I know I'm very late, but I just found this and it's a lot of fun. My dad flew for United for 36 years - 1952-1988. He started on DC-3s and ended on DC-10s, and flew a lot of types in between, including the '6'. As a kid I rode on a few of them, and in 1963 was riding from Salt Lake City to San Francisco on one when I got bumped (employee pass and all that). The pilot was a friend of my dad's so I got to complete that part of the trip in the navigator's seat in the cockpit. For a 13-year-old that was a real blast.
I have found if the vintage propliner has a very good .AIR file you have to be gentle on take off that is not climb that fast. i found that out with the payware constellation i have in P3D I am guessing maybe this is the same. Anyway a very nice find there DerTebbers (:
Good looking plane. Too bad it seems to have bad flight dynamics. I have the Just Flight payware of the DC-6B and, though it is difficult to fly using full procedures, (allot of power management and pitch management), it does in fact quite nicely once you have it down.
DieKolkrabe Not quite. The DC-7 was designed with some very specific performance requirements and actually uses the wing from a DC-4. It was a completely new model and not derivative of the DC-6.
DerTebbers Ah so what I read and saw about it was a case of the people not doing research... Though I'm fairly sure, and I'll double check, that there's still DC-6 and DC-7s flying here as cargo planes...I know for sure there's Electras that do cargo runs.... I just love the sound of that era of planes...a Connie at full song, or a DC-6 at idle and powering up or an Electra flying past with the throttles open....it's magic. Today's jets all sound the same sadly. I miss the days when planes sounded diffferent....reminds me of something you said in an earlier video about telling planes apar by looks...
It's called the game, by allot of means, sucks. There's much that Giants needs to fix. He's not doing a Let's Play until fixes are made. He does live stream it on Twitch though.

you forgot vertical speed while talking :D
I think why you were crashing is cus you had the carb heaters off.

That is one of the issues with propliners. Does make them challenging, but also rewarding.

The reason you MIGHT have been stalling could have been why whey said it required the steam edition for some reason.
I always thought the DC-7 was basically a DC-6 with new engines....or was it a totally new design?
I never know what the difference is between them

It looks like a DC-4 on Viagara.
I just got FSX for steam, can anyone tell me how can i add mods to it?
+Issac1709HD There is a video on this playlist that shows you how.
What happen to farming simulator?

Stop trying to be interesting by pronouncing everything in French... it's St. Maarten and just Sabena as it's a flemish airline not a Wallonian one...
