Yes those out of true running collets can knock out the front motor bearing, also causing excess vibration through out the boat. Had a few of those collets my self out of China.
Good PSA and shop talk.. I actually just found the same thing after putting the little Cobra back together. It's a wire drive setup, so I think I may have bent the end tightening down 1 grub screw and not snugging the 2 together (my mistake). I don't like the vibration it makes on the bench either, but just have to keep an eye for screws backing out in the future 👍
The small things will keep you from reaching full speed. it is the last 5 MPH that is the hardest to get , that is where the little things make all the difference.
That is so weird bc I just tried my brand new one from zipp kits and It doesn't fit correctly. Absolute bad quality! I wouldn't have even checked if you did say it. Thanks bud!!

In china it's not so critical if collets aren't balanced because they don't go as fast as Americans 😮😅
