieproductions4604we played last I’m not debating an L or W bro I’m saying you really ODing what happened Gamb was better but we most definitely aren’t lacking arrangements we played our round and turn. Great job Gamb if you can arrange hot cross buns for us how can you talk arrangements.
GANB is the most musical group your have profiled this summer. I’m so tired of over blowing half and whole notes.
I believe gamb won. But the fact you said musical in reference to the notes being played is ignorant. You do know if you’re speaking on a tune being written/arranged is where it becomes technical not the songs that’s being played.

Drowning was played for the dance team it was 5 band there and Maab dance team came over so we played drowning for our dance team.

Just realized why you are essential for this sport we call band. Call it. My city of NOLA is full of the best in the WORLD, but so is GAMB, Memphis, Mississippi, Texas, etc. I expect this thing to get real technical in these coming years.

Bruh! GAMB swept them up with a good eclectic book. NOLA did not rep Louisiana to they fullest but they can come back. Both bands sound great but GAMB came in more conditioned! IMO
In the 5th round we (gamb) played type sh*t by metro boomin and nola played I know by Travis Scott
NOLA needs to get back to their roots. Hardcore smash mouth arrangements. They had awesome players. But some arrangements lacked intensity. Could have played arrangements by Earth Wind and Fire, Eddie Levert or Patti Labelle, and easily walked away with a W. Throw That NOLA gumbo flavor in the mix. Incorporate jazz meshed into some arrangements with a bounce beat. Make everyone react to your arrangements. Nola got to be more creative. Be the band mecca of leaders and reset the standards to a platinum/diamond level and apply
the pressure for 2025.

22:00 I think they need to start having the drumline battles for b4 or after the actual battle, preferably before. It will save alot of time and from what I seen from most battles, they usually go kinda downhill for some after the drumline battles.

I think yall are thinking the stand battle was against no and GAMB it wasn't there was 3 band across from the two large bands. It was a shit show. The first two songs was but the rest was a shit show.
