Me and Meg have finally returned and I look forward to sharing our new adventures and advice in woodland photography. I'm still building up my energy, so I've eased in gently with a very short wander in a challenging location. It's easy to feel pressurised into splashing out on expensive trips to go bigger and better, but after all these years I still love a simple local wander in whatever the weather has to offer. No matter what happens photographically, it's time well spent and this is often how my very best work begins. Tricky conditions in a new location is always a challenge but one I love because it's not necessarily about the images I make that day, but the experience of the unknown and the anticipation of what's to come. You can't beat it.

Nice to see you, and I totally understand you needed to take a break and then have something hit you, like being sick, etc... I Hope you're feeling better.
Love your work Simon glad to see you back and happy
Hi Simon. I am a big fan of your Woodland photography. Surely missed your and Meg's presence on UA-cam. I am happy that you are back.now. Take Care. God Bless.
Nice to see you back in the woods with the camera and Meg 😄 Beautiful photos again 😊
Great to see you back Simon … always enjoy your videos! I believe those grasses are sedges. Sedges, on closer examination, have 3 sided or triangular stems which sets them apart from regular grasses. The little ditty “Sedges have Edges” is an easy way to remember the difference. Again, welcome back, and all the best to you and Meg!
Welcome back Simon, a very inspirational video. Looking forward to some more you get better
Good to see you back where you belong Simon and Meg too, doing what you do best. Like the inclusion of flora and grasses amongst the trees bringing another dimension. Hope your health continues to improve, time really is an amazing healer...
Thank you very much, Angela 😊
Glad you are back and hope all is well. I can certainly understand. I enjoy your videos immensely the relaxing hall in the forest with a bit of depth in how to arrange a picture to please. My first picture I purchased was from you love it still.
Great to see you both back.
Good to see you and Meg back. Your videos are soothing and inspirational. Always make me feel like I want to go back to my local woods. I hope you're soon back to good health.
Glad to see you back and well
Hello Simon. Lovely photography. Keep well. Look forward to your next film. Regards
Hi Simon I'm soooo glad to see you . Thank for the video . The image I love is the first one ( and I loved the way you explain your work in post processing in your bonus video on KO-FI )
Hope a complete recovery and 'll wait for all the news .A caress to MEG!
Happy that you are back on UA-cam..... look foreward to moren.... all the best. Ron
Nice to see another video from you Simon, and in a way welcome back on UA-cam! I enjoyed this video, and your explanations of compositions. Looking forward to what you have ‘in store’ for us.
Great to see you again!
Hi Simon, good to see you back on the tube again, lovely images form this shoot.
Exactly the kind of photography experience that echoes my own reality. Including today. Sod epic - just go out and enjoy anyway, cos being in nature is itself a gift. Also glad to hear you've been doing what you need to do for yourself and your own health. Love the gentleness in the images. Lovely to see Meg playing in the water too. I smiled with that.
Nice to see you again.
Glad to see you back
Glad you’re back. Excellent video!
Sorry to hear you’ve not been well but glad you’re on the mend again. Great to see another video from you. I myself am doing less and less traditional landscape photography these days and much prefer to stay local and photograph the woodlands close to home. Your videos are a constant inspiration and a reminder that you don’t always need epic conditions. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you very much, Rick 😄
You're awesome, Simon
Welcome back Simon. Good to know you are on the mend. I have missed your blogs, they do inspire me to go out into the woods, but sadly yet I do not have your skills, but I am working on it.
Bonjour à vous, quel plaisir de vous retrouver 😊.
En France, cette fleur blanc crème, se nomme la "Reine des prés"! 😉
Good to see you again, inspiring as always! All the best for your health!
So happy you are back, missed your Videos and photography Tipps a lot. Stay well. Greeting from Salzburg in Austria
Mr Baxter doing what Mr Baxter does best !! Great to see you and Meg back Simon ! Hope you are feeling well and fully on the road to recovery. Totally concur on your thoughts re YT and the pressure to produce something unrealistically spectacular (one of there reasons I stopped my channel)....just keep doing what you emjoy
Great to see you back on YT Simon, I just purchased your Woodlands book and it's full of stunning photo's. I'm hoping it'll inspire me to get out in the woodland again 😁
Thank you very much for your support and kind words :)
A Great big welcome back Simon! You have been missed 😊
So good to have you back Simon. You certainly haven't lost your magic while you've been convalescing. Wishing you full recovery to the best of health and more woodland wanderings.

Great to see you and Megan back and glad you are feeling better. Excellent photos📷👍🏼
❤
Nice to see that your back in your heaven Simon, of the woodland plenty to discover. And Megs having a good blast about.
Take care.
Nice to see you back Simon, I’ve missed your videos. Pleased you’re on the mend.
Great to see you and Meg again! When there is to much green go Infrared. Just buy an infrared filter to try it first before going through the expense of converting a camera to Infrared.
Glad you’re back, we’ve missed you. It’s nice to see Meg again frolicking in the stream. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Take care.
Welcome back, Simon. Nice to see you and Meg out in the woods again. Great walkthrough of your composition rationale. Yes, Thomas Heaton has already teased a joint project with you. Sounds intriguing. Good health to you. Carry on. 🐈⬛ 👍🥂
Good to have you and Meg back. Sorry you have been unwell but hoping you are getting back to full health now, most important. You are excellent at explaining how you see and capture an image 👏
The Master returns! Being calm and real in a world that is loud and fake is hard to do. Keep creating 😊
great to see you back! All the best...
So nice to see you and Meg back in the woodland. Sorry to hear that you have been unwell but glad to hear you are on the mend. Your health comes first, we will be here when you are. Love watching Meg enjoying her streams. Thanks for sharing. Take care
What a joy to see you both back in the woods. Yours is one of the few photography vlogs I haven't unsubscribed from, after I myself gave up landscape photography due to an overdose of repetitive images. I'm slowly regaining my love for photography with my first analogic and a couple of rolls of film a month. Thank you and I wish you good health.
Many thanks and hope you continue your love of photography:)
Welcome, welcome back. Not only that you are back, but more so that you are well and recovering.
Welcome Back
Great to see you back Simon... looking forward to hearing the news when you are ready to announce it ....nice collection of images shared and lovely to see Meg having fun 😊
Sorry to hear you've ben under the weather, but glad to see you're feeling better and back at it! And good to see Meg too! ;-) Your videos always bring a smile to my face.
Thank you very much Tony. Hope you are well:-)
Hi Simon, nice to see you and Meg again on the tube. I've always liked your approach on woodland photography, as can be seen by the images you took at this session. Take your time to regain strength and do not get into the rat race of having to put out a video every week for us...... Very interested as what the project is going to be. Can't wait to find out. Regards, Ron.
Lovely video Simon! Glad you’re feeling better.
Can’t wait to hear your big news! 😊
Hehe, I think you know the big news already 😜
No problems waiting for you to be back, Simon. Thanks for the 617 club, too.
Glad to see you after all this time!!!! Great video and waiting for you news soon!
Simon, so good to see you and Meg back in the woods. You are one of the more interesting and thoughtful photographers on UA-cam - certainly an influence on me in that you got me into woodland photography, I shoot mostly locally and I like to embrace complex scenes rather than shy away from them.
Thank you very much and great to hear that you embrace the complexity of woodland :)
Welcome back Simon. It's good to see you again.
Simon, glad you are back and feeling better.
Always looki forward to seeing you work and the wonderful results.
Be well!
Nice to see you and Meg back in the woods, I think it's great to be out in a more ordinary woodland that looks a little bit more like the woods we photographs. Great photographs. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome back, Simon! Hope your health continues to improve, and looking forward to your next video!
Nice to see you back and motivated for some awesome woodland videos. A different approach in a different woodland area: nice to see how you make the best from every scene. Woodland in Germany is often different from North England. Knarly trees are really rare. I hope for more videos from you with Meg as co-author. Greetings from Bernd
Welcome back. Great video 👍🙂
So happy to see you back! I've missed watching your walks with Meg
It's great to see you and Meg back in the woodland. You are my main man when it comes to inspiring woodland photography. Glad to hear you are on the mend - wishing you a speedy recovery.
Much appreciated, Stephen! Thank you :)
Welcome back! And thank you again for Meg.
It’s wonderful having you and Meg back😊Missed your enthusiasm and content, but so glad to see you still standing, and hope you continue with better health. You could also try lightening the load in what seems to be a heavy backpack! Meg is obviously glad too, and it’s great to see her still intent on checking out smells and splashing in water. Love the images, so nice and green, compared to us here in Oz, with winter. Look forward to seeing more content from you. Take care!🇦🇺
Great eye for composition and you can explain so clearly what you are shooting and why. I love to hear your thought process. Will be watching closely for the next one. I also still love to look at and read Gathering Time book. It stays out all the time to enjoy. And so good to see Meg too!!! Thanks for the vlog!!
Thank you very much, Karen 😊
Good to see you back Simon. Great images and glad to hear you are on the mend :)
So glad to see you back & Meg as well. Looking forward to seeing more to inspire me to go to the New Forest near me.
Take care of yourself first and foremost. I've learned so much from you over the years; the most important being to really take in my surroundings and find joy in nature. Thank you Simon.
Lovely to see you again Simon. Wishing you good health (and put on some weight please!)
Really good to see you and Meg out in the woods again Simon. Looking forward to seeing more content in the future. In the meantime hope you continue back to full health/strength.
I’ve been missing you and your wonderful photography! I’m so happy your health is back on track and I’m looking forward to learning so much more from you! Thanks for taking me along!
Nice to see you back and I'm sorry to learn you've been unwell and I hope your recovery continues at pace. I love the 1st image, especially the version in rain. As ever, your narrative about composition is really helpful. It's good to see you back
Thank you very much, Tony! Hope you are well

So lovely to see the multitude of people expressing their delight, like mine, that you and Meg have returned. As many have also said, I am grateful how your work (images, videos, thoughts) has contributed to my growth as a photographer. Thanks!!
I must say that I'm quite overwhelmed as I feared I would have been forgotten about. It's wonderful to see. Many thanks!
As a (Belgian) woodland photographer (amateur) I'm glad to see you back. You have always motivated me!!!
It’s so nice to see you again, Simon and Meg, in your element! Your videos are a great source of inspiration - it’s so interesting to hear how you think when you create your masterpieces!
I was worried about you. Good for you taking a break.
So glad to see your back Simon & Meg, I’ve missed your videos. Glad to hear you’re on the mend.
Sorry to hear you've been unwell, hope you're well on the mend now. As always an excellent and inspiring video
Great to see you back Simon. Loving the more natural colours in these images, so refreshing from all the over saturated images we see these days.
Great to have you ( and Meg ) back Simon !
Welcome back!
Good to see once again buddy ❤
Much appreciated, thank you :)
Those wild flowers like meadowsweet have been phenomenal this year the lanes round here are full of it.
Hi Simon and Meg. It's so wonderful to see the two of you out and about. We've missed you. There is one frame where you can really see the love and devotion that Meg shows in her eyes. I think she is more excited to be out there than those of us desk-bound photographers. You've inspired me once again. I will keep a camera on my desk as a daily reminder that, as Wordsworth so aptly put it, "The world is too much with us". Looking forward to your next video.
Always a treat Simon, I love seeing Meg again. I'm glad you're back and well.
Great to see you both again. There is something very relaxing and peaceful to today's images. I think looking for the spectacular we over look the ordinary. Well done.
That's great to hear, Bruce. Many thanks 😊
Simon, welcome back and thanks for the inspiration, I’m recovering from a period of poor health and looking forward to getting back to landscape and woodland photography.
