    Lyrics:
Way back in 45 - when the first atom bomb came alive
In no time they opened the door - more power than were ever seen before
Choose a city where thousands could die - show the
World what would happen if the atom bombs fly
Told the west you have no fear - this bomb will keep the peace for 40 years
But then H-bombs came along - sounded like thunder the weatherman was wrong
White dust flew across the shore - they've never seen
    Snow in the pacific before
Will there be - will there be a world
Will there be a world in 40 years
The last point I find so strange - a theory of the limited nuclear SG
Forget the battle you won before - there aint no winners in a nuclear war
Will the song remain the same - will you keep on play
the game - so you can justify your careers - will
there be a world in 40 years
Will there be - will there be a world
Will there be a world in 40 years
Will there be a world in 40 years
Will there be a world in 40 years
Way back in 45 - when the first atom bomb came alive
    40 years, 40 years
White dust flew across the shore - they've never seen
    snow in the pacific before
    40 years, 40 years

How is it that I've looked up this guy's music for the last near 20 years, and I'm STILL finding music of his that I've never heard before?

Paul is known to be the Vocalist of the song back in 1988. He was later the vocalist of one song called “Are You Ready (Do The Bus Stop)” a year later.

I think this song will never lose its meaning, whether it's "19", "40 Years", "Two Tribes" (Frankie goes to Hollywood), "War"(Frankie goes to Hollywood) and many more... Me I like them not only because of the incomparable, timeless milestones they present, but above all because of what they advocate, which is that wars, whether of religion, land or resources, have only one result in the end, next annihilation of mankind, should it not free itself from those power constructs beforehand! - as Paul Hardcastle says: "Will there be a world in 40 Years"...
    Original :
- wie Paul Hardcastle sagt: "Will there be a world in 40 Years"...

(Logan-5) In October of 1961, the Russians detonated the most powerful nuclear weapon ever built. It was named "Tsar Bomba" . The blast of the explosion had a nuclear yield of over 50 Megatons,(1 Megaton is equal to the detonation of 1,000,000 tons of TNT) . Both Little Boy and Fat Man each had only 15-17 Kilotons ( 1 Kiloton is equal to the detonation of 1,000 tons of TNT) , Little Boy and Fat Man were detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Tsar Bomba was the first and last time that a nuclear device that large was ever detonated.

This track is from 1988 and I what recently told by a lady 16 years younger than my age that she doesn't care about what happened 26 years ago, she wants to live now. Well this song 35 years old song is as actual as it was when it was released. Ignore what older folks can bring you, fine, but I can tell one thing to your dumbed down generation; is that those ignoring history are condemned to repeat it.

So watching this video, there are a lot of things for me to unpack here. Numero uno is why is that I am just now hearing about this song? Numero dos, this video / song is great but cheesy to a certainly level...it seems like a song that would have been show in elementary school in the 80s like the little diddies that tried to keep us off drugs or something. On a more serious note, from 1945 to 1985 was 40 years, I know this song was written in 88, but still that tameframe of "the next 40 years is now upon us...in two years it will be 2025, which will be 40 from 1985 and 40 years from when the song was written, will be 2028. So that's 3-5 more years. Look at the shape we are in in our world now. The cold war has been resurrected and now we also have China to contend with. Definitely makes one think!
Most songs that dealt with nuclear war back in the 80s, dealt with it in symbolic and abstract terms but not very hard to figure out, but this deals with it head on without leaving any room for guessing or alternate interpretations. It just puts it all right there in your face. Think Land of Confusion, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, It's a Mistake, etc as compared to this.

Especially if your body burns by 10000 celsius any dance more interesting.

A rehash of 19 but lacking the impact. 19 was revolutionary, this comes over as one trick pony territory. And only Mel Brooks could pull off clothes like that.

Cool song, but a pretty cheesy video. Paul strutting around in his leather jacket, singing and dancing with atom bombs going off in the background. The “19” video was much more respectful of its subject matter.
