If you think that Jeff and Annie's relationship is cute and complicated, just you wait for the Pierce and Abed compilation
Agreed, including lots of shots of them jumping rope together.
Something always brings me back to you
I second this motion
That montage of them... lol
Especially the stolen glances. They had too much chemistry
The moment Annie let her hair down, it was over
For Jeff and for the fandom
@@HectorTWE”We try not to sexualize Annie.”
Harmon explained that Jeff knows hes in love with Annie, but also knows he wouldnt be healthy for her to date, so constantly has to fight through his feelings because he cares for her so much. Its adorable.
When the movie airs, they will be meeting after 9-10 years.
Jeff is ~50 and Annie in her mid 30s. Their age gap doesn't look so bad now does it?
Annie has lived to her fullest (like how she describes in the last scene) and now is willing to settle down. Jeff has matured 'enough' and probably married in the meanwhile but divorced too (may or may not be his mistake).
When they meet again, the timing is not as bad :')
As I wrote this I realised how dreamy this is xD I don't think the movie will bring them together but this will remain my favourite ship out of all the sitcom couples.
@@mysteriousyogurtI think that after all these years, it's possible, they can at least give us that. I certainly don't see why they couldn't be together right now. If that doesn't happen, then the movie would be pretty much pointless and a waste of time. If they don't end up together in the movie, then I'll still just consider the series finale as the only end point that really matters
@@mysteriousyogurt I've always seen it this way: Jeff and Annie do love each other, but know that they aren't right for each other, at least not at this particular point in their lives. By the end of the series, Annie is focused on her career while Jeff is still figuring out his own life. By the time the movie airs, they will be at different points in their lives and the age gap will be somewhat smaller, but whether or not they'll get together depends on how much they've matured. Knowing their characters, I have a feeling Annie will have matured more than Jeff.
@@spookyspice596 As far as sitcom pairings go, they were pretty much perfect for each. The main reason they never got together before the end was because of Dan's own insecurities about women and relationships, and him continuing to infantilise Annie even in season 6. Rather than being true opposites, both are perceptive, intelligent and strongly independent characters, but they are both also deeply flawed who alone are easily controlled by insecurities and obsessions to the detriment of those around them. However they care deeply for each other and together cover each other flaws well and as a result both become better people. It's not a case of Jeff needing Annie to stop being broken, they both need each other to develop as people. Both see through each other's BS and will call the other out when they are being toxic, but at the same time both will rush to support & protect the other. Those of the hallmarks of a good couple; it's not about being perfect individuals, its about two people who love each other and become better people as a result. The gap of 11-12 years established in seasons 1-4 (not counting the BS retcon of Jeff’s age for a throwaway season 5 episode) is nothing for two mature adults, which is what they both were by season 6. That’s the season they should have been dating and if they had then they probably would have finished up there as a top 10 ever sitcom romance like Leslie and Ben or Andy and April from Parks&Rec.
I agree with this comment completely. Jeff fell on the sword of his love for Annie to protect her future. Therefore, he had to deny himself that love he so deeply felt for Annie. 16th Century Chivalry: The repetition of the lines ,“MiLady, MiLord” makes that a fact to me. In the movie they should get married towards the end and Jeff is killed by sacrificing his life for Annie and their unborn child.
Leonard and Magnitude's debate really IS one of the most important moments of Jeff and Annie's arc
“I care what you think about me” was such a big admission for them. It means so much more than just how they feel but their respect for the others’ opinion and the way they want to be important to the other 🥹
The best part of the "Stolen Looks" segment is that it was inspired by a fan video.
really? do you have a link? I need to see that :D
@@NicoleElliotit's called "Gravity (Jeff/Annie)", just put that into the search bar

Agreed, to the point that they made a Jannie shipping video Canon!
They have it with everybody!

I'm not lying, since the first episode I didn't see any chemistry between Jeff and Britta but watching the debate I was amazed at the chemistry and dynamic relationship between Jeff and Annie and yes I'm hoping that the movie could give me the ending that I'm waiting.

the stolen glances ontage never fails to kill me, its so stupid with the little zoom ins, i love it
it looks like all the montages you see on the internet when fans ship random characters and over romanticize anything
Also, how did you guys miss out on one of the best episodes ever, Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design, especially the part where she goes "off-script", and indirectly confesses her feelings for him.
I know!!! And the tent collapsing and both drawing closer together.
idk about interior design but the scenes from conspiracy theory arent our timeline sooo
@@faktaku. That's chaos theory not conspiracy theory. Conspiracy theory is in the original timeline.

The one you're speaking about is Remedial Chaos Theory.
Well guess what
ANNIE'S GOT A GUN
My lady ... my lord 🥺
Yes, I always loved that little running acknowledgement between them. 💖
That was probably my favourite thing between them. It was so cute 🥰
The ending their relationship got in the series finale was just perfect. Their chemistry was so fun to watch throughout the series, but I think Jeff's refusal to ever pursue a relationship with Annie is a sign right from the series' start that he is a better person than he thinks he is. It's a sign that he can put someone else's well-being ahead of his own wishes. I do think it's a little patronizing that the writing acts as though Annie needs to be protected from her own feelings for Jeff, but I think it's also clear that a big part of it is Jeff's understanding of his own shortcomings as a potential romantic partner for anyone. Letting her go off to start her life, not trying to tie her down: that's the sign that he truly did love her. Ugh. I love what the series did with their relationship.
I think these two just need to wait for the perfect timing when they are both perfect for each other in the timeline of their own lives. Sometimes even if you know the person is right for you and the chemistry and love is like nothing else, it might still be better in a long run to wait until the timing is right. Take Michael Scott and Holly Flax for example, they loved each other and they did this long run because that’s how you know it’s meant to be. Not saying this is always the case for true love but it might be for Jeff and Annie too…. I wouldn’t give up on them just yet :)
@@magicxspace5406a lot of things i've seen talking about the movie seem to point to a modern version, where all of the cast have aged accurately to how long it's been. if that is the case annie would be ~35 (mid thirties) and jeff in his late forties which is a not completely unreasonable age gap. and based on what annie says in the s6 finale it could be possible they get together, since she's been able to do everything she said, and is ready to settle.
Annie did need to be protected, by way more than just her feelings for Jeff. That was her character. That isn't patronizing at all. All of them had character flaws.
You forgot the part where Annie was like "I'm going for the professor look" and jeff was like "what?" and Annie was like "nothing". Jeff was dating Slater at the time.
“You look like a travel agent😅”
“Really? I was going for more of a professor thing😏”
“What, why?🤔”
“What?😳”
“Nothing😳”
Technically Jeff and Slater were broken up during this time, but you're not wrong.
What amuses me about that is that they had annie wear a purple bell sleeve top and then had slater wear one in the same shade the next episode to emphasise it. In the dvd extra features where they have the commentary (they’re all on UA-cam now) Alison knew and others knew but Dan was totally surprised when Alison pointed it out and he had planned on her looking even more like a travel agent (personally I think this way round actually worked amazingly)
BEST ROMANCE. the ONLY “problem” with their relationship was the age gap, but by the time community comes around Annie will be in her mid-thirties, so it doesn’t even matter
It's a little funny to watch the first episode, where Annie is depicted as an awkward nerd, and Britta as Jeff's main love interest and the attractive class bombshell. Somewhere along the line, they ended up swapping places!
Britta matured and Annie loosened up. :P
This video needs more "M'Lady, M'Lord".
The finale scene is so beautiful! Great writing and superbly performed
Alison has some subtle expression changes in it that are really impressive
I've just finished this show for the first time and omg am I so heartbroken that that I've finished it, such an amazing show on so many levels. Jeff and Annie's relationship is one of the most heartwarming relationships I've seen in a TV show in recent times. The Jeff speech at the end when Jeff says 'but the heart wants what it wants' killed me.
I recommend watching the last episode a 2nd time as there is a lot of subtle interaction that is easy to miss. This compilation left out some of the most important parts after the final room meeting kiss such as Annie’s happy smile as the group walks in, Annie commenting that they don’t know what will happen in the future, and their mutual body language during the final speeches that doesn’t indicate the heaviness displayed before the kiss. This wasn’t a sad ending for them but more that they were now open to each other about their feelings and that there may be a future for them together. In particular, the final airport scene is a key one for the Jeff&Annie story; while the Jeff & Abed farewell is the main focus, Jeff & Annies interactions here were also a hint of things to come. The airport kiss (which many people miss) was not one of saying farewell to a friend you may not see again, but more of a casual goodbye to someone close you know is coming back. There was a week between the room and airport scenes and while they may not have been a couple yet, the fact they kissed openly in front of Abed shows that their relationship had progressed beyond the “just friends” phase they were stuck in for most the show’s run.
@@dgmt1 I think I'm the only jeff/annie shipper that don't think they shared a kiss at the airport, to me Jeff clearly kiss her on the cheek lol
I really cant believe they tried to make Britta the partner for Jeff with this chemistry right there 😂
S1 Britta was a different person though lol. S2 mas still good imo but later on she became a caricature
Edit: What I meant is that on the early days Britta and Jeff actually had nice chemistry imo
The creators of the show confirms that Jeff wants to date Annie but knows it would be unhealthy for her
@@rafael-sx5go for chemistry?no
for character development?i like s2 britta onwards...
Yes, since the beginning I didn't feel any chemistry between those two and, it wasn't because Britta was a different character it was because the chemistry wasn't there, but during the debate, Jeff and Annie became my favorite 📺 couple ever.
Season one was all about finding the right chemistry. If you look back, they were setting up Pierce and Troy to become close friends.
community changed after season 1 from a classic sitcom format show to that phenomal series that we all loved. That is the reason that the love stories were left behind and we saw the crazy episodes that followed. Don't get me wrong, I was okay with that but in some way by watching their story making the whole circle in the series finale, i really feel that this love-story is probably the biggest missing series chemistry. Hope we will eventually see them together in the movie.
They’re so in synch, like a perfect duet!
or sEEE... hey professor Whitman
I really loved how Jeff and Annie's relationship evolved over time. They both matured in different ways, and fingers crossed that the movie will have them officially get together!
That's one of the things I like the most in the show, which made the finale so heartbreaking. The movie can make it happen!
Didn’t this channel also put out a “Britta and Jeff acting married” video? I totally ship Annie and Jeff, but I’m worried that calling this video their “complicated” story is hinting at the outcome for the movie.
It was always meant to be Jeff and Annie. I love them and I hope to see them as an established couple in the movie.
The "please" at 18:05 is just irresistable. The power of Annie at its full extent.
i was legit expecting pierce and abed's montage to be played
“I let you go with my hands…“ gets me every time. So damn heartfelt and romantic. JeffAnnie Forever!!!
We forgot where Dean switched bodies with Jeff
Yes. Annie kept crushing on the Dean, and when she realizes they had "switched" bodies, she is in shock, which was subtly shown.
The pratfall at 2:42 is phenomenal. The commitment and form are perfect
They have got to end up together in the movie
When it films in 2024, Jeff will be 50 and Annie 34, way more appropriate
damn they have a 16 yr age gap? i thought it was more like 10
@@todayiglowup4286originally it was 12 years but as the series continued they kept increasing it because harmon didn't want them to be together and since they had such great chemistry it was his way of stopping it.

Watching this video, makes me appreciate the attention to continuity the writers had in this show. Also, in my mind, Jeff and Annie did it all the time.
Love this. I genuinely loved their last kiss and I hope they find a way to be together in the movie.
My favorite ship of the show! I hope they finally fully accept their feelings and get to be happy together in the movie.
You like seeing a 30 yr old man sexualize a teenage girl? Your weird
Let me be, like, the 50th person at this school to ask, what is this, huh? What is this creepy business?
Its hilarious how, even in a Jeff and Annie scene, the Dean stole it 🤣
Jeff and Annie are a better love story than Twilight.
Pierce and Abed are a better love story than Twilight.
You set the bar too low
To be fair, they're also less of an age gap than Twilight
My last colonoscopy was a better love story than Twilight..
@@nyecrozier8663I mean if we look at how old vampire boy is supposed to be it's probably a lot larger
When Jeff looked in his heart Annie's face was there 6 times and her boobs were there 3 times. You can see that if you slow down to a quarter speed.
2:45 - Annie played Jeff's feelings just to win a college contest. Man is evil.
But then Jeff got kissed by Annie. Man is good.
I was low key rooting for them despite the original age gap cause I felt they had so much chemistry and since the show did feature her with Vaughn (and even Troy and Britta) I really did not take a major issue with their ages …. But then Harmon killed it with the GI Joe episode and the Jeff real age reveal 😢
6 seasons and a movie! It's happening! (Hopefully)
Idc i will always love this couple and hope the movie that might finally occur finally gives them an ending together 😭😭 in most timelines that they showed jeff and annie often ended up together
Season 6 did them dirty, esp with how season 5 ended. Hope the movie makes amends
Season 6 comedy wise was great, but the almost minimum interaction between them until the finale is why I don't exactly like season 6.
I hope Jeff and Britta have been divorced three times in the movie.
Honestly, I think that was intentional. Think about it, by that point there was barely any indication that Annie actually loved him still. The finale focused solely on Jeff's love for her.

Surely the movie finally makes them be together once and for all?

Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualise her.
And constantly fail
Please let them be together in the movie!!
Culturally it's unacceptable but it's theatrical dynamite!
It is absolutely NOT culturally unacceptable for an older man to date a younger woman. It is actually expected. But not the other way around. Double Standard Much?
Good one, Hector.
@@felicialightfoot2380 Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her.

@@felicialightfoot2380Jeff is old enough to be Annie's father, so naturally a lot of people aren't comfortable with it.
@felicialightfoot2380 for previous generations it was more "acceptable". The newer generations does not believe it is acceptable. Jeff is like Leonardo DiCaprio, except we don't know what will happen when Annie hits 25.
Maybe I think the word here is that it's more normalized for large age gaps to happen between an older guy with an older women and its a double standard when the other way around isn't accepted and in turn made into a whole spectacle (ex.MGK being like 7 years younger than Megan Fox articles)
At the end of the last episode, I thought, "At least now there'll be someone out there reading Jeff's tweets(other than the dean)"

The Annie of it all.
Their love story is beautiful 💗❤💕💝💖.
Jeff and Annie would be a couple except for their ages. They are the only couple 100% honest with each other. Abed is 100% with everyone in the group.

So good
we need the movie!
Best ship. She really trained herself a hot narcissist and she deserves to keep him 😂
Agreed 😂👌
Troy at 6:47 just gets me every damn time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think the saddest thing is that just like real people Jeff and Annie do like each other a lot but are to much in their own way to be happy. The age gap never really mattered to me after the first season just because of how much chemistry these characters had. I think Jeff would make a great father that would be there to support Annie and have his teaching job. While Annie would fulfill her dreams and pursue literally any career she wants while having the stability of Jeff to help her stay focused and also to cut loose from time to time. I hope this dynamic is shown in the movie because I can’t see these two characters being with anyone else.
Better than Troy and Britta, that relationship was just so random and I don’t know, didn’t have chemistry ever
Let's be real they lost a good opportunity by not including the real stolen glances back to back with the Gravity montage, like the ones they have in Cooperative Caligraphy and Origins of Vampire Mythology
Yeah but the whole point of the episode is to make fun of sitcoms that lazily do flashback episodes. I guess that them using some of the actual scenes in the episode still follows what they were doing, but having all the moments completely made up makes it so, so good

Neither. Jeff and Slater all day.
Britta & Jeff have unresolved childhood trauma and are too similar, they would be echo chambers of attention-seeking behavior and would only tear each other apart.
Annie is too innocent for Jeff and he would control the entirety of their relationship. She would grow to resent him since she is a budding independent who wants to share her life with somebody, not be dominated by another's personality.
That's just my terrible opinion, though.
@jeremywarren7424 fair opinion, though I disagree with the thought that Annie is too innocent for jeff. maybe in season 2 she was but I feel like by the end she had matured enough that the could have had an adult relationship without one lording over the other
Annie Jeff all the way

These are two of my favorite sitcom characters ever, and I think their relationship was handled to perfection. There was too much chemistry for a romantic relationship to be ignored entirely, but not enough sense for them to actually be together. I hope the movie will be a nice reunion for the group without ruining the ending the series finale gave to these two.
19:55 lip syncing mistake. They couldn’t sync lips together nor could the actors
I love that for a lighthearted comedy, the story of Jeff and Annie's relationship is rather bittersweet. I think they genuinely do love each other, they're just not right for each other.
The movie has to be about the darkest timeline. It would be stupid not to cash in on the whole multiverse madness. Plus it has been an ongoing theme on Community. No better way to pay it off than with a movie. Community the Movie - The Darkest Timeline!
After the S4 finale, I'd be happy for them to never mention the Darkest Timeline again. Plus it's established none of the high-concept scifi stuff in this show is real, it's all in the characters' (mostly Abed's) heads.
been thinking about the movie, and i'm not sure how Harmon will play things, but i don't think Jeff and Annie are going to end up together. in fact, i think that the movie might be a story about Jeff letting go of Annie and Greendale. the fact that so many people seem to think that her being "old enough" for Jeff feels like the kind of reasoning Jeff would have to try to pursue an old crush, as well as missing the point of the series finale. Annie joining the FBI is displaying how her character likes a little more adventure, she liked Greendale for its eccentricities and opportunities it gave her to grow as a person. Jeff, however, is someone who wants to settle down, to not be worried about what comes next, and likes Greendale because it gives him a sense of security that practicing law on his own never gave him. they are two different people, to the point even Jeff realizes in the finale "do you even know what i want?" in his fantasy of being with Annie, in that moment he comes to terms that he doesn't know Annie at all, besides some basic personality traits. (while mentally putting her in her season 1 outfit, signaling that he has an obsession of the point in time when she was more innocent and had her girl crush on him)
The movie, in my mind, will be about Jeff trying to stop the closure of Greendale, maybe even thinking that its a plot of City College to shut the place down. this would result in him trying to get the original Save Greendale committee together again to try and stop it. once it comes to light that its not a ploy of City College, Jeff would try to Winger Speech his way out of repercussions, which won't work. this would be when Jeff decides to let go of the past, and move on with his life, bettering himself either by getting hired as an actual professor of law or going back to legal work (but making it work). I think this movie will be Dan Harmon telling us that its time to move on from Community and these characters, hopefully giving us a more hopeful future for them in the end, but this is Harmon here and he doesn't really do "hopeful"
