This encounter lead to Rival Sons opening for Black Sabbath
Rival Sons are the best singing and playing group of today! There lyrics and awesome music are what my ears crave. It's about time, and to me they sound like Rival Sons not Led Zepplin which is another of my favorite groups. Thanks Rival Sons I have all of your CD's and I am waiting for the next CD so get to writing some more songs, Rival Sons are number 1!

I'm 46 years old and am saddened by what has become of rock... When I first heard RS I was bowled over. The same thing just happened when I listened to Biffy Clyro (terrible name - unbelievable band). I UNDERSTAND why Sharon and Ozzy were knocked sideways. Access to these phenomenal bands are limited because NO ONE IS PROMOTING THEM THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE PROMOTED... Both of these bands have a HUGE following outside the states. Inside the USA they are ignored. Sickening that these bands are not as well known as they should be...
+Stratline6 it is partly the decision of the band themselves. they dont want to be a part of this machinery. they are taking it slow, and effective. they have full control over their music, and what they do...and that is the way they want it....
but it is working.... yesterday Black Sabbath announced their final world tour, and guess who is support for the entire fuckin tour?

Now if I could devise a plan to break Biffy and Blackberry Smoke to the levels they should be - the world would be a better place.
There are a lot of bands not being promoted in the states and being well known and respected in europe ( think Jimi Hendrix) and the rest of the world cause of random reasons, but putting Biffy Clyro in the same breath with Rival Sons makes me believe you are one of the promoters of this band, cause they literally has nothing to do with the flavor that RS adds to Rock n Roll, Biffy is more alternative, and to be honest they have a pop element to their music that makes them escape Rock. Have you ever heard of Radio Moscow? :/
Se Bo, no I'm not a promoter, wish I was though. On that note, I would tell you that I caught Rival Sons in SF when they were out here in support of Sabbath. They did a one night show in a small venue (Regency Ballroom)... I can't tell you how disappointed I was. Musically, Mike, Scott, Dave and Todd were great... Jay, not so much. Apparently he was sick and couldn't perform some of the songs from the set - and he didn't really feel like engaging the crowd. They played for about 50 minutes (and they played Manifest Destiny which is a 12 minute jam - so Jay wouldn't have to sing). Tried to buy a shirt... They didn't bring any XLs (really?). With that said, Todd came out after the show to say hi and could not have been nicer. The vibe I got from the band was that they were a little disappointed with Jay. No encore, and he walked off the stage and didn't come back. I hope this was just a bad show, but I really felt like I got ripped off that night. Usually the live experience sells me on the band, but not this time. If they come back I may give them one more chance to get it right.
Stratline6 You dont have to hope, they (Jay) did had a bad day and therefor a bad Show. What the hell that can happen to anyone you just seemed to be there and caught that day or Moment. That does'nt mean nothing. I was refering to your comment talking about Biffy. All im saying is they might be great for what they do but they are not worth to mention around this guys. You should definitely give them one more Chance and go see them. You would love it. I strongly believe. ☺

Good point. In our experience, a lot of people here in LA don't know about this band. They're much more well-known in Europe than here. We've been supporting them since the beginning.
Seems to Me that they must've seen them & liked them enough to remember Todd, and Sharon's running off & then Grabbing Oz to let Him know that He was in R.S.
But that's just how that encounter struck Me.
Betcha I know who gets asked the next time Oz puts summat together.

Bothand Nether They had just seen them play for the first time just a few minutes before at the show. You'd be surprised by the number of people in LA who do not know about Rival Sons. It's only been in the last year that people here have become more aware of who they are. And that they're actually from here.

+vintagerockdotcom ....been into them for a while over here in England. One of the truly great up and coming Rock bands. They hark back to bands like Bad Company and Free and God knows we're short of bands that play that sort of classic Rock these days. The tour with Sabbath will hopefully put them were they belong !

This is the only band in my lifetime I have been excited about! Rock n Roll in its rawest form! I have been blessed to have seen them perform many times. They grabbed me in their clutches the first time I heard them and they have not let me go. I love Rival Sons ❤️
