I'm so glad Vegas finally got residents. Nursing in Vegas was a bitch before that..because no doc was in house when you needed them. Thanks for being here! Hope you get paid more! You deserve at least 100K
His hourly rate is worse than that. If he worked 144 hours in two weeks in any other field he'd be getting overtime after 40 hours each week. 80 hours would pay the regular normal rate, and the remaining 64 hours of the total 144 hours would be paid at a rate of a minimum of 1.5x (time and a half rate), more usually with a weekend premium (2x, 2.5x, or even 3x). But at the lowest rate of 1.5x, he'd get paid as if he worked 96 hours for that additional 64 actual hours (64 x 1.5 = 96). So his total hours paid would be 80 + 96 = 176. The high-end estimate of his after-tax, per-hour rate is $1,954.94/176 = *$11.10/hour.*
As a new resident who knows close to nothing about investing/retirement funds, etc, I would really appreciate the video you suggested about finance at 30:01. 🙏 Just trying to survive residency so far, would appreciate the financial guidance now that I’m finally making money.
What’s up man, I’m new to your UA-cam, channel, your friend Shaun has a great UA-cam channel, I tried to go to college to be a anesthesiologist but it was gonna be hard because of my cerebral palsy, so now I donate to the anesthesiologist foundation, I can’t drive because of my cerebral palsy, so I’m gonna lease my all electric ford f-150 and let other people drive it for me, it takes a special person to be a anesthesiologist or CRNA and you’re one of them!!!
Check out the video on resident pay over on the @medschoolinsiders channel. It breaks everything down, including how much residency pay increases as training progresses.
Could you do a video covering how to pay loans? I’m going to be over the average debt most likely once I finish med school and I’m p terrified about how I’ll pay that. My plan is to go into psychiatry. I know that there’s a way to work nonprofit for a certain amount of years to get it forgiven
The scene of rolling up the sleeves was cute as heck. 🥹 dude has the best golden retriever energy ; also yes I’d love a video discussing finances personally. please!
You clog someone’s toilet ONE time and you never hear the end of it 😫
