- We’ve all had to play on a bad team as least once in our airsoft life. This is normally standard for pickup and other casual airsoft games. To be on an extremely bad team at a milsim event though, is a rare occurrence.

DesertFox Airsoft is an Airsoft UA-cam channel dedicated to promoting the safe, fun and unique game of airsoft. Airsoft is a military simulation sport where players participate in mock battles with replica guns and use military type tactics. Unlike paintball, airsoft uses 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic.

I was like, maybe the organization is just so bad that 2 NATO squads encounter and shot eachother.
Most of Jet's "RUSFOR" kits aren't kosher at all. I mean he was wearing an Opscore with Spectre Camo and shit. What's the point of going to a MilSim when there are people dressed up in unrealistic kits? I know they were Militia but c'mon I doubt a Militia would have access to Opscores and Spectre.

Milita in the Caucuses have access to Multicam, UCP, and many different Western and Eastern European styles of camoflauge, along with Western combat vests from Russia, UK, and NATO. I wouldn't be surprised some Militia actually ordered their own personal gear off of Amazon, you'd be surprised what Militia find off of dead bodies and surplus stores in Eastern Europe.
Based off of the conflict in Ukraine.
But in this Milsim, Jeff is playing as Russian special forces, who ussually have access to more Western and expensive gear.

Me honestly not the best airsofter. Sometimes good days I get kills and some I just get nuked. But to me I just like playing airsoft. Good exercise and being active and escaping reality just for a bit is good enough for me. Plus meeting new friends and people. Hope you and your family staying safe jet. I was on the nato side in this battle and a pretty good amount of our guys knew good tactics but also talking to our guys a lot of our guys were new players, and our commanders would really always send in like three squads to go in for a full assault, and as my squad was a bit more experienced we would be telling guys to spread out so we’re not clumped which no one would so, they kept staying huddled in a tight ball which caused us a lot of battles, and also u guys did have like 40 more guys than us so we were pretty outnumbered

So the dude with the AK, is je just firing only blanks? Or is it an airsoft fun too? Like o couldn't imagine just only firing blanks an entire match not getting to shoot anyone
They can also be used as a form of suppression or in some ways a kill. The way it works is that if you see a dude pointing a guy firing blanks right at you then you have to take cover or what not. But it’s mainly for cinematics
@@patrickbeebe2792 You're wrong on both accounts dog. Milsim west doesn't hire people to shoot blanks, as long as you're 21 and you get cleared by the admins anyone can shoot blanks. And has a guy brought a blankfire gun and an airsoft gun before? Maybe. But guys aren't bringing both guns and ditching one at a fob for bb guns because a blank fire gun is usually a real firearm with a BFA. MSW events dont have traditional FOBs where you can regularly return to them to replenish and the other team cant get to them. You can raid FOBs at MSW and you may never return to it all weekend, you wont leave a firearm unattended like that.

milsim west allows blank fire guns but the rules with them are extremely strict
According to TACSOP, they can only use blanks outdoors and are permitted to bring a backup “replica” (airsoft) gun because if their unit goes into a building they either have to stay outside or they switch to airsoft. I would guess it’s more practical and fun to bring an airsoft gun too instead of being stuck outside
This was basically RUSFOR/REGFOR at the last Saratov. They would attack with a squad up hill against a well dug in NATO plt. They did that maybe 2-3 times with the same result each time.
but then didnt they just chill on top of a hill and not assault the city (the objective) on the last day and got wiped before ENDEX...?
Striker WCC Oh hell yeah! It was beautiful! My squad mate and I almost got trampled by a herd of cows pushing up that hill to kill them all, but it was worth it! (They also lost the city within a few hours the first night and couldn’t gain ground the rest of the weekend)

Jet: hiding his grenades in his soup Tupperware so that if he gets searched, the enemy team overlooks it and he can frag em.
I haven't gotten to play airsoft yet (hope to get into it as a hobby atleast), so I'm in no real place to say something sucks...
But when Jet starts off with footage of NATO on an exposed hillside being surrounded...
I hope you get into it and have fun. The upfront price for airsoft is expensive, but once you get into it and have gear all you really have to play is the price to get into the games. A good starter rifle is around $100-$200. I would recommend looking up a field near you and then playing there using their rentals to see if you like playing or not. I don't think you've been shot yet, but I usually equate it to new players as by being stung by a bee or wasp. It stings a tiny bit and then goes away, but it depends where you get hit on how much it hurts. Head hurts of course, neck, and thigh, mostly the inner part hurts the worst in my opinion. Fingers also suck too
I just recently started airsoft and I can say Food is fairly accurate on the being shot aspect. It really isnt too bad being shot and I jumped in feet first coming from paintball
although you don't exactly need a field to go to, I just play with a bunch of my friends in a patch of woods.

Just do what I did and ask a local farmer with some trees that's is in a safe place to setup a private field that you and mates can play at

Shortly before quarantine had started my love for airsoft was dying. after watching this video u inspired me to get back into airsoft. thx so much jet, and hang in there during the pandemic :)
As a milsim player in a milsim group I must say that most of the time we do well during games, especially milsim games.
But I do remember a few games when we were destroyed by the opfor, we got wrecked most of the time because we only played semi-auto while other players would not hesitate to spray a wall of bb's at us. All in all airsoft isn't a fair game most of the time would it be because teams are unbalanced as fuck or because some put more money in their guns than others.
Our team didn't have that much money to put in airsoft so when we got against groups of guys with Systema PTW we couldn't do shit because our bb's wouldn't even reach them. I remember those times with frustration I must admit, being gear limited is harsh
10:55 honestly you don’t really see just how good the right camo for the job is till you actually don’t even realize that those were pants. They blend in so well with the ground right there.
A couple buddies of mine went to this event and from what I've been told, it was a total shit show on the NATO side, bad leadership, bad players, and according to them the Russian side was better armed and had more people. (I didn't go so I can't say for sure)

What mags were you using.
I’ve been using MAG brand mid caps. And they have a weird tendency to eject BBs on me when I put them in my mag pouches.
Like the force of inserting them and keeping the BBs facing down seems to be enough to shoot outs of the mag

10:41 Idk why I found that dudes death so funny, but It was.
I was on the nato team and part of the squad that actually flanked them. Our commanders dint care and we had 50 guy leave the light befor. So the video is the last fight of the game and we were tired and out tuned by at least 40 guys. Our comander also was new to milsim and had no idea where to send us. So we always ended up in small groups heading out and being told to separate. It was the worst airsoft experience I've ever had. Our squad had 35 guys to start. Last day we had 10 and by the last battle 6. Died 15 times walked 20 miles back and forth to spawn and ended up getting shot my desert fox at the one battle I was doing good. It sucked. But nice head shot man.
Also one this is we dint know our squads till we got there. Really they told us to line up in squads and half the team was unsure what squad they wanted us in.
Colin Carnevale Keep trying milsim west. You just had a sever lack of experienced players or NATO teams. Experienced teams being TFM, GROMmets etc. RusFor usually has some pretty crazy players that take gear and fitness seriously so they’re very experienced as well.
@@sergystraystar9135 ya two thing I took away. Dont do milsim in winter. Only summer. And dont go to places with no buildings. Clearing houses is more fun in airsoft then emptying mags trying to hit some one 100 yards away. Other than that I would try it again but definitely at a base not an open feild.

What kind of BB's are used in these events (I'm not talking weight)? Since it's outdoors, are yous required to use Bio-degradable?
This is Hill 559 in Clovis, Ca. They don't require bio bbs. It all depends on the field rules

@@Camthegamer100 Bio BB are a scam. You are paying more for a shitter BB. Bio BB don't even degrade. I have bio BB I can dig up in my yard which are still round and solid despite being there for over a decade. Not to mention, a BB is no less damaging to the environment than a pebble.

Pretty sure animals know what a pebble is, speaking of which some birds eat small pebbles to help break up food in their gullet... and with an airsoft bb that poses a risk due to being plastic and able to be digested (which isn't a good thing).

A good portion of rusfor spends thousands on their kits too. Lots of the Russians wearing leafy suits probably spent roughly 300-500 bucks alone on their gear.

I have a 20€ chest rig, 67€ gorkasuit 4, 77€ 6b47 helmet with a 13€ cover, 50€ goggles and 70€ (13+57€) glove setup, not very expensive gear but it is just what i need.
This video is old but the ambience is amazing. The shouting and yelling gives me Battlefield vibes. Making a russian loadout myself.

I had a bad pick up game recently, 18 total players (9v9) and of those, only 3 had their own gear (me and my 2 friends). 15 rentals including a stag do and a birthday party...

You ever consider putting a dust cover rail on that AK? I find side mounts add a little bit of extra weight and not a fan of the height over bore with certain optics
Thanks for this Jet. Because of this whole pandemic my local field hasnt been open. Ive been missing airsoft pretty bad considering I was just starting to really get into the sport and getting good at it and comfortable with it. Hopefully me and my buddy can start going back soon.

Participants at MSW are allowed to bring real guns, and fire blanks to add immersion, and extend the range at which the game is played.

at first I thought you were using a g7 scout from the titanfall universe but then I was like, "somethings wrong I can feel it"
Most of NATO were either new to airsoft or new to milsim west. There was a significantly larger rusfor presence and NATO had no armored vehicles; rusfor had an armored humvee with a turret. Road to kharkiv was just a bad first milsim experience to many because many were new to milsim west or new to airsoft completely and new to leadership positions. Still had a bunch of fun even though NATO was outnumbered.

If only those smooth hills existed in my time in the military. We had rocks perfect sized to break ur ankles and we met them every day for every training exercise and drill. I miss it.
