I'd love to rent backpacking gear, but I don't think Oregon REIs offer that. 😢

Shame on everyone...we know this isn't Miranda. Let's give Bennett a chance to show what she can do. Hard enough without a bunch of keyboard pirates bringing her down.

it is confusing indeed. like they cast someone with a completely different personality and then tried to dress her up as miranda. but a more "spicy" miranda. but then they failed, because of the editing, we really get to see nothing of her personality. every time i think, now she is talking about her experience, they cut her off and move to the next point. it is confusing to the point that all comments but one here are about her and not about hiking. it does not feel authentic.

    Way too much...
Just take what you need for the time you intend to be out and go!
Too many people are concerned with the "what, where, when" that they never go out and do something...
Trust me, any destination you go to outside does not care about some permits or who the owner of the land is as long as you stay respectful and clean of your surroundings and others.
    Just Go and enjoy serenity!

I would say it's pretty important to know if there is a permit required. I'm not sure where you are, but I know around here, EVERY state or National park has a park fee. SMNP now requires parking passes at EVERY parking spot in the park. (that's a lot of area and lots of spots) You could end up with some fines and charges depending and how is it fair that you don't pay for your spot? Yes, go out there, but do check to see if you need a permit and get one if required. It only takes a moment to do what's right.

@@echo6echo419 then it should be available to get that permit at your destination and not needing to book it in advance...

@@Shishou_Shi You can a most of the parks where I am, but it's impractical for places like SMNP. There are thousands (probably 10s of thousands) of parking spots. They'd have to have so many people passing them out, you won't be able to afford a pass to pay for all of them. To be fair though, you can get one pass for a day and park anywhere in the place all day.
